I propose a move to Teleportation as that is a more accurate term. Objections? (Will move in 24 hours if nobody objects).Shadowdancer 03:14, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, as isn't that what is listed in the Magic spellbook? (Or Jagex's KB) Huanghe63 03:36, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Unfortunately the Knowledge Base article uses both terms; so it is about an equal split. Since the title heading of the article is Teleportation Spells, I would suggest a move to Teleportation with a note in the article, and a redirect from this article. That should cover all the bases.--Curmudgeony 06:31, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
Good idea. Huanghe63 03:37, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
This move has been implemented.Shadowdancer 03:39, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gnome Glider
I don't think that using a gnome glider is teleportation. It's transportation, definetely, but it isn't magic, and I thought that was part of teleporting. -- Couchpotato99 03:55, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- I always thought of it as a form of teleportation simply because you talk to the gnome, click the map, and 10 seconds later you're suddenly at the top of the Gnome Tree.Shadowdancer 03:57, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, it is instantenous, but then should we put ships in this article too? -- Couchpotato99 04:00, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

- I think if it's almost instantaneous it should be classed as teleportation - so, gnome glider yes, magic carpets no. --Eucarya 07:35, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- It isn't really instantaneous, though. You get a cutscene of a map and the glider moves from your current location on the map to wherever you are going, and then you are there. This implies that it does take time and that you are gliding, not teleporting. -- Couchpotato99 19:32, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- Drive through, folks. This was resolved a long time ago. Shadowdancer 20:03, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bold
Why was my edit reverted like vandalism? Why is all that bold? It looks terrible. -- Couchpotato99 (talk) (contribs) 23:57, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- Of course. Another edit by me that you should undo for conflict's sake. Shadowdancer 01:49, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- Let's not make it personal if we don't have to. The reason for not bold is that the other lists are not bold on this page or others. Now please provide the reason for bold so we can reach a decision properly.

- To highlight the benefits of teleportation. Sigh. Shadowdancer 01:56, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
- Excellent. We have now both presented our sides. Now you understand my reasoning and I understand yours, and we can see that there are no ulterior motives to our edits. Now I would like to recieve further information by asking a question. Do you agree that bolding all the words lessens the impact of bolding, similar to how italicising all words in a sentence does not provide any use since too much content is italicised to bring any one word or group of words into focus?

[edit] What about an "other items" section?
There are other items which do effect a true magical teleport other than jewelry, such as the skull sceptre and the items mentioned at the beginning of the article. These need to be researched and included. Mathwhiz90601 06:53, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] rock by lumbermill with tele symbol over it
what is it? where does it tele to? I heard that you use a ring of stone to use it. Idk where i heard it from but is it true? haven't seen it mentioned anywhere
- That's a landing/take-off spot for the hot air balloon there. --nekobawt 18:00, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Images
As per the the policy RS:IMAGE, all articles have a limit of 2 animations each. I counted a whopping 11 animations. Should we remove 9 of them, or can this article keep them? Opinions pl0x. --- I noticed this too - I would suggest a separate Teleport Animation page, perhaps with a more consistent player in the image. This would have the added advantage of having the images all in one place for easy comparison, instead of spread out over a very large page. An example frame (in PNG form) could be kept in the current location where the animations are now, with a link to the animation page in the caption. I will start working on this later. --Csours 16:13, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
- I think this deserves the animations, because it is one of the exceptions (like emotes).
