This talk page is for discussing the Raw lobster page.

Untitled

I don't know who edited the price of a raw lobster, but it certainly isn't 9.000.000 GP!

Lol?

The price of lobsters, as well as many other fish and to a greater extent, everything, was rumored to skyrocket during the summer, especially in July. However, the rumors were false.

Merge

This is the only fish article that has a separate page for its raw & cooked counterpart. I don't see why it can't all be in the Lobster article. --220.237.38.125 05:31, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

I disagree. In an ideal world, each item would have its own article, and since "lobster" and "raw lobster" are different items (with different monetary values, etc.), they should have separate articles. Other items have raw and cooked versions in the same article because there may not be enough info to warrant separate articles, and the raw version article usually just redirects to the cooked version's article. This is really just a temporary measure until the articles are expanded. In other words, we should be looking to split the other articles into raw and cooked versions, not merging this one.
At least, this is my understanding of the situation. ;-) Leevclarke 16:19, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
But do a separate price and color really warrant a completely different article? It would be so easy to just put 201 (cooked) 150 (raw) instead of making a whole new page for it. 72.240.163.23 06:20, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Merge - I rather have all the info in one article so I don't need to swap from the cooked article to the raw article to see comparison for prices or equipment needed to catch raw fish when I want the cooked fish to eat. Also would be nice to see the drops for raw and cook in one article for comparison; I sometimes wonder if the drops for cooked lobster is really raw lobster. Chrislee33 08:51, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Merge - Most of the other fish items are merged into one page, i.e. tuna, trout, salmon. I don't see why this one shouldn't be either. I also have to agree with Chrislee33 that finding the collective information on one page is much easier. As I DK 06:17, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Merge - I must agree. As raw lobsters have no purpose except to cook them (or sell them to someone who will cook them) in the overwhelming majority of circumstances, and are not quest-only items, they should be in one article for the sake of convenience and consistency. Merge - Same as Mahvra, Chrislee, and IP man.

Article Merged

I've merged the articles together. Grim reaper hood Ben RyfosTalk 16:15, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

With greatest respect, Ben (I hope that is your real name), I have undone this - the merger had been done before, but Wowbagger421 undid it on 2008-01-05T04:04:39, stating that "Policy is to have a page for each item". See RuneScape talk:Granularity under "Complete granularity" for more info. Leevclarke 02:28, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
That was mainly because there wasn't enough votes when it was first merged. Now there are enough votes, and a consensus has been reached, so the merge should stay. Also see RS:IAR. If you want to split it back, make a new discussion about it here, and wait for a new consensus. --Drummer (speak) 15:13, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, faced with a consensus to merge and the "Ignore all rules" policy, I have no choice but to concede here. Personally, I still think that raw lobster and cooked lobster count as separate items, but as the overwhelming majority disagree, I will leave the articles merged. Many thanks for your input, especially the IAR policy. :-) Leevclarke 21:39, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
