Do you need the corrosponding Runecrafting lvl to have the poches drop? I have 40 Rcrafting, got the med. pouch fairly fast, but I haven't gotten a large pouch drop yet, can anyone confirm this?

- No, you just need to talk to the Dark mage in the Abyss and he'll fix it for free. I'll add this in the article, I was pretty surprised to find out it wasn't mentioned!

"Pouch hunting"[]
I really think there is sth wrong with the pouch hunting equipment suggested here... I mean, if you are willing to bring a 400k (that sounds also a bit underpriced) cannon and 300 cannon balls, it doesn't cost much to add at least some cheap d'hide armor (currently I use green because I'll end my P2P soon).

I've found pouch hunting in the fairy ring abyss to be quick and easy. If I lose my pouches it takes about 5 minutes to get a new set.

I have a question:
Can I have 2 of the same kind of pouch?
No, you may only have 1 of each pouch. Also, the Dwarf Multicannon states that a cannon CANNOT be set up in the abyss. Can someone please confirm this? Thanks.

Pouches disappear on death[]
Like the ava's attractor and other quest items these pouches will all disappear on player death.

Large pouch[]
It doesn't mention this on any sites I've seen, but I just got 50 runecrafting and large pouches can't even store pure essence! Do you need a few more levels, or do they just suck?
- Just added the KB articles; you should be able to carry 9. Make sure you are not trying to carry both. "Pouches are able to carry either pure essence or rune essence, but not both at once." Chrislee33 23:01, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
It definitely doesn't have any regular essence in it already, if i click empty it says it already is, but if i click fill it says it can only store normal essences.
Drop Rate[]
I have been killing leeches by the hundred, and have yet to see a medium pouch... any one have an idea why> i have been killing them in the abyss, and have done it for more than thirty minutes, with no dropsCorhen 20:56, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Pouch decay[]
I think it'd be interesting to get a better quantitative idea of the decay rate. So here I go (add yours!):
- RC lvl 60, using 3 pouches (s/m/l), started decaying after 30 or 31 uses (not sure) Patheticcockroach(Talk) 14:34, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
- It decays within 10 full uses (120 essences) for the giant pouch, 29 full uses (261 essences) for the large pouch and 45 full uses (270 essences) for the medium pouch. The small pouch doesn't decay.
if you repair a pouch before it starts degrading, does the timer reset? Yes, it does reset the timer.
- The page says the largest pouch in your possession decays first. However I was using large and medium for a while, and then (before anything had decayed) I switched to giant and large. After a few trips the large decayed. So it seems they all decay; the fact that the largest one normally decays first is just a result of it decaying faster. Stewbasic 22:36, September 6, 2010 (UTC)

An uncommon drop?[]
In the article it says that the pouch is an uncommon drop. I've been fighting the guardians for 1,5h (I'm level 101, so I've killed a lot of them) and still I haven't received even a small pouch! Is it normal?
- No, it's not really normal. When I searched for pouches, I got them all in about that amount of time. Have you done the abyss miniquest? It should give you a small pouch, and may be required to receive them as a drop. Ben RyfosTalk 08:11, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
- No, I haven't done it. Maybe this is the point. I'll do the miniquest before killing any more abyssal monster.
- Edit: I did the miniquest. And now 10 minutes of killing were enough for me to get a medium pouch. It should be mentioned in the main article.
- I can confirm the above. I went to the Abyss through the Fairy Rings, and killed hundreds of Guardians (100+ abyssal charms) without even the small pouch dropping. Then I completed the Abyss miniquest, and got all pouches in less than 10 minutes (5 abyssal charms, last one dropping on the same kill as the Giant pouch). Kuuri 21:36, July 15, 2011 (UTC)

May we get a table showing the decay rates if using Repair Rune Pouch spell?As far as I know, using the spell increases their life by 500%. I don't know how to make tables in this but...
I do know this:
Medium Pouch = 5*45 = 225 uses til first decay.
Large Pouch = 5*29 = 145 uses til first decay.
Giant Pouch = 5 * 10 = 50 uses til first decay.

Giant Pouch 10 or 12 uses?[]
Does it degrade after 10 or 12 uses? Another article on this Wikia claims 12 but this claims 10. Which is correct? Puretppc (talk) 02:01, October 4, 2014 (UTC)
Decaying charge[]
So if it fills up it decays. Does it have to be filled with 12 essences (cap for each Giant Pouch charge) or can you fill with 11 and it still uses 1 charge? Puretppc (talk) 03:08, October 26, 2014 (UTC)
- As pouches decay, their capacity decreases. Eventually they won't hold anything. Usually people fix them as soon as they start to decay. --User:Saftzie/Signature 03:31, October 26, 2014 (UTC)
