Weakness effectiveness[]

I was wondering if some-one knows the effectiveness of using a correct weakness. I remember it being a boost (in damage or accuracy, or both?) of around 15%. For example: A monster's weakness is Crush.

  • Using Crush = 15% boost.
  • Using Melee = 5% boost .
  • Using Ranged or Magic = 0% boost.

Is this correct? Thanks for the help ;) . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 17:12, November 28, 2012 (UTC)

lists of monsters[]

is there a place to find a list of monsters weak to certain weaknesses? like slash.

SSDragon19 (talk) 19:40, January 10, 2013 (UTC)

There are categories like Category:Weak to slash attacks, but not a great long list as far as I know.

Wouldn't that be a nice idea though? . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. Enquidou Talk This user likes to do Quests and genuinely loves the story line; lore is his love! . . 20:01, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
I can make the list automatically update, but it would depend on the relevant category being on the page. The category is added through {{Infobox Monster}}, if you track the templates it uses back far enough, so it should be relatively self-updating. The problem comes if there are more than 500 members of the category, but there don't seem to be more than 200 in most of them so it should be fine.
Can't be too hard to set up...

imo, that would be really nice!
do you mean that it won't only update weaknesses like: bolts, air and crush; but also: blisterwood, keris, bane ammunition, holy water, obsidian armour, etc? . . . There's really no point, it'd just be an unorganised copy of the category. MolMan 20:34, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
Hmm... I still think the links should be similar to the normal weaknesses... this is incomplete and unorganized too :(
Very nice list, thanks! Btw, is it possible to add (combat) levels to the list? . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Who aim to maintain Gielinor's Equilibrium. add levels too pls[]

Second the request for combat levels. Also, if we could get an identifier for quest only / slayer required etc. 76.107.22.184 19:24, January 21, 2013 (UTC)
And a third. In speaking with an admin at another wiki, I understood that DPL was able to organize information into pretty tables? Pretty or not, I think displaying levels as well (and sorting by levels maybe) would be supremely useful. I was planning to use it for finding my next target for combat training. Effectiveness[]

Where did it come from and how can we know if a weakness is strong, same, weak, weakest... also.. isn't the multiplier, e.g. 1.5 instead of 0.5 . . . Yours, This user admires the Void Knights. Is there any information on when a weapon is actually strong, neutral, weak, or weakest? I'm assuming that, if the monster's weakness is Slash attacks for example, then it's:

  • Strong against magic in general
  • Neutral (or same) to ranged in general
  • Weak to melee in general
  • Weakest to Slash in specific.

Is this correct? I'd love more info on this Hydrokinetic (talk) 09:11, August 24, 2015 (UTC)

Is the bonus significant enough?[]

Example: If a monster is weak to air spells, but I am high enough level to Fire Surge it instead, should I? Or is the bonus significant enough to make the level 81 spell better than level 95 Fire Surge. 3ICE (talk) 16:16, February 29, 2016 (UTC)

It all depends on the monster's affinity and armour rating. Spell level doesn't matter for damage, because all surge spells scale to be the same dps, and accuracy is based on your weapon. MolMan 16:18, February 29, 2016 (UTC)
