Yelps as a bank robberEdit

I added this image to the SoF page and Yelps page and it was taken down. Why? It's relevant to both, and I believe pretty striking considering popular opinion on the SoF.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rogue Haven (talk).

I left a message on your talk page after each deletion. Maybe you should go and read it? Small recharge gem AnselaJonla Slayer-icon 15:02, June 23, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I'm new to this, but I did find my way to the deletion log. I tried to upload the other image already uploaded, and couldn't seem to. I tried searching for it when it prompted me to choose an image, but it wouldn't come up. ~ RogueHaven

Individual test result Edit

Concerning revisions 5824068 and 5830780 where individual test results by another wiki users where removed: This information is for the time being the best available information and should as far as I can see not be removed till it can be replaced by better information ( for example taken from User:Joeytje50/SoF ). r5824068 wasn't motivated at all (and thus reverted by me) and next redone @ r5830780 with the motivation that the same wasn't done on monster pages which isn't true as the charm log data is quite often from a single user initially (till it improves over time). Please share opinion and if seen as appropriate undo the previously mentioned revisions or alternatively write a new section concerning the chances with alternative data, but as this is the second most useful information (for players) on this entire page something should be added quickly. --Al from Roke 21:33, June 25, 2012 (UTC)

Gold small lampsEdit

I discovered small gold lamps in the common spots, every time I recieved one it was either agility or thieving. I got at least 20 of these lamps and they were all agility or thieving. 04:00, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

If you'd've read the news, or the picture that pops up every time currently, you'd know these are temporary bonus lamps. Player moderator crownarioTalkHSAdv. Log#Dungeoneering-icon120/120 03:37, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

Money bug? Edit

How can it come that a rare money price is worth less then a uncommon money price? 08:38, September 3, 2012 (UTC)Robban55 b85.230.54.191 08:38, September 3, 2012 (UTC)

^The link in a huge fail.. >.> {{{ link fail but ip is valid and path works}}}

I know that 200k can be in a rare spot, while 500k can be in a uncommon spot. This happens when you obtain the full ceremonial set. Cinariel (talk) 11:57, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

can u convert items to coin after you claimed them.... like the stuff you won before the convert update?

You can't. Once you have claimed the item, you cannot convert it into coins (alchemy does work, but it gives signicicantly less gp) 11:03, September 14, 2012 (UTC)Cinariel (talk)

Content copy to official rs wiki Edit

I'm going to copy the bulk of the Controversies section to the official Jagex rs wiki. I'm only going to copy the parts that I wrote, which is most of it. Thought I'd just let you guys know here.

Captainmeta4 (talk) 16:25, October 30, 2012 (UTC)

On that account, the only edit you've made to the page can be found here. It doesn't look like most of the section. 22px-Logo.svg.png22#.png 16:32, October 30, 2012 (UTC)
I wrote it back when controversies was part of the main sof page: /wiki/Squeal_of_Fortune#Controversies rather than its own page: /wiki/Squeal_of_Fortune/Controversies In any case, official wiki page for sof is locked with the "Jagex Approved" ribbon. No you didn't. I can look through your contributions. MolMan 23:45, November 4, 2012 (UTC)

How rare?Edit

How rare are given rewards? I know the rarity doesn't line up with the wheel; that's for sure - you have about a 1/33 chance of a very rare but that's obvious BS. Does anyone know the approximate rarities, or does it change based on the item in that slot?

1.3 Distractions and diversions - P2P#Current weekly free ticket?Edit

I was wondering where we can see what the Current weekly D&D is that gives the player a free spin ticket... and no matter if we can find it, we should still add it when we find out where it can be gotten. IS SOF really that bad? No Edit

SOF really isn't that bad if I was to spin 10,000 times it wouldn't even give me a 10% boost to my total exp. It's still practically all traditional training is the way to go unless your willing to spend thousands on a video game which I really doubt anyone in there right mind is doing. The occasional person why buys even a large spin package will see little to no benefit in comparison to there total exp.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 02:25, 4 December 2012.

In 10k spins you could expect about 20m exp in a skill of choice and another 20m in predetermined skills, assuming maximum experience per lamp (level 98+). You could also expect around 50m coins, just from coin wins. 10k would also give a good chance of winning some rare items. While this isn't truly valid - based on the final table here, which is many months old and there have been squeal updates since - its a good guide at least. You'd probably get fewer lamps, replaced with pendants and recharge gems, which may be more exp over time anyway.
But that's not the point. People disagree with the principle - you can legitimately pay real money to get experience and coins. Sure, its not very efficient and is expensive, but the fact that it exists is what people don't like. Pure cosmetic microtransactions (like in SGS) have some people in a twist, and whether that should exist in a subscription MMO anyway is questionable. SoF is actually giving you an in-game advantage of instant (and now over time) experience. That's no good. Quest Gaz Lloyd 7:^]Events!99s 10:10, December 4, 2012 (UTC)
I've spun 10k times I don't recommend it. It was a complete waste of money rares I got none! that's right you heard no cosmetic items what so ever & no lucky items I'm even still missing pieces of those exp boosting suits. Your chance of getting those items must be very remote. As for exp that 10k did allow me to get a very large amount of exo the numbers above a rather correct but I will agree for most of us 20mill exp is only a fraction of the exp on our accounts. Spinning 10k times takes alot of time & effort to do over several sessions. You'd be better off playign the game it's far more enjoyable. If you have 91+ in multiple skills your probually also better off collecting effergies which cost you nothing. If you want something specific on SOF don't count on it unless your going to do alot more then 10k spins. As for SGS many other MMOs that are P2P or freemium have cash shops soon it will be in all MMOs.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 22:12, December 4, 2012.
Before you go spening rediclous amounts of your spare money on things like this think about what else you could be doing with that money. 10k spins costs about $1000 that could buy you a pretty decent computer upgrade go get 1` of those I know most RS players are likely on running on older computers. If you get a new rig it helps the rest of us to as Jagex will see more reason to update the game for more powerful systems & you get a better gaming experience being able to play in High detail & full screen.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 22:40, December 4, 2012.

Finish Him!Edit

Yelps looks like he's waiting for a fatality like in Mortal Kombat. I can't believe I've wasted $100.00 on 450 spins and never got that 600 mil during triple-prize weekend. Player moderator crownMetallicanranaDrygore longsword08:04, December 19, 2012 (UTC) Yelps

Trivia section of SoFEdit

"On the day the Squeal of Fortune was released players could press the spin button once then again to stop it at the slot they wanted. This caused huge amounts of rare lucky items to enter the game, it was patched around 2 hours after the release. No player rollbacks were administered."

I edited the entry somewhat because it didn't make much grammatical sense. Can anybody cite this as a legitimate bit of info, or is it false, as I would imagine it would be?

Weekly D&D 13-19 March Edit

13-19 March D&D is Penguins. Idk how to update the template. 22:56, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

Never mind. I updated it. Thought it would be a different template. ^.^ 23:02, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

Maximum allowed spins Edit

IRT maximum allowed spins, the article states the following:

"For non-purchased spins, there is a cap on the number of unused spins that you are allowed. You will not earn spins beyond this amount:

  • Daily spins: ~10"

I found that to be false.

I recently discovered the tooltip on the SoF interface when you hover over "Remaining Spins". Before reset today, my spin count was as follows:

Daily spins: 3
Earned spins: 5
Bought spins: 1
My spin count for today (after reset) is....the same. And before anyone asks, yes, I was logged out at reset and didn't log back in until almost an hour after reset so any additional daily spins earned would have shown.

I want to change the article to reflect that daily spins cap at 3 and they are "use or lose" spins. Unless someone can enlighten me to how I can accumulate up to 10 daily spins. Am I missing something here? 01:03, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

Edit: I forgot to mention that I have the Gold Premium membership which earns me 3 daily spins. 01:04, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

I don't think it is currently possible to get more than 3 daily spins... Dragon dagger AmoVos 01:05, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, so the article is incorrect. I'll update it now. 01:09, March 29, 2013 (UTC)
I have found that there is a limit on earned spins, at least from daily challenges. If you have 100 earned spins when handing in a daily challenge, you get the message "You have missed out on earning a Squeal of Forune spin as your earned spins have reached the maximum allowed." and the spin usually earned is not given. Bob f it (talk) 19:52, July 26, 2013 (UTC)

Spin Habits Edit

I was woundring how many spins everyone else dose? I do the normal 3 spins for gold membership & I usually buy 75 spins once a month. Once I add spins earned in game & double tickets it's probually 200+ spins a month.

Maybe we could get a study on this going or something?

Sorry, this talk page is so incredibly long so I'm adding my bit here: Does the 10 spin ticket thing only include having 10 spin tickets in your inventory? Or after you've claimed 10 spin tickets it doesn't let you claim any more?

I have started to play RS again and my SoQ never shows up

anyone having the same problem? or know how to fix it?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk) on 12:56, January 18, 2014 (UTC).
