Yeah, thats true. I think it gave +1 magic more than a wizards hat and they got rid of it because they didn't want people with discontinued items to have an advantage like that. I'm not sure about that though

My friend has verefied for me that they give a +9 mage bonus on RSC 64.123.79.254 18:46, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

bankotsu2710 when santa hats first came out they were a mear 50k, by the next week 60k, within 2 months they were 200k, as the year presumed they had gone to 300k, the next cristmas it went to 1.4million, and as of now they are 23mill, and alas, i cannot afford one.

i'm so pissed off. when i started playing runescape i bought one for 150k and then sold it for a nice profit of 50k (so i sold it at 200k) i would have never of thought to get a profit of 19mil. i so wish i had held onto it

I don't get it... You bought it for 150K, and sold it for 50K, and ended up making a profit? It sounds like you wasted 100,000 gold.

He sold it for a profit of 50k. He didnt sell it for 50k.

Back in the day I had 2 and sold em for 150k ea..then quit and came back n they were like 25m n i almost soiled myself..

when i lent my santa hat to one person, after he put it on it made him bald... im not sure if this is the intended effect, but he was wearing dragonhide armor, full. this happened twice, once i lent it to a memeber wearing black dragonhide, and the second time to a non member wearing green dragon hide full. if any one can confirm this id appreciate it. Actualy, It happens when you let someone use it till you log out, then you take it back while it's being worn. It is not fixed, but it was also able to be used with h'ween masks. Cj Pichu Talk 01:00, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

"The Santa hat is also known as the most popular holiday event item." Was there some kind of a survey or poll done on this? Is it a conclusion somehow based on the relative trade rates or prices of holiday items on the Grand Exchange? Or is it a random claim plucked out of the air based on one person's opinion? Please leave your opinion here whether the Santa hat is your favourite holiday item - there may be a consensus that it is true, in which case we can leave it in the article untagged. I think it's in there as the most popular event item because it's relatively cheap compared to the others, it's been around for awhile, and is probably the most worn holiday item.
