killed like 40 of these, but no drops. on my main, i got on 2nd kill. is there some requirement for getting the robes? do you need recovs?

the only real requirement is you have to be able to survive taking damage from them while dealing enough damage on them to kill them. Axearmour1 23:07, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Drops are random, you could get a drop onyour first kill or your 50th. Zenihdrol 08:57, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

I noticed recently, whilst fighting a shade random event (highest or second highest combat level), that the experience I received from killing it was much less than should have been gained, given its large number of hitpoints. Perhaps this means that the experience granted from fighting this (and others, perhaps) random event could be based upon the lowest level of that random event. If any one else notices something similar, leave a note here.

The exp recieved is much less. See the Security Guard artical. I think it is 1/4 ex of what it normaly is.

Chances of Shades over Zombies?

I was training in the experiment lair and while i was burring bones, I got a shade random, when my hp was low, I teleported out, and then later i went back, and when I was burring bones I got another shade. It might have just been by chance, but it is kind of hard to believe since it happened 2 randoms in a row. This is the only time i've burried bones in morytania, but it might mean that your chance of getting a shade increases while in morytania. --Flame Sage66 21:43, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Getting the random

i wonder if u have a better chance of getting one during slayer, i've gotten 2 today while doing slayer(i've buried over 100 bones in succession) and 1 another time doing slayer. do they occur more during slayer or during buring multiple bones at a time? floppyc5 01:07, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Can be poisoned?

I was fighting a lv 120 shade and using a Dragon Dagger (p++) and I was unable to poison it. That's not a definite no, but it may be usable as a "Probably not." Dsctatom 21:14, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

Proposed merge

It seems to me that the Shade random event and [[Shade (monster)|Shade monster]] are one and the same. The Strange plant doesn't have seperate articles for it's former random event, it has a say in it's article with the "Gone" template under the section it's in. Why not do it for Shade?
