Maybe he's too poor to get a better one, its the best he can get on the island, or he just likes the steel 2h.

Oh, he answered this question in [http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=472| Postbag 11]. He uses steel to give his opponents a fighting chance, since he's usually twice their level anyway. troacctid 18:21, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

Ice Giants Edit

Slayer challenge idea Edit

When Vannaka gives you his slayer challenge (one scale from each of the four chromatic dragons), the challenge is not over until you bring the scales back to Vannaka. If you don't complete this challenge (even if you get all the scales), I think you get the bonus for the Slayer helmet/Full slayer helmet against all baby and adult chromatic dragons. Someone should check this out, like getting a scale and then seeing if the bonus is still incurred against that colour of dragon.

If so, then this may be a great way to go dragon slaying against all the chromatic dragons for a long period (as long as you don't mind that you don't finish the challenge and task). If true, then this can be added to the article. Inelcirc 22:56, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

Slayer challenge bonus points? Edit

This article currently says that completing Van's challenge gives 14 Slayer points. (Not clear if this includes the regular 4 or not.) The Slayer/Challenges article currently says that it gives a bonus of 6 beyond what you receive for a normal task from Van. Can anyone resolve this? JalYt-Mej-Wynde 20:08, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Black Mask On Special Task Edit

Does the Black Mask grant it's bonus while hunting the dragons for their perfect scales?

Special Challenge Edit

You DON'T gain slayer exp on the special challenge for each dragon killed most likely becasue you could leave it incomplete and train all the way to 99 slayer.

I had none of the scales in my inventory or bank when i tested it. I checked blue and black dragons
