Passwords are not case sensative[]

Passwords are not case sensative, any attempt to login with a password that is normally all lowercase with one that is all capitals or CaMeL cAsE will succeed with no prompt stating you have not used the correct password.

Why not...?[]

Why not use passwords for multiple accounts? If someone finds a password for my account named 120frogs120*, it would be impossible for them to figure out that out of all runescape accounts, the account robohead* is also my account and then guess that maybe it has the same pass. And thats just discussing runescape, not even factoring in all the twitter, facebook, email, youtube, maplestory, wiki, world of warcraft, etc accounts that I may use the same password for but have no other obvious connection to me. Perhaps we should remove that?

  • those are both fake names, not my accounts nor do I know their owners. 75.174.232.88 20:01, October 13, 2010 (UTC)
There's no need to remove it. It's good advice, and it doesn't hurt to refrain from using the same password for everything.  Tien  20:13, October 13, 2010 (UTC)

It is recommended that players do not attempt this, as an unintentional misspelling of your password can give make it obvious what your password is. For instance, if you made your password "sharks", whenever you would try to say, "buying 20 sharks" or something like that, nobody would see what you wanted to buy.

I can't understand the point being made here. A password changed form "sharks" to (say) "skarks" would only be given away if you mistyped "sharks" as "skarks" in chat and someone was watching. "Skarks" is definitely much safer, even if not as safe as soemthing like "sixstrongsharks" might be. Rich Farmbrough, 00:52 24 January 2014 (UTC).
