Talk:Recipe for Disaster

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

Wow, I'm so glad someone did this rather than me! That looked like a *lot* of work! --Eucarya 21:13, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

  • blushes* Thanks. It was fun to write though. Hopefully someone can add images later. Dtm142 18:37, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Creme brulee

Says in the article that you'll die without ice gloves when cooking it. This is not true. I got flamed without ice gloves, but had an anti-dragonfire shield and therefore didn't receive much damage. Can someone clarify if you actually do die without either item? Cool Spy0 20:46, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

You DONT'T EVEN NEED ice gloves to do the subquest. I did it without ice gloves. When I did it with no gloves at all, I got about 4 damage. With normal gloves, I could hold the item, but It had to cool in my bank. The article now talks abou this. -- Carralpha - The cook with a cape
Should we put the quest complete certificate for every sub-part? Or just the last 'un? Momento Mori Real PainNot Champagne19:55, 7 May 2007 (UTC)~
If you can get one for all 10 parts, put all 10 in. Dtm142 22:09, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
I just started the first part today so I'll try and get all 10 of them Redekopmark (talkcontribs) forgot to sign this comment on 2007-05-21T18:22:35.

[edit] Please?

Can you please put in here someone, the requirements to do every part of the quest, and the total reward from all the quests. Not just at each part, but a total of each, so people like me can get all the requirements then knock it over in one go.Jagexowner 13:01, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Please rewrite the ogre quest because information is inaccurate when followed and does not specifically point out what to do. 69.151.152.210 (talkcontribs) forgot to sign this comment on 2007-07-06T03:59:05.

Could you please indicate which parts need fixing (or edit the guide yourself)? Dtm142 00:48, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Spice

For the Gnome Generals' part, do players need spice or gnome spice? Will either do, or are they the same item? The intro in this article seems to conflict with the walk-through. Leevclarke 22:37, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

This section has been removed for inapropriate language.

[edit] Agility Course

This quest isn't required in order to use the agility course, I did the course multiple times before I even started RFD. Quest MasterTexan H B K Quest Master 10:32, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tchici monkey nuts?

For some reason every time I try to get them it says there aren't any on the bush right now I've got the snake and I've got the banana and sliced it up I've also tried to switch worlds and that didn't help, anyone know why its doing this to me?Majindeath1 23:37, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

I had the same problem, you must show the normal monkey nuts to the 3 monkeys, that way they will tell you that you need thichi monkey nuts, that way you'll be able to grab them.

[edit] Saywhat?

"Originally, there was yet another subquest to complete involving Osman, however, due to delays in this subquest, it was not released and was instead replaced with Osman getting teleported to ScapeRune. This quest was released as the Sorceress's Garden's minigame later. This probably explains why Osman is obsessed with sq'irks and why the dragon and barrows gloves are unlocked at once."

Well, [citation needed], plus how does this explain anything about sq'irks? Also, Barrows and Dragon gloves aren't even unlocked at the same time. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 00:29, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

I'm removing it since without all those points answered, the evidence would suggest a lie. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 13:58, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
You waited less than a day for a reply, so really, you didn't give anyone a chance to post here. I've reverted your edits, as you have no proof that it IS a lie. Stinkowing (WHAT'S IN IT?)
No-one ever replies to anything I discuss, regardless of how long I wait. Besides, information without citation should be removed on sight. I have no proof that you don't build alien robots in your spare time, but if someone told me I wouldn't automatically believe them. You've got to prove it's true, not prove that it's a lie. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 11:10, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Elsewhere, Osman has been miserably staring into his empty glass of sq’irk juice. For years he was able to deal directly with the sorceress to provide his favourite tipple, before their disagreement over prices. Since then, Osman has tried desperately to find out how she grows them, but the secret is so well kept that not even Al Kharid's spymaster can find it. Osman will soon be forced into adopting a more devious approach; and for that he will need your help. Once you work out how to get into the concealed garden, it will be up to you to watch the patrolling guards and sneak past for the fruity rewards. Different seasons will affect each of the gardens, and you’ll find that more experienced thieves will have access to the more bountiful sq’irk trees. You will also be able to grab handfuls of herbs on the way - if you’re not interested in supplying Osman with his favourite thirst-quenching treat.

Nothing at all about it being part of RFD. That's from the BTS. The article for the releases of RFD, Sorceresses Garden and the RFD BTS say nothing about it, either. So where did they get their info from, hmm? JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 11:19, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Also, you didn't explain why you re-added the nonsense sentence at the end, about the sq'irks and the gloves. I'm definitely removing the bit about the gloves as it's citably factually inaccurate - I'm sure we both know that both gloves aren't unlocked at the same time. [edit] trivia?

Is there any relation of the title of the quest to the book "recipies for disaster: an anarchist cookbook" (2004) or is it a simple coincidence that they almost share a name? 67.184.97.111 06:20, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

The term "Recipe for disaster" is a very common phrase for a situation comprised of a series of elements that are likely to create bad results. As such, the fact that both use the phrase "recipe for disaster" is no more significant than the fact that "The DaVinci Code" and "The Great Gatsby" both have the word "The" in their titles.  Psycho Robot Talk Cont File:Guthix vrobe top.png 06:29, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Defeating the culrinaromancer

I decided to test whether you actually lose all items on death.
I took 4 gp into the portal, died, and a gravestone appeared right next to the portal.
I tried it for all of the bosses and it worked everytime
I've finished the quest now, but can anyone else please try it to see if it works for them too?

[edit] Order of Completion

Do you have to do all the sub quests in order or can you jump around? Recoswabie 00:08, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

You can do them in any order you like. --Iiii I I ITalk 00:09, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

But if i only do the Sir Amir one, do i skip up to (or only) rune gloves? Recoswabie 00:12, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

If you do one subquest, you can buy up to bronze gloves. If you do two, you can buy up to iron. If you do three, you can buy up to steel, et cetera. --Iiii I I ITalk 00:15, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

All right. Thanks for clearing that up for me :)Recoswabie 00:18, November 11, 2009 (UTC)

No problem. =D --Iiii I I ITalk 00:19, November 11, 2009 (UTC)
