I am currently revising the F2P skill guides. All the free skills are listed below. The ones with a strike through them are done, though improvements are welcome.

Should we have a 'stat boosting stuff' for each skill, for example, under Strength you'd have 'Strength Potion' and 'Beer', for Smithing it would be 'Dwarven Stout' etc. --Eucarya 16:20, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

Images Edit

Big XP Calculator Edit

Slayer = a combat skill? Edit

the combat skills section say: "skills that have to do with fighting stuff". in the slayer skill, all you do is fight stuff. so sould it be added to the "combat" skills section? Tesfan 18:09, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

combat guide Edit

slayer is already a combat skill, if you kill enough u will get a new skill in str, att, or def. for instance i had to kill 101 ice giants. did that and got my combat lvl up 3 times. --- —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.46.19.232 (talk).

New SkillsEdit

I have heard many rumors of varying skills that Jagex is working on. Does anyone know if Jagex is working on any new skills, and what they are? Also, is Jagex going to release updates for the current skills? What are some of the things you've heard about new skills? I might have missed the update. It's always an anxious wait to hear from Jagex about new updates. Thanks!

Strange trick I've found... Edit

I found that if you get a Skill Lamp, you cna use it on the P2P skills even if you're a free player. I tried this out a few times, and it still seems to work...could we stick it in a trivia section or something? It sounds useful, especially for those who forgot to pay their subscription and it ran out (me). Raven110283 06:46, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Heh, thats what I did to raise my farming back when I wasn't a member but now that I am I....still do it cuz I F***ING HATE FARMING!
Still, Genie lamps don't work, only the antique (red) ones work.

That has never worked for me. I have always been f2p, never member. Antique lamps require you to have a level of at least 20, so f2pers who have never been mems wouldn't be able to do this. Excalo 15:33, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

lmao the login 1337 total level thing actually works, I thought it was bs. you have to put your finger on the screen where the skills tab is, logout to lobby, log in again and spam click the interface and that's what your total is for about a second =P Some sanity 17:28, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

Training Guides Edit

I think we should make training guides for the skill. A lot of RS fansites have training guides and I think we need them too. The forums and talk pages always have ppl asking how to level-up a skill. Shortcuts in header Edit

I'd like to see links to all the skills at the top of the page, not a big deal I know but I find myself constantly scrolling down to get to the individual links for the skills. Any thoughts?

Well as nobody had any thoughts, I added an alphabetical list of the skills. Gangsterls then removed the changes. Is editing this Wiki just a battle between peoples personal preferences? Or is there some democracy involved?

Well I did look of course but I did not think of testing it in different screen/window sizes. I'm sorry I jumped to the wrong conclusions and I'll try to do better in the future. Difficulty Edit

The difficulty placed next to the skills are ugly and have no meaning behind them at all. Each skill can have their difficulty debated on hundreds of things. I suggest that they be removed.

Agreed, skill difficulty is highly subjective. I know that many people would argue that cooking is easier than woodcutting, for example. Skill 05:15, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

i beleave many ppl want to know how hard a skill is to raise, so insted of removing it should be improved and difficulty's revised. it should be general skill difficulty. whiteferrett
There is no way to measure skill difficulty objectively. No matter how much we tinker with the difficulty ratings, it will still be pure opinion. Readers should look at the articles and skill descriptions and decide for themselves how difficult each skill is. Skill 19:43, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
we could have everyone who wants to praticipate rate all the skills how they think they should be ranked and then average all the rating for each skill and use the average skill difficulty rating. Whiteferrett


It won't work. One could argue that summoning is a very easy skill, since "All you do is gather charms and make pouches", while fletching is extremely difficult due to "The need to cut a log first, training woodcutting, and then the need to use a knife in the process of making an unstrung bow, as well as the requirement to pick flax and subsequently spinning it, and finally using the resultant bowstring item on an unstrung bow to gain a mere ten fletching experience." (Of course, it's the other way around, but it serves to illustrate a point)

level Advancing Animation Edit

Well the fireworks actually look the same, unless a particular milestone (such as 99 in a skill, a certain total level, or a combat level) is reached. So the current animation isn't too out-of-date, besides using the old graphics. That said, I agree that a new one would be nice. troacctid 05:14, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

You cannot take any items into the Stealing Creation minigame, and you leave the minigame with nothing. The out-of-minigame rewards are classed as normal items and are kept or lost according to the items kept on death interface. Quest Gaz Lloyd AwesomeEvents!99s 19:07, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

New Skill section Edit

Two things, 1st off, Zorak Plorak, you forgot Tortise Stacking :) 2nd, it was confirmed by Jagex mods that the mod that said the skill would start with B actually picked a random letter. It could be any letter of the alphabet. Cheers! 72.49.27.34 02:41, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

While neither Animal Conversation or Animal Husbandry start with "B", go to the Poison Arrow Pub in south Ardougne, where you bought the "skewered kebab" for 25 coins in the Achievement Diary, and talk to the small furry brown animal in there with the green headgear. The player states that if they had better skill at talking with animals, they could understand this creature (chipmunk, squirrel, grinney, badger, ?). Is this an 'in game' hint? Sparky is a squirrel and you can talk to him with 70 summoning. Features already included in the game will hardly become a new skill. If Archeology was the new skill - why did they not wait to release the Temple at Senntisten to include it? Luck cant possibly be a skill begause it cant be traded. I heard on war of legends that the new skill was revealed to be buccanearing or however its spelled on the high lvl forums. Would anyone in the high lvl forums be able to confirm this? it seems possible, especially considering that I believe a mod has said in a Q&A or something that it will be much better than sailing, and buccanearing would be sailing and more... He's Reading my skill stats?!Edit

ok i was workig on a shot for a rsmv in canafis where i was fighting a werewolf then this guy walks up to me, looked at the werewolf, then turned to me. the words username is reading your skill stats! then some weird firework like thing appeared above my head. he then just walked off. Does anyone know what this is?

I disagree with Dungeoneering a minigame Edit

In this article it mentions what types of skills are, e.g. Slayer is a combat skill, Fishing is a resource skill, etc. It says right there that Dungeoneering is a "Minigame Skill." I think it'd be more correct to classify it as a Party or Group skill considering it doesn't truly require u to do combat or resource skills but revolves more around fitting roles within a group or managing your own skills to cover the multiple roles that a group would have. Constitution or Hitpoints? Edit

Near the bottom, the part about 9 Constitution reads

"Accounts may also have less than 10 Constitution if they were created during RuneScape Classic and did not level it, this is because the required xp for level 10 was raised for RS2 and therefore characters who had not trained Constitution in RuneScape Classic did not have enough xp for level 10."

Straight-up coding? Edit

First off, this is in the middle of a paragraph and has nothing to do with the context of the paragraph.

Also, can you elaborate on this?

What's the source? What is "straight-up coding"? What's the points of saying "using loops"?

On every skill's page, there is an old big icon and a better graphics new icon. Where did those icons come from, if they're still not in-game? Will they be added in future update to skills tab in-game? Xeoxer 16:10, December 8, 2011 (UTC)
