If someone has an image of a Jagex mod chatting and would be willing to upload that would be swell.Shadowdancer 21:38, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bad picture
Hi there, The picture of the mods in the clan chat has lots of player names who may not want to be seen, shouldn't they be smudged out? the style guide states "Do not include specific usernames of players or groups of players in articles"

Is it true that Jagex mods can make themselves appear as an ordinary level 3 player? C Teng talk 13:49, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- They can't remove their crowns or change their names on their Jagex mod accounts, no. Skill 16:52, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- But I suppose they can just create a new lvl 3 account... I don't really see the point of this, though.

- Well, I've heard that they can turn themselves into a noob and back, not switch accounts. And, accually, they do have separate accounts for pleasure.

- Yes jmods can turn themselves into lvl 3's, but they get testy if you ask them too =P. Warrush 01:51, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

- I've heard that they can not only change their stats at will on their Jmod accounts, but they can even be level 1!
they can change to level 1. even to 0 or -3457834
[edit] List of mods
Should this article include a list of usernames of known mods? I know of Paul, Andrew, and Mod Craddock off-hand. The style guide says: "Do not include specific usernames of players or groups of players in articles", but I know of exceptions elsewhere, and wondered this would be appropriate here. It might be a bit too trivia-y, as the article already tells users how to recognise Jagex mods via the gold crown. Leevclarke talk

- I don't think we should list the Jagex mods, there's over 400 of them.

[edit] Mod Element
"…one known player, Mod Element, created such an account before the restriction… It is not known whether this player was banned or renamed." I searched "Mod Element" on Google, but this page was the only one that came up about it. Where is the source for this? C Teng talk 19:35, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Mod xxx
The fact that all exept paul and andrew start with the "mod" is false, I seen one, who was level 120's, looking like a regular player (without item) and had gold crown, I think it's an old player who became moderator and keep his account, I'll screen it if I see again...
Yes, there are a few testing ones that I have seen screenshots of like matt1337, also Ian is a jmod http://forum.runescape.com/forums.ws?15,16,148,58584629,goto,2
[edit] Mod colour on forums
Quality Assurance/Game Tester mods don't have gold backgrounds on the forums, they have purple. I saw it here on a thread for a party that i went to where a J mod who was well known on the forums who was becoming a Games tester it is here. I don't know what to do with it. - They actually still have gold. Jagex mods can post HTML and JavaScript on the forums, JavaScript was used to change the colors of the post.

<div id="dummyDeepPurple"></div><script type="text/javascript">var node = document.getElementById("dummyDeepPurple"); node.parentNode.parentNode.style.background = "#24023F"; node.parentNode.parentNode.style.borderColor = "#5A0794"; node.parentNode.parentNode.parentNode.parentNode.parentNode.style.borderColor = "#9A24FF"; var leftPanel = node.parentNode.parentNode.parentNode.getElementsByTagName("TD")[0]; leftPanel.style.background = "#3A0562"; leftPanel.style.borderColor = "#5A0794"; var leftPChildren = leftPanel.getElementsByTagName("DIV"); leftPChildren[0].style.background = "#3A0562"; leftPChildren[1].style.background = "#3A0562"; leftPChildren[2].style.background = "#3A0562"; leftPChildren[2].style.borderColor = "#5A0794"; leftPChildren[3].style.background = "#3A0562";</script>
- Hmm so their ability to use HTML allows them to change their background colour?? Thanks, i didn't know that

[edit] # of Jmods
Quote from article: "Despite Jagex's growth, not many exist, so it is rare to see them in-game. " Quote from Mod Mmg on RuneScape Forums QFC: 13-14-613-58401007 : "Q) Mvt Tank - I think there are many people who work on Jagex, might be fun^^, but how many people totally work there, and are they all J-Mods in-game? A) We have in the region of 400 staff, all Jagex staff members have JMod accounts - we aim to get a lot of them into game at the same time :) "
Since I don't know a darn thing about making a proper editing which requires citing. I'll let somebody else fix and cite it. You can have the credit too.--64supernoob 04:51, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

it it like a private server; ::pickup or ::item, then a code, then the amount they want.
[edit] Removal of some of their 'powers'
There was a section saying that they could choose to be visible ingame or invisible. Why was that removed? I've seen it with my own two eyes, or is that not evidence enough in itself?
