Damage IncreasesEdit

Hexcrest doesn't give bonus damage. Without someone supplies a screenshot of over the current max (excluding special npcs) I won't believe them.

I killed about 30 rexes (daganoth tast) and never once hit over 33 with cog and void mace. In theory with the hexcrest it would be a 37 (30*1.25 or (30*1.10)*1.15) and even higher with magic potion. Now I used a few does of magic potion just to test this and I never hit above the old max of 37 (should be 42). I had 177 left of kill and will continue to kill rex using full slayer helm, however I'm 99.9% sure its magic accuracy and not magic damage.JoeDaStudd 13:55, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

Yup the hexcrest DOES increase damage on slayer tasks. I'm hitting 21 with fire bolt now instead of 19. Iofs 18:07, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

The issue I mentioned is a current bug. The hexcrest effect doesn't work with rex when on a dagganoth task.

Mod Emilee confirmed hexcrest is 15% magic accuracy and 15% magic damage with focus being 15% range accuracy and 15% range damage.JoeDaStudd 13:55, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

I've done extensive experimentation with a Hexcrest in a Full Slayer Helm, against Greater Demons (which require no slayer level to kill). After casting hundreds of Fire Bolt spells without the chaos gloves, max damage was never above the spell's maximum of 12. Casting a few hundred more spells with chaos gauntlets yielded no shots whatsoever over the new expected maximum damage of 15. Adding Ahrim's Staff and casting a couple hundred more fire bolts boosted maximum damage to 16, as one expects with +10% damage. At every step, maximum damage never exceeded existing maximums, and the distribution was also normal. Damage on ice strykewyrms currently exceeds 1100, this was tested without chaotic staff.

Drop RatesEdit

Just wondering what kind of drop rates Hexcrests have, I had a task of 101 Jungle Strykewyrms and got 2 Hexcrests literally minutes apart. Ziggy 94 18:03, February 27, 2010 (UTC)
