Wow, Bob, you're fast. Anyway, you left out the Mod Hasmo Riot. I put it in. Should Aftermath of the Bounty Hunter update and World 111 Glitch be kept? I think that the bounty hunter riot should be merged with the 10th December riots, and the World 111 Glitch is more of a massacre.

Sorry, I would just like to suggest a RiotWatch, like, everyone on the RS Wiki can go to a certain page and report the beginnings of riots to warn people about them?? Just a suggestion/ =) 23:11, 13th February 2008. (UTC)

What certain page? You mean, go on RuneScape and look for riots? Most aren't important enough to be notewothy.
  1. REDIRECT User:C Teng/sig 00:14, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

There is a riot in runescape now. Would this riot be documented soon?

There are hundreds of riots. The RuneScape Wiki only documents the major and well-known ones. User:C Teng/sig 22:23, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Pics[]

I am currently in f2p getting screenies of the june 5th riot i'm a newbie to wikias so if someone could start the article i'll add pictures  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.156.167.68 (talk).

The article is called Wilderness Riot. User:C Teng/sig 20:30, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Summarization[]

I'm reinstating my edits from the other day if C Teng can't be bothered to answer me. Planeshifted 15:57, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

What? I only reverted your edits because we hadn't decided to delete the riots. User:C Teng/sig 23:13, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

New Riot (Graphic Updates Riot)[]

There is a fairly large riot that may need an article. It is in world 1 Varrock. It is for the RS Updates. --Starkid120 20:16, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

I was there. I took a screenshot. User:C Teng/sig 20:23, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Pink Skirt Riot[]

Is this a real riot? User:C Teng/sig 16:28, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes, it is.Yefpatterson 14:16, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

All recent riots had pink skirts in them. And it's not on the list. I think it was minor (probably just another random PK riot). User:C Teng/sig 22:18, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
I'm taking it off the list. This wiki doesn't cover every single riot; there have been thousands. We only list major riots, and the Pink Skirt Riot was small. User:C Teng/sig 02:08, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Opinion[]

What is Your opinion on Riots? I say they are stupid and a waste of time. Riots just show how stupid people are in going in a world and saying "No pk=no play!" And stuff like that. These riots will hopefully stop.Yefpatterson 14:16, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

They won't stop, even though Jagex has frequently told people that no matter how much people protest, the old Wilderness will never come back. But people still keep rioting. I participate in riots sometimes, but I support Jagex (and get called a noob a lot, too). User:C Teng/sig 22:20, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Wow. I was wrong. The Wildy is back! User:C Teng/sig 12:46, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Well the fact that the wilderness is back to normal is probably more due to the calmer playes asking nicley than it is to the riots. Voruse 18:42, March 11, 2011 (UTC)

Dec. 10[]

I think there may be a riot on Dec. 10 seeing as it's the anniversary of the wilderness changes. If there is, I'll try to be there as neutral (I wish Jagex had kept the wildy, but I don't wanna get banned), and I'll get some screenshots. ~ Fire Surge icon Sentry Telos Talk

Runetek5 Update Riot[]

Im sure a riot will happen today, so be ready to add it

Strange Event[]

I heard that people were trying to stir up a riot after the strange event that happened today, where every player, free play and members were lifted into the air and surrounded with a red mist for a second. They also recieved the message "A strange power has worked upon you." Just thought it'd be worth mentioning. 72.49.27.34 21:09, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Current riot happening in Falador. It's getting nasty. 72.49.27.34 21:09, January 23, 2010 (UTC)

Fiighter torso[]

C'mon..a riot of 11 people is not a riot...Wall ike 01:57, February 7, 2010 (UTC)

You really should add the Strange Power riot[]

It's a legitimate riot, there were quite a few people there. I think it was in world 66 too, you'd have to check it but yeah. Mod Mark H was also supposedly there. 65.89.42.202 01:17, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

Who keeps deleting the Constitution/Hitpoints Riot pic?[]

Stop deleting it!

This riot is small, unorganized, and stupid as well. Not worth documenting.--Degenret01 22:11, March 3, 2010 (UTC)

You call this small and stupid? The whole Falador is full of people rioting! Just check it out!

You are wrong, if you think the riot is small Degenret you clearly have not visited the official forums or been to any worlds where it is taking place. I also question your motives for deleting it. You consider it not worth documenting, that is your opinion, one in which I do not see you providing adequate justifictation for destroying the work of others (example, deleting the content)

Just adding on to what they said, but this riot was huge, and even if you and I and probably hundreds others think its stupid it deserves its place on the riot page. Also, what happened to all the f2p riots we had up there? I distinctly remember there being at least 3.65.89.42.202 19:13, March 6, 2010 (UTC)

I think Degenret is brining his own personal bias into this. This is defiantly worth documenting. This riot is like any other. Also to call it unorganized and small is completely upsurd. Riots don't get planned, they just happen. This was the same size as any riot also, and calling it stupid just because you like the update doesn't mean it should be deleted. I'm bringing it back. Bttb333 19:56, March 6, 2010 (UTC)

I would like to add that I agree. I too would consider it a notable riot. I actually searched the wiki for information on such a riot, since I've come across many people who do not like it. Surely, this is worth a mention as it regards a fairly controversial(from what I've seen, both on forums and in-game) update. I myself would like a chance to gloss over the pic, but I can't seem to find it in the revisions. ~Godz Luck 13:18, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

I have readded the information. If you want to revert it, DON'T. Talk about it here. I personally came here to the riot page to find information as well as many others. I think the majority of people who have discussed it here want to keep it. Bttb333 22:31, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

I uploaded a pic of the riot as 2010 constitution riot Runed scope 17:20, March 9, 2010 (UTC)

Can sum1 just ban Degenret 4 vandalism and put up the stupid constitution riot!? (AtheistMetal)

Degenret is an admin, it's not vandalism, and I agree that it was a stupid riot. HaloTalk 20:16, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
Surely it doesn't matter what someone's opinion of the riot is, but whether it was an important riot (it lasted as long as many of the other riots (see my other comment)). I think the wilderness/trade limit riots were stupid, but they were major riots (like the constitution riot), you don't see me deleting them.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JohnGlave (talk) on 14:25, 22 March 2010.
As I said, take up it with him. HaloTalk 20:28, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

I've added it back in, if anyone thinks that it shouldn't be there because it was small. Then please consider removing the following riots from the page: 14 Hour Riot, PVP Glitch Riot, and The Protect Item Riot. Slayer-iconJohnGlaveSlayer helmet 20:09, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

It isn't very well written , such as the others are, and therefore doesn't contribute much to the article. It has been removed several times with good reason, and it should stay that way. Talk to Degenret if you have problem with it. HaloTalk 20:25, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
Than would you mind if we rewrote it? Also It's completely unfair that a single editor has a final say on what goes on the page and what does not. Please explain to me why Degenret's opinion outweighs ours. Bttb333 21:40, March 22, 2010 (UTC)
Agreed. I'm sick of admin who play god. Unjustified removal is still vandalism, admin or not. As said above by numerous people, this riot was important in many players eyes and lasted a sufficient time to be documented. Leave this riot in please. Borrarcher 01:35, February 1, 2011 (UTC)

The 2010 riot was a very important riot in runescape history please leave the article in as is at no cost to you. Stupid 376 19:28, April 5, 2010 (UTC)

I litrally can't believe that people think that the riot is not worth noticing, from what I'd heard, the people involved were greater than the protect item riot. For crying out loud, leave it in, I see no reason why someone's personal opinion should be forced on people. Explorer's ring 3Btzkillerv has entered the building! 2010 Riot[]

I think maybe it might be worthwhile to mention the 2010 riot that has been organised by Zamoraks0n on youtube. So far it has vast numbers of supporters and they are even organised to the point of having a different costume for supporters and leaders. They are going to be dressed in full bronze and full iron, the latter for leaders. It has been set up to have specific worlds and there is already a path that they want to follow. If you want to see videos explaining how it will happen youtube: 2010 riot invite. Or something close to that.

It has been prepared to happen the 20th of march. Originally it was going to be the 16th, but organisers had to change for some unknown reason.

05:44, March 5, 2010 (UTC)

I think we should wait for it to occur before we document it. ~Godz Luck 13:20, March 7, 2010 (UTC)

It happened, on June 11 ~Dingo

Musa Point Riot[]

Originally at Talk:Musa Point Rioting

shouldn't this be part of the article Musa Point, not a separate article? 24.2.50.127 04:49, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

It shouldn't be noted at all, really. It's not a big deal, as it hasn't changed the game's history whatsoever. User:Lil diriz 77/Signatures 05:01, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Well, I could see it as being trivia on the Musa Point page, but after being reduced in length. As for it "not changing history", lots of things in this wiki could be considered the same. Like most of the trivia. So having this as trivia would just be an interesting fact for the area, nothing more. Something like "this is an area where many f2ps riot against their lack of good fishing spots" would be acceptable.

--Phasmatys flag Rebel Ry Bonesack(e) 06:06, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

Well, if you'd really like to add that to the article, I won't stop you Lol But in my opinion, I still think it's unneeded. User:Lil diriz 77/Signatures 06:13, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
Forum:Riots is currently what we do whenever a riot occurs. There is already a sentence that summarised he entire article at Riot#F2P-related Riots and Protests, so I deleted the page outright. Unicorn horn dust Evil Yanks talk 06:16, April 12, 2010 (UTC)

April 19, 2010 Forum Reshuffle Riot[]

I think that the riot occuring on 4/19/10 on World 13 concerning the Forums Reshuffle should be included in this list. While small, the backlash due to the update continued for days afterward. Green partyhatRS King91395 Quest point cape

Rock Climbing Boot Riot[]

"The reason most players were actually angry is because of the fact that "Mod Mark H" warned people in the "Smokin mils" clan chat to try and buy out the climbing boots. This resulted in billions of gp being put into the game and many many very angry players."...Is this actually true? Can it be verified? Blaze fire12 23:09, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

There is 0 chance that it could possibly be true unless astoundingly convincing evidence surfaces, which is of course impossible since its not true! http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu33/Psycho_Robot/Sigs%20and%20Avatars/kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar 23:14, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Protect Item 'Riot'[]

Protect Item Riot[]

Taking place on 15 July 2009, it concerned an update where players could no longer use the protect-item prayer in PvP/Bounty Hunter worlds and were automatically skulled, meaning that there was much greater risk to losing expensive items. The updates were enacted to prevent players from using high hitting special attacks while risking next to nothing, a very popular tactic in PvP situations which many players were upset to lose.

> The updates were enacted to prevent players from using high hitting special attacks while risking next to nothing, a very popular tactic in PvP situations which many players were upset to lose.

> The updates were enacted to prevent players from using high hitting special attacks

No l0l, the update was to prevent players from gaining EP easily (1 iteming with barrow gloves, turning on protect item when attacked)

Removal of riot pages[]

What's the point of this? Are we going to pretend they never happened?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.3.154.230 (talk).

If we were doing that, why would they be listed on this article? --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 03:09, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

Are some riots necessary?[]

Looking through the list of riots I can see why people would be angry from removing PKing and free trade. But others, like the plummeting fish prices riot; are they really needed? I suppose people make great money from fish, but then there's the Constitution riot. That's simply a rant to be put on the forums. I don't think multiplying hit points by 10 is in need of a riot. Some players just don't get it.--Law rune Mac5130 Fire rune 03:52, January 25, 2011 (UTC)

Bias[]

I believe that saying that people who join riots are largely misinformed of the intent of updates/are individuals who succumb to peer pressure is not only bias, but also offensive towards users who do participate in such activities. Regardless of your view on the effectiveness and morality of in-game riots, I believe that it should be removed.

Refer a Friend Riot[]

Maybe this deserves a topic in itself? It's only been 24 hours and the main topic has run to 10,000 posts, this may well be the biggest riot since the pay-to-pk

Notability[]

We currently have 32 riots listed on the article, which seems a bit excessive. Does anyone else think we should reexamine, and perhaps toughen up, the notability requirements for a riot to be featured on this page? --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 21:02, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

For sure. Not only are many not notable, but most are poorly written, randomly added riots that people just add to express their anger. Perhaps we should just redirect it to RuneScape since it seems everyone is pissed these days. MolMan 21:05, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
Along with this, I don't think we need all the stupid images we have; 1 image is enough to get the feel of what a riot looks like. MolMan 21:17, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Possible new riot/ mute as of 2012-09-01[]

While doing a search for the ChatWatch mute bug that muted the entire Grand Exchange of World 2, I came across a much more recent thread discussing muted worlds.

It was created today.

Muted Worlds, started by Decembers, has two initial posts saying that Worlds 66 and 2 are reportedly muted.

Someone added a mention of this to the article already. Can anyone else confirm?
