Over 40kb long? Edit

I think we need to break up this article, as its over 40kb long. Anyone have any ideas on how to break it up?

FYI, its 41kb now! --  az talk   16:09, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Research Edit

If someone was intending to research all of this personally, or somerthing, do be aware that there's a list with locations in the Knowledge Base... JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 10:08, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Oh ok good...this would take forever! Dreadnought 18:10, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
We could always have ours in more depth, make it better than the KB one. Especially 'cos we can respond to player feedback about which ones need more details. Oh, and don't forget to indent when you reply. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 18:16, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
We could just use the one at http://tip.it/runescape/?page=music_locations.htm ?--Atlantima 01:46, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Updated Edit

Look what I did! Yay, happy! But, I am too lazy to put the links in :(! Anyone want to help? Navij11 22:33, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Done!

Our list is now complete with all the music, just checked the in-game music screen (just need the locations now). Even the KB is missing the 4 garden music from Sorceress's Garden . Chrislee33 05:29, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Finished adding locations from KB, still a lot of tracks that are listed in the ingame music control that are not listed in KB. Chrislee33 20:15, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

What is number of music?Edit

Does someone already know how many music tracks there are? Otherwise, I will go ahead and count them later, thanks. Chrislee33 18:57, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Counted 451. Chrislee33 20:45, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
counted 453. Chrislee33 07:11, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Other fansite music guidesEdit

List them here instead of in article as ours will be more up-to-date.

Missing location and/or eventEdit

Missing the following.... Chrislee33 07:38, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

  • The Depths found in KB under the 'T's Chrislee33 19:49, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Floating Free (I believe not 100% sure that this is the Freaky Forester event.)
Freaky forester already has the Pheasant Peasant music track. Enlightened Journey with the hot air balloon doesn't seem to have any music track yet. Since the name matches with hot air ballooning, I'll go ahead and place this music with it. Chrislee33 05:45, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
It might also be with the Balloon transport system miniquest? Chrislee33 07:13, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Island of the Trolls - Northern area of Fremmenik isles. --Whiplash 20:18, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Joy of the Hunt - Woodland Hunter area. --Whiplash 20:18, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Jungle Bells - Played during Christmas event 2006 near Karamja volcano. --Whiplash 20:18, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Magic, Magic, Magic - Tower of Life second and third floors. --Whiplash 20:18, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
  • The Mollusc Menace - when in Witchaven Chrislee33 20:05, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
By the way I didn't add those so go ahead :P.--Whiplash 20:23, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for finding them. Chrislee33 21:44, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Oh, and the cavern music is NOT present in the wilderness near red spiders. I checked. The KB is wrong. I'll add it in. Mathwhiz90601 00:57, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

countEdit

added subtotal counts as comments in article

# 1, A 25, B 21 C 30 D 36 E 18 F 27 G 21 H 18 I 18 J 11 K 4 L 28 M 38 N 12 O 9 P 14 Q 2 R 18 S 55 T 29 U 8 V 8 W 25 X 1 Y 1 Z 3 total = 481 double checked on this page. Chrislee33 21:28, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Also double checked that all songs in game match all songs in article. Listing is complete. Chrislee33 21:52, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

A few errors in the list and two quick questionsEdit

Earlier today, I went through the list to see if there was any music that I haven't unlocked yet in the F2P. While going down the list, I noticed a few errors of music where there wasn't a (m) to indicate it was members only. Unfortunately since I was busy listing the music I hadn't unlocked yet, I wasn't listing those that were missing a (m) but I do remember two having to do with the Dream Mentor quest. Also, I have four unlocked tunes which the guide says is members only.

On to the two questions:

1. A few of the tunes that are still locked came from places I had already been (such as sections of the Wildy and Melzar's Maze) so did Jagex add new music to these old sections? Or move some music around (which would explain why I have four of them unlocked) Is this notable enough to include in the article?

2. I clearly remember reading about a tree in, I believe Rimmington, that had one square in four corners that when you stood on it, played different music. Perhaps this too could explain my four unlocked member music. I looked at the usual sites and I couldn't find this info anymore. Does anyone else remember this? Is it a glitch that got fixed and so the fan sites removed that bit of trivia? Does anyone remember what four tunes got unlocked?

Thanks--208.97.117.154 23:41, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

1. Jagex did recently add music to Melzar's Maze (just enter to get it) and some new wilderness areas such as a huge volcano.
2. It was probably a glitch. Dtm142 23:42, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick response! For the tree though, do you remember what music it unlocked or do you know of a site that still has that info?

--208.97.117.154 00:00, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

No, I'm afraid I've never heard of it. Sorry. Dtm142 00:03, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

F2P users can access some member songs via the gnomecopter tours; does anyone have a full list of these? Also, Bounty Hunter 3 does not unlock automatically in F2P with entry into the high level area; does anyone know how to get this, or is it possibly P2P only? Thanks Delta46 04:54, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

A possible addition?Edit

Some music can be unlocked in more than one place such as Alone (Black Knight's Fortress/Clocktower Dungeon), Lullaby (Digsite/west of Sinclair Mansion) and Nightfall (south of Falador/northern coast of Wilderness). Mr. Garrison 13:15, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

I've added them in, any problems then remove them. Mr. Garrison 13:19, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed total 521Edit

I printed the article several hours ago and compared it with the game listing. Found Jungle Troubles was missing which might have been added with the new update 13 February 2008. I counted 524 songs which is 3 more than previous. I added numbers for each letter including # (7th realm). RS Forums were counting 520-521 (Scape Summon was missing on the list, but back now) before the 13 Feb update. Can someone double check the numbers for each letter and total count? thanks Chrislee33 09:05, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

Found my error in the 'S' section as I included 3 other scape songs - total is 521. Chrislee33 04:14, 14 February 2008 (EST)
Found the trouble with missing Jungle Troubles which was over-written by error with an edit on 20:14, 5 February 2008 !!! . Chrislee33 16:52, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

possibility of hidden songs Edit

shortly after the update i received a message that said"you've received a new song:." in places ive been before such as the teleport matrix and after my GE items were updated.i also got the same message during eyes of glouphrie while watching the cutscene from the past. the thing that bugs me is that the songs name was just a period.Tacoguy4 00:12, 12 March 2008 (UTC)tacoguy4

Music count 530? instead of 529? Edit

Got all the music except the newest one Bittersweet Bunny. My music unlock count is 529 and Bittersweet Bunny is still red. So it seems the total is 530 instead of 529 since I last double checked when the total was 521 (see above). I'm doing the Easter event at the 'Getting the Chocolate chunks' part and the track is still red. I just double checked that all the tracks listed in this article matches the Music Player. Need to double check the math next.. later. Chrislee33 07:31, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

I just confirmed that Jagex can't count. It's 529. ~Jard Y Dooku, 71.168.74.150 15:44, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Jard and I have confirmed the bug by opening a new free account to compare the Music#Newbie_tracks (20) with the counter (21). The music counter is reading 1 more. You can test it yourself by counting your own list or opening a new account. Bug has been reported to Jagex by the both of us. Chrislee33 08:21, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Huh. Today's update and still not fixed... I tried to tell Mod Mark about it but all I got out of him was "hello" and no response about fixing the bug. Usually he responds promptly. Oh well. Perhaps a topic on the rants forum. :) ~Jard Y Dooku, 71.181.55.214 15:00, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Bittersweet Bunny now unlocked for newbies with 7 May update; counter still reading 1 more than actual: 21 green songs unlocked and counter reads 22. Chrislee33 03:36, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

"Knightmare" Edit

It says that, to unlock the song "Knightmare", one must pass either Black Knight's Fortress or the King's Ransom quest. However, I unlocked the song after attaining the rank of "White Knight Page" on Freeplay. Weird, huh? Chaoticar 01:18, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

Freeplay? Is that sort of private server? BrundtBro the Chieftain (talk) 17:24, January 3, 2013 (UTC)

"Requirement table" is out of date... Edit

At least I think so, missing the requirements for the Summer's End quest, which I am pretty sure is needed to unlock the music. That's why the {{obsolete}} template is there. --Magnea8 15:57, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Updated. I checked all the way back to the release date of Rocking Out quest. Only change was: Prayer and Quest point.   az talk   16:48, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

What about summoning? Isn't that needed higher for the Summer's End quest too? --Magnea8 20:02, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Oh, yeah. 23 Summoning. Fixed.   az talk   08:10, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Gaol Edit

Where can I find the track: Gaol? I searched north of bandit camp and nothing happened. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Turtle10 (talk) on 03:44, 7 November 2008 (UTC).

  • Up by the Chaos dwarves and around that forest thingy. Slayer helmet Kayteen7
    • I don't see it too. -.- 600613 02:59, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Updating "Requirement table" ... Edit

I only fill some part of the table. I will continued working in this part. Have a good day.

Theory on CavernEdit

In the official runescape list it says its f2p and can be found in the wilderness near red spiders. I don't think its these: the eastern ruins in the Wilderness, the rune rocks in the Wilderness. I think its referring to the ones in the Edgeville dungeon. Can a member check this?

got a friend to and the answer is nope... ill test more tomorrow

"Yeah, I got killed going around checking all the red spider spots in the game. I never got the track. Is it members only?" --Atomterrible 16:31, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

NPOV Edit

I'm removing the NPOV references as the persons adding the tag didn't even bother to discuss, I'll attempt to clean up any overt bias. ~kytti khat 02:07, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

Weird track unlockEdit

I'm doing the Sir Amik Varze section of Recipe for Disaster. I just killed the black dragon, grabbed the token, and spoke to the fairy dragon. It roasted my brulee, as usual, but when I exited the pseudo-cutscene it said I'd unlocked new music: Right on Track, which is apparently unlocked during Forgettable Tale of a Drunken Dwarf, a quest I have not done. My guess is that this track has the alternate unlock condition of summoning the fairy dragon; if so, maybe it should be noted in the article. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 03:54, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

The same thing happened to me, so your not just completely insane :).--Armadyl helmetLong Live ArmadylArmadyl helmet 12:28, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Get it rightEdit

Some people seem to think the expression 'Last Stand' originates from an X-Men movie. It doesnt. I have edited the real world allusions section so it more accurately describes the link between track names and the real world. -Paperwaluigi

== Musician Section ==http://images.wikia.com/common/releases_200912.2/skins/common/images

Whoever wrote the musician section messed something up. For one, he moved the auto unlocked songs, which I have already fixed, but his phrase about musicians implies that they are only found around Lumbridge and the digsite. I don't want to change it just incase he meant something different and just explained it wrong.--Armadyl helmetLong Live ArmadylArmadyl helmet 12:33, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

we should make each music have its own page?

Yes, we could, but what could we possibly say about all of them? Ruud (talk)(Suggest me naems) 08:14, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Tracklist Necessary? Edit

Seeing how there is already a page that has a list of all the tracks, will we still need the list on this page? We can instead post a link that will lead one to the tracklist page. --King x treme 00:13, December 14, 2009 (UTC)

Goblin Village Edit

I saw the newly released article about Silent Knight and another few songs, and i saw that before the history of the articled song started, there was the history of the song Goblin Village. Why is that?--Snowballs Alex1496 Snowballs 19:42, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

Actual Music is Made With...? Edit

Does anyone know what Jagex makes their music with? I'm 99% sure it's a program and not a live orchestra, lol. Is it somewhere else on the Wiki, or has a Mod said it before on the forums? -- Twiggletz 10:44, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

- I think they used in-home programs to edit MIDI. The music is actually MIDI, but with different soundfonts. -- User:Alex.aaa789 16:23, June 15, 2012 (GMT +8)

Not all are MIDIs? Edit

Since 201x , there seems to be music that is not with MIDI format (as some of the sound effects are impossible to do even with different soundfonts)

e.g. Wending Through the Willows (impossible to be MIDI as it has lyrics sung), (Don't know if the new quests rework music use MIDI or not)

So what is the file used? (So I can change the part Notes where it writes "The music uses MIDI......") Alex.aaa789 (talk) 14:31, February 21, 2013 (UTC)
