Table of First 99s Edit
If, within that table of first 99s, we include the first guy with all melee 99s, shouldn't we note Gearshifter being the first to reach max combat level? Ctth 06:09, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
Top 10 when first level 99 in all skills 8 December 2006 (UTC)
|Overall Hiscores with first total level 2,277 - 8 Dec 06|
Maybe I'm just cynical...Edit
...But I think this is just a way to admire some of the newer maxed out players.
I feel that names should not be listed, because:
1. All players deserve the right to privacy.
2. It's already irritating to hear "Darkforest this, Thehate that" and I'm sure visitors want to be spared that.
Cool Spy0 20:09, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
- Again, I reiterate my point that the Runescape public hiscores are public, we are only re-reporting that content. And as for admiring newer maxed out players...well, only the first to each skill is being mentioned, so there's really no glory being given to newer players especially. But is it a useless section? There's an argument for that, but I don't see the real harm in recording RS history. Endasil 04:39, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
OK, the recent influx of names being added to this list makes it clear that the list should not be there. This list was NOT intended to be our "list of admiration." Listing Zezima makes no sense because there are a whole bunch (8) of players with maxed out skills. I vote for either reverting, or deleting, this section. Please leave your comments. Endasil (Talk) @ 14:14, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I've cleaned up the trivia section. We should not be recording "the latest and greatest," as this changes a lot and is really not that relevant to this specific page. This page is not about hiscores. Also, I don't think we should be recording who has all maxed out skills, or the first to reach them. This is still open to discussion, but the changes have been made Endasil (Talk) @ 14:36, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Update, and TrendsEdit
Hey, I updated the table (March 4, 2007) to reflect the newest hiscores. If you're wondering the best way to do this (short of finding/building a script), I basically do a binary search in the hiscores by rank. For example, if the old value was say 1000, you could search for 1200. If all the hiscores shown then are 99, search for say 2000, and keep going until you have a screen where there are no 99s. Then search for the midpoint, 1600, then 1400, then 1200, until you close in on a page which has the split between 99/98. Take the rank of the last 99 listed, that's how many 99's there are. Of course, you could figure this all out on your own, I'm just rambling.
For those interested, I did up a quick Excel sheet comparing trends from the last set of data and the new set, and converted it to a Wiki table using this script. The second and third columns are the old and new data. The fourth column is the percentage increase in the number of 99s since the last set of data, and the last column is the difference between the increase and the average increase of 99s. Enjoy, I found it kind of interesting. If anyone wants the Excel doc, just ask, but I'm sure anyone would be able to make it on their own in less time.
|Dec-06||Mar-07||% increase||+/- average||Number|
Some Citations Would Be Excellent Edit
I'd like to see some citations of the "Notes" on this article. Anyone game to produce 'em? Planeshifted 21:58, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
I don't think you'd be able to get citations cast in stone for those, they are facts that some people remember from the early years, they're widely accepted by the older gamers. JFonseka 16:12, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Removal of "First Players" section Edit
I fail to see where consensus was reached to remove this section from this article. It can still be found in this historic version of this page but is no longer in this article. I believe this to be a loss to this wiki.
I also fail to see how the opinion of an unnammed "admin" has any weight over any other user or how that gives anybody extra permission to delete content without discussing it.
Barring any major objections or reasonable justification for its removal, I'll put this table back into this article after giving a reasonable chance for those who want this removed to reply here on this talk page. --Robert Horning 13:58, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- I agree, there should be a consensus before any change like that is made on the article. C Teng talk 14:27, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yay! The section is back... I was so shocked when it was removed. 05:54, 18 July 2008 (UTC)
Partial protection Edit
As this article is controversial to begin with, and many of these cannot be 100% proven with hard evidence, I believe that this page deserves partial protection. It is subject to vandalism by players who want to stick their name on the page, and sometimes get away with it. If the names are true, then there is no reason for anybody to change it. When the time comes that a new skill is released and the first 99 is obtained, a registered user will be sufficient enough to add the required information.08:08, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
- I've changed the protection level to registered users only. This seems like a mature article, and yeah I've seen some frequent vandalism here as well. If there is somebody who legitimately wants to contest this protection, I'm open to the discussion as well. This action is reversible. --Robert Horning 04:58, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Factual correction Edit
I heard Zezima is a girl, but it says "He". Can this be cleared up?
- We don't know, so I reworded the sentence on him. 184.108.40.206 16:49, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
99 Attack Edit
Aclaw was not 99 Attack. I can name a bunch of people off the top of my head that had 99 Attack before him, i.e. Zonghui, Ladykilljoy, Gregechidna6, S A X, Sir Elliott, Gearshifter, Eva 02, Sandytrain, etc. This will honestly never be known since the hiscores only showed Hits level during this period and were not seperated into the Att, Def & Str as they are today. I can almost guarantee it was Zonghui but might possibly have been Ladykilljoy but chances are unlikely it was her since she maxed Str first and he maxed 99 stats pretty shortly after.
Also, note ^4 listed next to Kingduffy 1's name is irrelevant to the 'multiple level 99 skills' section. If you are going to post something like that it should also be next to the other 4 people that beat Zezima to total level on that list for the appropriate skills.
Listing of a Macroing Edit
It was highly rumored around Runescape of Bluerose13x who was always well known for her high skills in Mining and Smithing, but when Jagex started updated the system to stop Macro users they had her in a list of others who Macro'ed and at one time was banned. I don't know clrealy if she was cleared of it or not since this happened around the time she achieved her 99's. Please do make a note of this.
The Legendary Seven Edit
Has anyone heard anything about this? Before Runescape 2 came out and even before the pay-to-play areas had been created, there was a group called The Legendary Seven. I've only heard about it past on from year to year with only whispers and others who no longer play. The group was derivived from seven players who were considered the most well known players at that time. I don't think the group ever meet much if at all but were all known to always be on. Here is a short list of those I have heard: 1) Bluerose13x 2) Everdred 3) Snake Slava 4) Cowchicken 5) Malak 6) Tks 7) Tasuki1986
I'm not sure about the accuracy but it's what i've heard.
Incorrect Data on the 99's list Edit
Mining states there are 2565 players with level 99 mining, but looking at the highscores, there are only 2489 players with level 99 mining. JFonseka 14:55, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
I was looking through random articles as normal and I clicked on this, the first thing that I noticed was the emote animation at the top. It doesn't look very... impressive. The Fletching cape is quite common with a bad emote that everybody will have seen, so: Having a rarer cape e.g. smithing/construction or a cape with a better/rarer emote such as smithing/agility/construction/fishing.Probably just pointless but it would create a better impression upon loading the page. I'll change it if nobody minds. 21:11, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- Never mind, just noticed the coding. Very cliver :p 21:16, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
Look at this, the original poster (2009) said "Don't use the fletching cape for our wiki page because fletching is quite common, it would create a better impression if there was a skill with a rarer emote such as smithing/agiltiy/construction. Now fast forward to 2012... the rarest of emotes (runecrafting is the rarest 99, by far) in on our wiki page. But now that the Runespan has come out, the runecrafting emote will quickly become very common. Times are always changing in Runescape, we will (I'm not suggesting that we change the wiki page!) now have to change the emote on the wiki page to the Construction Cape. Then when Construction XP becomes easier O_o, we will have to have to change the our wiki page to show the Agility Cape. Then Farming. Then Slayer.

99 Dates Edit
Here is a pic to prove that Halw Gnun achieved 99 Herblore sometime in 2003. Check the copyright at the bottom.
I am also 100% positive that Zonghui, Ladykilljoy and Swedemike reached 99 in their respective stats in 2002.
Here is some actual proof that it was 2002. This was pre-Agility and Agility was released in Dec 2002.
Interesting to see how many more 99 people in 1 day Edit
Wow, I was quite surprised to see how many more lvl 99s in 1 day
- 120 99 attackers

- 8 miners
- 160 strength
- 10 agility
- 9 smithing
- 85 defence

- 100 fletching
- 11 rc
- 14 slayer
- 12 farming
- 15 construction
- 18 summ

Don't you think it's amazing in 1 day 6 people more got all skills 99 etc? :D one day this could be yo:D18.104.22.168 03:30, June 16, 2010 (UTC)lex-- 11:01, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
4 April 2006Edit
Well; I found some funny information about 99s in 2006, I add more from other dates =D:
Total 2079: 3 (The old Nite, Zezima and N0valife)
Construction: 10 Runecraft: (larryr 130(!)M xp as first, second just 25M)
Make graphs Edit
I wonder if the ammount of lvl 99 people is raising linear or exponential or something like that :P I wonder if anyone would be thinking of graphings our statistics when they have some time.--11:19, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
That would be very time consuming. We would have to collect a lot of data(since the current graph is manually edited.)
However, it is a fine idea, but the graph would be neither linear or exponential. It's ummm...the other type of graph. Random but always increasing.
Depends on time of day and day of week, and time of the year. Holidays, weekends, summer etc. Player Froob 06:26, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
I know every individual day would depend if it's a weekend or holiday or something, but in the long way, it should show some pattern. It won't (of course :P) not be a perfect linear or exponential function (or other function), but if you neglect daily varieties, it should look like 1 standard function. Player Froob, what kind of graph do you mean? There are polynomial functions (but what degree would it be?), linear, power, exponential, period, logarithmic functions but I can't think of much else :P (logarithmic, polynomial and period functions should be scrapped, I don't see how these functions could fit with the facts ;-) ) ----08:28, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, tough question. It should look like a standard function? Well, it's always increasing isn't it? =P.
But, then again, I realize not. There are many characters who get banned for botting, They get removed from the list permanately.
I suppose it is Linear, if you average everything on an yearly basis, but, like I said, it requires too much data to prove.
Who's up for getting data for every single day for an year? Any takers? Thought not. =(
PlayerFroobTalk 16:09, January 26, 2010 (UTC)
I could try... Im bored while training wc/doinghomework/dungeoneering/farming. So: Why not. Will take the last 2 years I think. Not 100% Sure i'll make it =P. -Zorak plorak - Talk 14:07, April 19, 2010 (UTC)
Also, the trivia is a liez Edit
"Jagex may consider removing the level caps, which would increase the maximum level in a skill from 99 to 126"
Completely wrong. I read about it and it says,
"Maximum experience is unlikely to rise. It’s already a long way above the maximum level cap."
"It is possible to do - 99 is just a number we picked - but we currently have no plans to go above that."
Read it more carefully, whoever added that. Player Froob 06:58, January 5, 2010 (UTC)
hunter 99 Edit
Thehate reached first 99 in Hunter, not Darkforest67, I remember it clearly and Thehate is already mentioned in "99 in all skills (2277)", which means he reached first 99 in Hunter. --22.214.171.124 16:19, January 9, 2010 (UTC)
If Darkforest wasn't maxed out, he wasn't the first to get 2277 overall. I think that is the case here --22:11, January 9, 2010 (UTC)
Indeed, there is plentiful proof that Darkforest67 was first to 99 Hunter. As stated above all "first to 2277" means is that Thehate was the first player to get 99 Hunter while also having all other skills 99. Any number of people could theoretically achieved 99 Hunter before him.
It is stated by the table that Bluerose13x was the first to attain 99 Smithing in late 2001, and then the same player to get 99 Magic in early 2002, but the image showing the first 99 Smithing most probably shows Bluerose13x to be that player, but that player already has 99 Magic at that time? Continuity fail. Alex1496 22:01, January 25, 2010 (UTC)
Some dates (Not 100% sure)
- 15th September 2004 RuneCrafting 99
- 2003 Herblore 99
- 2002 Thieving, Strength, Attack, Defence 99
- 2002-2003 Constitution 99
no one has 99 in all skillsEdit
The chart is wrong- no one has 99 in all skills after the new skill came out.
There are now about 6 people with 99 dungeonerring, first being "No Lifer Ohi"(He is named on the "first player to 99" list under this name because he acheived this with this name, not "skiller 703."
Move to Skill Mastery Edit
- I suppose you will say you know zezima or something. The point is, it doesn't really matter, we can just assume everyone is male unless someone has proof otherwise. HaloTalk 04:26, May 17, 2010 (UTC)
- Zezima is a male, people saying he is female are just spreading a rumor :P
- I read an interview with him on Sal's Realm, and they constantly refer to him as a male, and there is no point at which he is called female. 126.96.36.199 05:41, June 18, 2010 (UTC)
Attention rating? Edit
Is there really a need for the Attention rating in the table under the "Rarity of 99s" section? Honestly, how can this even be determined? It cannot be based on facts, and really I don't see a need for it. Plus, what about RS:NPOV? 20:55, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure fully understand what that rating means. If a skill has a high attention rating, it means that you need to be contantly clicking and watching your computer, like Thieving or Firemaking. If it has a low attention rating, it means that you can largely let your player do the work, Like Fishing or Woodcutting.21:55, July 2, 2010 (UTC)
- Oh... I knew that... Sorry, thank you for clearing it up. :) 22:32, July 3, 2010 (UTC)
Speed rating Edit
For the speed rating, is 1 star fastest, or 5 stars? I'm not sure, 1 star could mean it was easy in terms of speed, but 5 stars could mean it has very high speed. I think they're all listed different ways in that respect. Could someone do something about that? I don't know how fast all the skills train compared to each other, so I can't really do it...21:50, July 2, 2010 (UTC)
- 1 star is very slow, 5 is very fast. -- 01:00, July 9, 2010 (UTC)
All free skills as free players: 2? Edit
- I believe it was supposed to mean the number of free-players that have 99 in all of the free-to-play skills, I edited it to make more sense. 03:27, July 28, 2010 (UTC)
"98.541 players with 99 constitution" Edit
Using the 98.541 instead of 98,541 is messing up the sorting thing and it's also inconsistent with the rest of the page. I don't know where the variable is stored so can someone change it to of 98,541 please? Davidyang201 21:54, August 11, 2010 (UTC)
Made some speed corrections/updates Edit
Firemaking is faster than woodcutting. Adjusted speeds so they are the same rating now (both 3) rather than having wc on 4 and fm on 2. Fm may justify a 4 rather than a 3. Also raised dungeoneering to a 2 - more accurate following the update than a 1. PlqX 11:15, August 27, 2010 (UTC)
why is dung only 1 star on money?frost dragons are one of the best moneymaking (if not) ways in rs not to mintion the other resources dungeons —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 188.8.131.52 (talk) on 02:52, September 6, 2010.
- Because you don't make any money actually training Dungeoneering. Remember to sign your comments. Obi Wanrules 10:30, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
- Should it have more stars on speed? It has the second most common player count with 200 million xp at the moment (despite of currently being the lowest level 99 count) so obviously, despite fastest trainings require a lot of planning and teamwork, people who know how to train properly, train REALLY fast. --Flajuram 09:40, February 22, 2011 (UTC)
- Opportunity cost should be factored in when considering profitability. There are technically profitable ways of training both firemaking (shades of morton) and prayer (ghasts/vyrewatch), but they're so massively slow, that it'd be cheaper to gather onions, sell them and use the money made from selling onions to train prayer and firemaking. While there are no profitable ways of training dungeoneering, not training dungeoneering means eschewing resource dungeons and scrolls which mitigate costs in other skills. 184.108.40.206 21:55, July 8, 2012 (UTC)
Is it right that people who got a first level 99 via cheating (RWT, etc) should be listed? (e.g. Cursed You) It's kinda unfair on whoever got 99 Construction first and legit. Zigzagzigal 15:34, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

Needs to be Revised: 99 Frequincy Table? Edit
Farming has a Frequincy of 70k and is ranked at 21. Shouldn't farming be ranked at 10 due to the higher frequincy? Stepcool8 20:49, April 5, 2011 (UTC)
Rarity of skills errors Edit
Someone needs to edit the rarity of the skills. They are many errors in the order they shoud appear.
The order of frequency has been flucutuating as of lately, leading to the inaccuracy of the table. I would advise editing or checking the table every time someone edits the template. Xyg94 21:39, April 10, 2011 (UTC)Xyg94

Obtaining a 99 Edit
I guess it maybe just me, but when someone obtains their fiest 99 it's like a dream come true. but it slowly fades away as time passes by. I always wonder, how about the people on the top? When they obtained all 99's. How did that feel like? I know this is probably the wrong place to post this, but I'm just wondering for all those getting 99's tell me how they felt when they got those last few xps.
ChiengBang 11:05 June 4, 2011
I don't have all 99's but getting a 99 feels great!
Dung profit Edit
I changed Dungeoneering to 0 star profitability, as there is no way to make a profit training the skill. Resource dungeons shouldn't count as they are not a part of training Dungeoneering.Trol slayer9 07:32, June 28, 2011 (UTC)
I added links to many of the players. The link will take players to rsplayers.wikia
Someone really needs to update this. The numbers listed for the amount of people with skillcapes are way, way off (for example, there are now 30k+ people with herblore capes).
What's the point of having a protected Wiki page if nobody ever updates it?
Will this continue to be updated with the "new and improved" hiscores update?
"Number of players at level 99 or more"
Should read "Number of members at level 99 or more"
This is not a rant, it is simply wrong
How many runecrafting level 99's on April 29, 2012?Edit
Does anyone know how many people had 99 runecrafting before the Runespan arrived on April 30, 2012?
I didn't check the highscores table on April 29, 2012, but my guess would be approximately 12,000?
The number of people with 99 runecrafting will soar post-April-30-2012, the Runespan accelerates runecrafting XP gain by a gigantic amount.
Does anyone have the exact number of people with 99 runecrafting on April 29, 2012?
Confirmed number of people with 99 runecrafting May 12, 2012 15:16 UTC = 15,208.
