I don't know whether I should delete this outright or just move it to "List of Runes"... Opinions? Oddlyoko 08:37, 8 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Keep it here. The list isn't long enough to be put in a separate article, we just need to put more info in this one. --X1011 15:21, 8 Nov 2005 (UTC)
Images
Edit
Should the rune images be beside their name in this page or should they just be in their own articles, similiar to the way Skills looks? --Richard1990 19:47, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
yes, put them in. --X1011 21:13, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
Life rune
Edit
Posted by 165.111.2.149
- Hidden runes: There was a secret rune in runescape classic called the "Life Rune" that had a picture of a sun on it that was rumoured to be used in the necromancy skill. The image was tucked away deep in Jagex's image directory and was found out to exist by illegal means.
Can anyone confirm/deny? -- Couchpotato99 (talk) (contribs) 21:16, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
I've heard about this multiple times on the forums though I don't think Jagex ever officially confirmed it. All the people mentioning it had similar descriptions of the rune and all mentioned its future use in necromancy, so there probably is a hint of truth behind the rumours.
- Sounds like something very old that was never introduced, I heard that prayer was originally called necromancy. --Eucarya Talk 10:28, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
The life rune was added to the game Runescape classic and wasn't really a secret. This was replaced when Jagex created the current runescape and renamed it the soul rune and changed the image.
Messy now
Edit
Don't want too much overlap with Runecrafting, but maybe an extra table columm for free craftable, member craftable or currently non-craftable would be tidier. Other ideas? Ace of Risk 18:13, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
Though this page does sufficiently tell us what kinds of runes exist, it neglects to answer the important question of what ARE runes.... what ARE they? Vrael Windu 18:58, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
- Does the KB even say what they are? Aren't they just magical stones?--Richard (Talk - Contribs) 18:59, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
Mind Rune
Edit
Are they really used in Ancient Magicks?--71.136.244.105 17:53, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- The spells table doesn't show them in any of the spells, so I guess not.--Richard 17:55, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- Nope.

Mysterious rune?
Edit
Looks like a water rune to me.

- Yes, I've seen it too. It's weird, it looks indeed, kinda like a water rune, but not quite. Anyone have any other thoughts? (P.s. seen during the Meeting History quest) . . . Yours,

SVG runes
Edit
I'm frankly a bit annoyed that an admin went out to delete perfectly good official versions of the detailed runes and instead imposed his own cheesy-looking SVG traced copies onto nearly every rune article, completely missing the fact that runes aren't perfectly round and that they should be represented in 3D in the first place. Needless to say I removed them because they just don't match up to the quality of the previous versions (which were for some reason deleted). If anyone could restore the official Jagex originals that would be great.
Seriously, this just looks wrong. I don't know if he was going for anti-aliasing or something, but I'd rather take the real versions any day. Oh and BTW if you resize them up in a vector graphics editor they just look messed up. SVG is so not the way to represent RS graphics. --♦♦

Vector details?
Edit
Should the rune details be the current SVGs or the stuff we pulled from the GED? See below...

Support SVGs - But keeping the originals would be good too (as a pervious version or something maybe).

Support SVGs - Looks more smoother, while still looking like the current rune design.

RSC Mystery Rune... GONE?!
Edit
Okay, so I was on RuneScape Wiki about five or six days ago, and I noticed that there was a rune from RuneScape Classic! It's now gone, and I was wondering what in (or out of) Gielinor it is? As I mentioned before, it's now gone... and I was wondering what is is, and where it went... Any information would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Trivia
Edit
I'm not sure if it's a graphics gltich, but if you drop multiple runes at the same spot, they show through each other. This inspired me to drop one of each of the 20 runes on the ground and see what it looked like. The results are as follows:
It is apparently a combination of body, blood, and soul runes, and when I droped just those, I got the same result. Not sure if it merits it, but this could be something to include in the trivia section...

Armadyl
Edit
I realise this is an odd little theory, but I was considering the extant runes, and wondered why the hell law runes were used in teleportation spells. What has Law to do with movement? I can't remember if this is conjecture or actual fact, but I swear I read somewhere that Entrana was, at one point, Armadyl's land. So.. law runes in the name of Armadyl? It would make sense, then, that they were used in teleports and telekinetic grab, since each (in a way) involves flight. Same with the portal in the Clan Camp. I realise it might have no place or purpose on the wiki, but it's an idea that interests me. Anyone else? - Phoenixjo 11:36, February 24, 2012 (UTC)
