Maybe requires some information on mines: between a rock... , keldagrim, relekka, grand tree, and a few other member mines, but otherwise this is excellent.
i understand its not on the Runescape mining spots in the game guide but the evil chicken lair provides a considerable amount of ores to mine, i dont really see why it has never been put on the list for this long either 70.246.150.134 23:34, May 5, 2011 (UTC)
Should there be ore images as well? I'm just worried if the page may become too large. And what about mine images? Like, just from the world map? --Richard1990 00:08, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
I dont think adding ore images will take up much room if they're small enough.. As for mines, they should probably be on separate pages linked to by Dungeon Maps and/or in the Dungeon Category. --Xanatos 00:10, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Maybe there could be a mining category and make mining maps? --Richard1990 00:14, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Probably would work better. --Xanatos 00:17, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Should there be rock images as well? Never mind, I don't think so. --Richard1990 16:57, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
I guess I'm done revising this page. I kind of dislike the bottom though, it seems like a bunch of words garbbled together. Maybe I'll get pics of the random events or something. --Richard1990 18:17, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
I really need to get stats on granite - I hear that it's the *best* mining exp per hour. I also hear that you don't need waterskins whilst you're there, drop-mining anyway. I'll try and get stats on it soon. --Eucarya 23:36, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
Approximately 38k per hour drop-mining granite. So, er, not that good actually! --Eucarya 22:08, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Oh, i have 74 mining btw
That said, power iron mining is around 32k an hour, so granite is better. --Eucarya 22:50, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
I personally went from 72 to 85 Minining Granite, I esimated about 41k an hour from it. ~Tmb04
Xam 2y changed the Powermining section into something I've never heard of, and which doesn't sound possible, either. Anyone heard of this version of powermining before? JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 07:43, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Mining is mainly based on luck, with a bit of help from pickaxes of a higher level? This section says nothing about higher level's mining quicker than lower, or has that really changed so drastically? :O - ChrisWar666 17:02, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
Katshuma deleted (in the training edit) the times for the iron rocks near al-kharid. At least one user (Mathwhiz, feature article nominations) likes these times for each level, so should they be kept in?
Another point, the Mine table edit seems to make everything out of order? In addition, if the next editor could add italics for the member's only items, definetley in the mining table and the minable items table, if not elsewhere.
Finally, if they could add 'in the Runecrafting' to the minable items section that'd be great. - ChrisWar666 20:27, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Sorry, I thought yesterday that no one would need them, but when i looked to Mining's entry, I understood. I put them back. Userpage "Katshuma" Talkpage 05:02, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
I think someone should take out the images of uncut dragonstone and onyx, as that might give the illusion that mining them can obtain these gems. Also, probably add opal, jade, and topaz? Butterman62 20:32, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
This section goes on about not mining the mith, then about superheating it and using the anvil at the north end of the mine. Then it suggests selling to the store or alching to save time?!?
Should say to bank mith bars (very fast) and smith later... much more efficient... msk 01:51, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
Other than using a better pickaxe, is there any way to increase the rate of mining? I would like some info on this. Any maths would be useful if you can find some.
Just from experience, the only thing that matters is what pickaxe you're using. If two miners, one level 40 and one level 99, both using rune picks, start mining the same rock, it seems to be still a tossup as to who will get the ore. I've outmined players both higher and lowered mining leveled than me, and vice-versa, so I'd say it's just luck beyond which pickaxe you use. Regabuh (talk) (contribs) 17:38, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
I disagree. I definately notice a difference with my current 81 mining vs level 60 mining in mining guild. There is a better chance to get the coal in 1 or 2 "hits". On the other hand, the higher the ore, the more random it is.teh_kevlar 19:19, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
As with Firemaking and Woodcutting, it does make a difference. People who say no, it depends on who started first.Pikdude
I didn't know that you could get more than one gem from a rock the 'first' time you mined it. There is also an extremely small chance of finding more than one gem in a rock. I have 75 mining and didn't know this... I was mining addy ores, with boots of lightness, penance gloves, spottier cape, clay pickaxe, glory, and varrock armor 3. While mining the addy ore, I was mining one rock, got a ruby. No biggy... Until I got a sapphire right after.... and not one, but two! So I get 3 gems before I got one addy ore.... and the rock I mined RIGHT after that, I got another sapphire. So for that trip I left with 4 gems. Not knowing that I just found it extremely amazing, then felt extremely noobish for not knowing that was possible. I've asked others and they didn't know this either.
I know that mining speed has to do with mining level and pickaxe used, but I find that degree of randomness makes getting an ore in a certain amount of time very unpredictable, especially with higher ores (I once beat a 99 three times in a row for runite when i was only 85). I would like to know if anyone has the specific algorithm (or something close) of the duration of mining ores and knows just how much "randomness" is involved.69.215.48.61 08:59, January 6, 2011 (UTC)
there is no need to have a history section on this page, it is entirely irrelevant and boring information.
Do (mature) Dwarven stout, spicy stew and the mining cape boost really stack? I find that hard to believe. Can anyone confirm? Dimchordtalk 13:43, May 13, 2011 (UTC)
I discovered while mining Pure Essence while wearing the Wicked hood (not sure if it's only with those) that the mining animation was a little buggy. For one thing, at the end of the animation, on of my arms flew back for a split second.
