This may be just superstition, but I believe that your chances of getting a unique item are greatly increased if you do not log out at all between the time you obtain the clue and completion of it. This may just be the way it's gone for me, so I'm not sure. --Eucarya 10:49, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, I've never noticed a difference, I tend to get things that aren't worth my time pretty much every time I get a scroll, but I have never had anything higher than a level 1 scroll, so I cant say anything, but I'll try and do a few without logging out, and a few where I log out at least once, I dotn know when I'll find time to do so though...Marcus Gord 16:11, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Bored with level 1s now --Eucarya 17:21, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
I've spent twice as long as it normally takes and still no clue from Guards; nevertheless, I did have one banked, which produced:
1 addy long, 39 nats, fire battlestaff. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 13:57, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
20 deaths, yew long, green dhide body, Saradomin cloak.
I had a Level 2 clue that I left in the bank for at least 5 months which produced:
1 Adamant Full Helmet (G), 1 Adamant Dagger, 1 Adamant Longsword, 1 Amulet of Power and 14 Death Runes. Chaoticar 23:22, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
6 green firelighter,s 17 law runes, 86 air runes, 1 green dragonhide chaps and 10 lobsters.
They are just one kind, not short comp and long comp. I have a willow comp bow and it doesn't say anything about being long or short. However, it's speed is like the longbow and has better range bonus (willow longbow and willow shortbow are +20, willow comp is +22).
Should we split this article in two whenever im going to edit this it says the article is so big users may have problems editing. --Whiplash 19:52, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
Press Ctrl + F and type in what your looking for that will make it easier for you.--Alex 18:43, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Finding things isn't the problem, Alex, it's the fact that certain limitations to some people means they cant see a page larger than exactly 32...somethings, whatever they are. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 19:22, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Don't split it in two; rather, take each subsection, and make each into a subpage. Personally I'd like to see this article merged into clue scroll, but with the guide a series of clue scroll/xxxs. Hyenastetalk 19:27, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
32 kilobytes. --Whiplash 19:33, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
The actual problem is that some rather old browsers can't handle a textarea greater than 32k long, which means anyone attempting to edit the entire page with a very old browser might inadvertently wipe the bottom of the page off. Personally, I like having it in a single page, it makes things easy to find. Plus, it's unlikely that anyone wanting to edit the treasure trails guide now, even if they're using an old browser, will only edit part of a section. This guide is almost up to scratch now, and is a great advert for the wiki as a whole, because treasure trails are probably the number one used item from fan sites. --EucaryaTalk 09:04, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
someone needs to order all the items in alphabetical order so its easier on the eyes, and easier to find items on it
Woodcutter631 23:19, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Use ctrl f or cmd f on macs to find stuff. Mathwhiz90601 22:09, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Yes, it does need re-ordering maybe, but with the page being as large as it is, it's difficult to imagine people not searching it, and browsing instead. And how would you organise the co-ordinates, west to east or north to south? --EucaryaTalk 22:27, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Everything, including coordinates, should be arranged in alphabetical and numeric order. When I read a coordinate, I look at the first digit, then second, third, fourth, and then the letter for the direction. It's confusing when the list counts down for the north and then starts counting up for the south. Other fansites have them in numeric order, so it makes it easier to find missing coordinates. I'll start reordering the coords soon. Chrislee33 06:37, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Finally done, all tables in alpha and numeric order. Chrislee33 08:02, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
I have a mid-range desktop, and editing this article is killing it. I've split the clues into a separate page because of that. Hopefully this will help readers with older computers. earth(t)
Treasure Trails start from Clue Scrolls, which drop off of many monsters throughout the game. There are three different levels, with the higher level clue scrolls dropping of of higher level, harder monsters. They are random drops, and you may only have one clue scroll at a time.
Anyone agrees we could better name this article 'Treasure Trails rewards', and Treasure Trails guide just Treasure Trails? Because this article contains nothing more than rewards.--Hapi007Talk!Sign!. 13:51, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Is anybody else seeing some of these images with a white or grey background against the pinkish background of the table? My monitor here at work is really old, so it has problems displaying transparency sometimes. But it appears that many of these images have been pasted on a white background rather than having transparency added. If this is not the case, then disregard this. I will check when I get home on a more modern and much better monitor. 18:21, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Not just you. I'm at work too, but I have a kickass monitor, and a few of the images aren't transparencied. Level 1 rewards: Studded body (t), Studded body (g), Studded chaps (g), Black Kite (h5) Level 2 rewards: Adamant kite (h2) Level 3 rewards: Rune helm (h1), Rune helm (h2), Rune helm (h4), Rune helm (h5) --nekobawt 18:48, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
If you would be so kind, could you tag them with {{transparent}} so I may add transparency when I get home. I'm afraid my computer is going a bit slow right now. Many thanks! 18:54, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
I recently (well, a bit ago) finished Rocking Out, and as you might imagine, nicked a few items from the lockers on the way out. One item I got was a clue scroll, that lead to the clock tower. Now, normally, treasure trails are 2-5 clues in length, right? Well this one was a single clue, that gave an addy (t) plate o_O Maybe locker clues are shorter? --Jimfromtx 09:06, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Circumstances under which you will not receive a(nother) clue. Edit
I killed 190 Hellhounds (which would usually yield 3 or so clues); however i got none. i had none in my inv or bank, however when i checked my miscelania resources there was one there (from fishing).
This leads me to believe that you cannot receive another clue while there is one undelivered at miscelania.
Actually, you can still receive one as a drop. You were just really unlucky. Miscellania doesn't actually calculate your resources until you check it, so the clue wasn't really "sitting" in Miscellania. Also, because I just did a clue, and then check Misc. and had one in there.--Long Live Armadyl 15:45, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
In the long run, what's more profitable? Level 2's or level 3's? I know you can get Third Age from the level 3's, but the level twos can get you Ranger Boots (11m). Help is appreciated :D Mythomagic5 16:22, October 28, 2009 (UTC)
Hands down, its level 3 clues. With level 2 clues, 80-85% of the time you get nothing but adamant armour which is often barely worth it to alchemize. With level 3, even with your worst clue, you still get away with about 50k worth of rune items. Psycho Robottalk 16:35, October 28, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice! I read it and decided to kill Jellies instead of Pyrefiends and I got a Saradomin Full Helm! :D! Mythomagic5 15:56, October 29, 2009 (UTC)
What happen if you lose your clue scroll but can remember what it said? Edit
Say if you die whilst having a clue scroll in your inventory, you dont manage to reach your gravestone in time and lose it. BUT you can remember what it said on the clue scroll, can you still do what it says or is it a case of getting another clue scroll and starting over? (Written by Guest - SnipingMayhem, 14.44 29th Nov 09)
You must have the clue scroll in your inventory for the action to have the effect (be it doing an emote, speaking to an NPC, digging in a specific spot or searching an object); you can test this by leaving the clue scroll in your bank and doing the action. If you lose the clue by dying or dropping it you have to get another and start again. GazLloydAwesomeEvents!99s 14:57, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for that, cant believe i lost my only level 3 clue scroll ive had so far on clue 4... (Written by Guest - SnipingMayhem, 21.05 30th Nov 09)
I have done many level 3 clues but have never gotten any amulets. They are listed as rewards for all clues. I vaguely remember getting some ruby amulets from a level 2 clue long time ago. I am wondering if these drops have been removed or if they are just as rare as getting 3rd age items.--Ruderion (Talk) 17:15, November 30, 2009 (UTC)
I've had an amulet of magic (level 1), an amulet of power (level 2, twice), and an amulet of glory (t) (level 3). I have pics if you really want them. I think the row in the table refers only to enchanted ones, I've never had unenchanted amulets from any level treasure trail. GazLloydAwesomeEvents!99s 17:30, November 30, 2009 (UTC)
I finished a level 3 clue (from jungle strykewyrms if that matters) and got 15 noted anitfire(4)'s. This was the first time I've recieved them as a reward, and I was wondering if anyone else had got them, and we chould add it to the list.
I Have got 15 Antifire (4) also ( ) and my mate has got 15 Energy restore.
Does the 1/10,000 refer to your chances of getting a particular 3rd age item or just getting any of them? i.e. : your chances of getting a 3rd age mage amulet are 1/10,000?
As you probably already know, I think you did this after the Elite Clue update, which added potions to rewards( I think, im pretty sure there wasn't before)
I've gotten c'bows from tressure trails, and quite often, im pretty sure you can get them from all 3 levels but i dont know which cbow from which i know bronze and iron is 1 and i know adam is 2 but that needs more investigation.... idk how to add to the page cuz its confuzzling but some should look into putting that onto the tressure trail page.
I think with this recent update many more items need to be added to the list.
Well, it seem seems there's already a list of level 4 scroll rewards, but there doesn't seem to be anything but clue scroll-specific items. There must be something other than those. However, I'm far too nooby to do them and find out potential rewards. I can only hope someone else does it for me. YodimonTalk to meh! 23:23, August 5, 2010 (UTC)
Heya, just passing through, it's been confirmed on the RSOF that 'comp' bows are now available from any level clue, ie a willow from a lvl 3, and, a mage from a lvl1 :) (Guest-Broken Digit, 7/8/10)
