This talk page is for discussing the Money making guide/Fletching page.

Profit from fletching[]

I think most of the listed activities could use a makeover to use only the net profit made from fletching. For example, fletching unstrung maple bows (either short or long) in Seer's village, which is very close to a bank, then selling to a store is profitable only because woodcutting maple logs is profitable. The fletching step actually loses money. An exception to this kind of activity may be appropriate if a bank is very far away, and fletching removes the need to leave a woodcutting spot (i.e. something stackable is created, or high alched) To3cutt3r 18:29, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

However if you do that then Fletching would have maybe even only 1 method to make cash as Fletching generally loses money and decreases the money you would earn from the maples or bowstrings. However there are certain things that only become useful when used in Fletching such as bow strings. I think it should stay as it is or we should only have on things like the bowstring which only gain their final value and use when fletched.

Having only 1, 2, or even no activities listed is fine, as long as they are accurate. If an activity is popular because it produces quick experience but does so at a loss, then it belongs in the training guide for that particular skill, not in the money making guide. Herblore is another skill that is typically unprofitable, and it has very few activities listed in its money making guide, but at least the listed activities are profitable. Money Making, not Training[]

I noticed that on the second thing to do, (level 32), it says that you make a profit of -8 coins per spike. That should be on the training guide, not the money making guide. Should I fix this?

I noticed that on the level 30 guide that the value of the feathers was not added, so instead of earning 13 coins per steel arrow, you are losing 2 coins. There are more than several instances where "money making" methods listed DO NOT MAKE A PROFIT. Why are these still here if you LOSE MONEY?

Grammar[]

At the level 85 section the last two sentences say, "You lose money this way. Though, you lose 286,000 coins every 1,000 magic longbows." This needs to be fixed into once sentence.(Possibly updated, if prices are wrong.) I'd do it myself, but I can't edit the page. - V3ND3T 03:19, May 5, 2010 (UTC)

Adding Profit Rates[]

The last two entries (and the Diamond bolt entry) still lack an accurate profit rate analysis. Can someone with a high enough Fletching level add (or confirm) a profit per hour rate?
