Shouldn't a warning be at the top of the page saying that the article contains quest spoilers? It's a featured article, so lots of people will look at it, and see spoilers for wgs and ruin the quest for them. 92.239.2.77 15:24, April 12, 2010 (UTC)
Since when is Lucien aligned with Zamorak? I thought his alignment was currently ambiguous, Lucien either attempting to resurrect or prevent Zaros' resurrection? Chaoticar 09:15, 21 March 2007 (UTC) True, but Azzanadra calls him a dog so he probably is Zamorakian.--Nantafiria 14:03, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
Has the thought that Lucien might be aligned with nobody but himself ever crossed anyone's mind? ArnoudX 17:24, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
ArnoudX is right. Lucien is probably planning to make himself a god, just like Zammy did. Prince Joob, 68.229.1.101 20:05, 25 November 2008 (UTC) (Wasn't logged in)
Heh, it was something I had suspected since the Ghostly Robes mini-quest. Lucien just seemed like the person to be jealous of Zamorak's godhood in my opinion... He's never been that loyal, anyway...(As one could deduce from some minor wordings, minor tones, etc.). I just never bothered to post it, but I fealt I should before the quest came out(didn't expect it to come in November, though:p )... ArnoudX 18:25, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Luciens couldn't turn himelf into a god the same way as Zamorak due to the Edicts of Guthix. Mage24365 20:38, December 23, 2009 (UTC)
Hey, all. I'm the one who did all of the recent edits on this page, and I was able to create an account in order to continue with my efforts. Could one of you find a new image of Lucien from the battle cutscenes in While Guthix Sleeps? They could be a nice replacement for his outdated image, I would say.
True. I might get hold of such an image, due to my resources I'll try. Yet I think we could simply wait, RSwiki outsources my resources by far, and it saves me the trouble:P Someone who still has to do the quest might be more of a help. I would say that we should have the image of 'frail' Lucien too, though. It could avoid a lot of confusion about his character... ArnoudX 18:25, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
I'll attempt to create an animation of Lucien from the battle scene myself for the "Powers and Abilities" section (most likely an animation of the skulls emerging from his staff), and then I could find a way to insert his "old image" without making the article appear too full.
According to Wikipedia, Lucien is a French name that means light. It is also the French form of Lucian or Latin Lucianus. (Taken from the Wikipedia article Lucien) Therefore, I do not understand the need to point out that Lucien is similar to the name "Lucifer" (which is another name for Satan), nor do I see the need to state that the name Lucien is based on the word "illusion", since the article I quoted states that Lucien is the French form of Lucian (which in turn is derived from "Lucianus"). Of course, I do not want to go against the wishes of the other editors, so I'll leave it up to someone else to decide whether these trivia statements should be edited, removed, or left as they are. Thank you for your time. N7 Elite(Ready to talk now?) 17:54, 11 November 2008 (UTC)
Lucien also happens to be the name of Napoleon's brother. Lucien Bonaparte was a famous speaker at the Jacobin Club, and played a minor role in helping his brother come to power. After that, he wrote a pamphlet denouncing Napoleon, and relations between them were strained ever since. I'm also the only one who pays attention in history class ;) Restartus
It seems Lucien acquires the staff even if you don't help him take it in Temple of Ikov. Does anyone feel that it should be explained how he gets it? Well maybe it is explained later...
I do believe that there should be a new picture of Lucien up there.
Since I didn't have any special programs, I just used Paint to whiten out the edges.
How is this picture? Image:Lucien.jpg|thumb|left

i dont realy know how to edit these wiki stuffs so i tell you that in the trivia part theres this sentence: "Lucien is so hot, I'd do him, how about you" i guess its a vandal's job, i guess it shouldnt be there.
What happens if Lucien stabs Guthix with the staff of armadyl, banishes him and achieves false godhood the same way zamorak did?
Won't happen. First of all, it doesn't make sense. Second of all, Guthix is by far more powerful than Lucien. Fswe1Lore project•Fun gallery My quests•Cutscenes 14:15, June 27, 2011 (UTC)
Also, why Guthix? Zamorak would make more sense Ciphrius Kane 14:20, June 27, 2011 (UTC)
Although I agree that it wouldn't make sense and they would have to adjust half the game if Lucien became a god, Zaros was possibly stronger than Guthix, so it wouldn't be impossible. But Zamorak didn't become a god immediately, but only after some time of banishment. And if Lucien awakes Guthix, and he doesn't succeed, he's practically dead, as he doesn't have an enormous amount of followers, like Zammy did when he banished Zaros. The article says: "Furthermore, Lucien could have become the successor of the God of Chaos (Zamorak) if his plot to overthrow the Chaos Lord and lead the clan of the Mahjarrat into the future ultimately succeeded." Where that even his intentions?? I thought he just wanted to become a god too (consequently not needing/fearing the ritual anymore). Does anyone know if he stated his intentions somewhere? Btw, is he Zarosian, Zamorakian, or... something else? . Yours, . AddictEnkidu Talk . 18:08, September 18, 2011 (UTC)
He is definitely Zamorakian - he aided Zamorak in his rise to power, shown in the Ghostly Robes side quest. Also, shouldn't we remove the speculation bit now? It's not like we need to any more - ROTM tied his story up for us.
Is it known if that was just a joke, or could he really have (had) a daughter? Like Enakhra or Palkeera or some-one else who already died (and is not mentioned). Does anyone know more about this? . Yours, . AddictEnkidu Talk . 19:03, September 18, 2011 (UTC)
Can anyone confirm why Zamorak was able to sucessfully become a god, while Lucien failed but believed he was? or it is it the case Zamorak isn't really a god but merely a "pretender" like Juna suggests he is?
One thing seems clear lucien was not, the all powerful god he hoped he had become despite owning the staff and Stone of Jas, yet Zamorak despite loosing both retains a power, that would seem to be far greater than lucien given the strength of the zamorak campain during the God Wars and guthix's acceptance of him as the God of Chaos.
People, plz sign. It kinda depends on the definition of a god too. You could say you´re only god if you're 'born that way', or if your power level is over 9000... or something. I don't think it's the 1st. Because zammy is now 'an unrightful god'. Maybe zammy became god because he defeated zaros and could suck up his power? . Yours, . AddictEnkidu Talk . 11:36, September 28, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, one was in a bit of a hurry. My theory is the reason Zamorak is now a God and Lucien failed to become so, was because of the power transfer between Zaros and Zammorak, via the staff of Armadyl.
My own definition of what what defines a God is that a God is a state of being rather than being of X power or origin. 109.246.34.182 15:36, September 28, 2011 (UTC)
Tbh a lot of evidance points to Zamorak being truely a god, for starters guthix accepts him as an essential part of the balance of the world "There is a balance between the god of chaos and the god of order" to quote it's words. However the most contradicting evidance is the most important to discuss, Juna states Zammorak is "but a pretender God" which heavily implies he is not truely a diety but has the power equating to such, similiar to lucien, but lucien is much more obviously less powerful than zamorak as evidant by the power of zamorak to hold his own against lucien, his feats of power in the god wars (wilderness) and the respect the other mahjarrat have for him, which lucien lacks and even during the 18th ritual they all turn on him despite his power. On Juna she often contradicts herself, such as claims involving Bandos and Zanik, in which she claims the betrayal of the goblin God Bandos is worse than allowing him to break the edics of guthix.
I know this is a rather old topic, but I think a good way to explain it would be to say that the staff of Armadyl and the stone of Jas were just.. boosts, like greenman's ale or some such item. To be a god you seem to need some other form of energy, the same kind which transferred from Zaros to Zamorak when he was impaled with the staff, possibly since, being a god item, it was slightly charged with the same energy and thus was a good conductor.
Hence Zamorak is a pretender god because he wasn't born/created with that energy; he stole it.
Also.. I don't think it has anything to do with power levels or the like, since among the deities (and half-deities) there are great variations in the levels of power each show. 137.195.11.1 11:46, March 14, 2012 (UTC)
I finished the quest, and luciens body didn't turn to dust that i saw. He just kinda lays there... dead.
After the quest he's gone, but that dosent imply that he turned to dust or anything. Who knows what happened to him, but "his body turns to dust" is factually incorrect, so i changed it
I'm not going to put it on the page, but a thought occurred to me - to me, Lucien's death was somewhat unsatisfying, and I presume it felt that way to a number of other players, but in ROTM he was just too powerful to fight. Presumably Lucien was hit by the same curse as Khazard, so would it be possible for him to re-appear at some later date in the Shadow Realm? Possibly we could have a more equal battle with him.
