Reformists? Edit

"They acknowledge Saradomin as the successor to Armadyl and Zamorak to Zaros. They say that Armadyl gave Saradomin the power of a god and Zamorak took it from Zaros. Armadyl hid away in his realm. Zaros was forced into his realm."

Perhaps that is slightly inaccurate? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Musashi Miyamoto (talk) on 07:04, 2011 August 26 (UTC).

It's supposed to describe what the reformists believe, not whether or not what they believe is true, I think.Promissory note XPTHARKONQuill 22:06, August 26, 2011 (UTC)
The comments about the Gods succeeding each other is false. Can somebody please name a NPC that states that? 118.209.114.80 21:49, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, who or what are reformists indeed? It got added here: Revision as of 21:27, 2008 April 24. There also used to be a page about Reformists that got deleted four times, not sure what the content was or why it was deleted but it's worth mentioning when discussing this subsection (that used to refer to that page). Promissory note XPTHARKONQuill 14:58, September 10, 2011 (UTC)
I have, btw, actually never really heard a distinction like that (modernist, reformists, a.o., etc.) in the game itself. or on a blog does anyone know about this? Where it came from? . . . Yours, Void Knight banner AddictEnkidu Talk Quest Icon Crest . . 17:18, September 10, 2011 (UTC)

King Roald Edit

how is king roald a guthix follower? he leads a huge saradominist nation, and as far as i know he does not show any signs of being a guthixian, as far as i know. could anyone shed some light on this please?

Please clarify by quoting the specific section from the article. 118.209.114.80 21:51, September 8, 2011 (UTC)
Come'on, he's clearly not a Guthixian. He's a king that tries to run a pluralistic kingdon/city in a secular fasion, most likely. I suspect he's a Saradominist himself, but maybe his religious views haven't even crystalised for himself. But I'm positive he isn't a Guthixian. (Hence I was so free to remove his name from the list in the article.) . . . Yours, Void Knight banner AddictEnkidu Talk Quest Icon Crest . . 08:43, September 9, 2011 (UTC)
Wow, indeed, there's even part of a quest dedicated to the conflict between Roald and the Edicts. Promissory note XPTHARKONQuill 14:38, September 10, 2011 (UTC)

Guthix as It Edit

While Guthix may or may not be an 'it' the traditional grammatical use of terms such as he, she or it is not to capitalize them. It's a convenience tool, not another name, so Guthix should be called 'it' not 'It'. Slight difference, but it would vastly improve the flow of the start of the article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.48.25.202 (talk) on 09:40, 2012 January 12 (UTC).

I agree, but it seems it was done this way to make the article clearer. Promissory note XPTHARKONQuill 16:14, January 12, 2012 (UTC)

Is this thing right? Edit

"During the quest Meeting history, it is possible to left click Guthix at a certain angle, consequently having his left click menu name comes up as "Water trough"."

What if there is a water trough behind him in the cutscene? That explains the requirement of "certain angle" -.-

GodswordEdit

Guthix don't have a Godsword.

It should have one. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 88.91.35.11 (talk) on 21:25, February 4, 2012 (UTC).

No, it should not, it did not participate in the wars. Promissory note XPTHARKONQuill 20:29, February 5, 2012 (UTC)
The Godswords were made due to the Gods who participated in the God Wars during the third age, in which Guthix was asleep, and woke up, and stopped it. Although there isn't one for Zaros(Ancient), but that was probably because Nex was basically leading the army, not Zaros himself.

Ent Edit

Ent's are Guthixian units in the game armies of gielinor [1].

Guthix sleeps... refrence to Hindu creation myth?Edit

I was wondering if some-one knows more about the Hindu creations myths than I do... I've heard/read that when the 'god' Brahma goes to sleep the world will perish in fire. This could be refering to the chaos and destruction (wilderness) of/on Gielinor during the God Wars, etc. Also the genderlessness is an interesting paralel to me.

Does anyone have ideas on this? Thanks!! . . . Yours, Void Knight banner AddictEnkidu Talk Quest Icon Crest . . 17:20, November 14, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah i think this is true, I think alot of things from the religion of guthix are based on Hhinduism/Budhism. Not sure if jagex made a reference or if its pure conincidence though.87.211.169.112 17:00, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

The World WakesEdit

So if Guthix dies at the end of The World Wakes...what happens to his followers and everything?

New switch infoboxEdit

Added a switch function to the infobox, as the current one only showed him as a naragi and not as a deity. Better images are needed however for when he is alive/dead, feel free to provide them Gr33nday345 (talk) 23:23, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

Can Guthix really die?Edit

"I exist because I must exist; if I did not, then I would be created again, for the universe requires balance in all things.

Many of the deities of this land also exist because their function is required to fulfill the roles they do."

~Guthix, God Letter vol. 19

Suvindu (talk) 17:44, March 8, 2013 (UTC)

There's no contradiction there: Guthix acknowledges that someone must fulfill "his" role as the protector of balance, he just wants it to be a mortal (specifically you!) Likewise, we can assume that if no other gods had ever arrived, some mortal or group of mortal would have ended up filling their functions (so that without Bandos the Big High War God, there'd still be some mortals with a similar warlike disposition, and likewise there'd be people inclined toward chaos like Zamorak, order like Saradomin, etc.) 70.99.104.234 04:59, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

So essentially, you are the new Guthix. 70.99.104.234 05:00, March 15, 2013 (UTC)

Guthix is dead, and left his power to a new player, simply meaning that if he was to die, there would be a new god of balance (in our view) that will take his place to protect the world from teh gods. Please also remember he wished to die, he could have prevented his death, or did what Zaros did (Jagex aproved this in teh Q&A) But he picked to die. Also please note that the Gods Letter isn't real lore. Kinglink15 (talk) 03:49, March 29, 2013 (UTC)kinglink15Kinglink15 (talk) 03:49, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

AlignmentEdit

As we know, Guthix is balance, but I think we also add Anima Mundi. Stated by Jagex, he is connected to the Anima Mundi, Like Seren.Kinglink15 (talk) 21:45, April 22, 2013 (UTC)

well we know that guthix had kind of relationship with seren , as stated in world wake..

and i'm serious with guthix alignment, 'balance', why he just not merge with saradomin which have 'order' alignment? because chaos wouldn't acceptable in gielinor nature, and only creating un-balance 125.164.40.165 05:46, June 15, 2013 (UTC)

Correction, it wasn't stated in the World wake, it was stated in the Tribute of Guthix. And second, because his philosophy is balance, Not order. He allows all in his world, Chaos and order. You seem to be Saradominist, that's why you state what you state. But Guthix is balance, not order, he shows to allow Chaos, order, good, and evil to be allow in a world for mortal only. How so? In the world wake when u do the 2nd puzzle, you have to balance out the statement of each questions. So, if there was only order in a world, it would be false peace, and unbalance. Gods Letter Picture.Edit

I been seeing, and of course no way around this. But it seems someone wishes for the Gods Letter Picture of Guthix to remain, when it was stated, it is no longer part of the lore. I understand in WGS, there was a brief image of it, but it could be the Druids thought of him when they started folowing him. I think it is best off is we talk about this, and come to a point, on what to do with that picture.Kinglink15 (talk) 19:09, April 25, 2013 (UTC)

You're taking it too far with assuming that everything from those Letters is not canon. MolManGthx 19:12, April 25, 2013 (UTC)
I believe I am not, for if you look at the Runescape page, IT is stated when searchnig for a Gods letter issue, it states "The God Letters were written for fun and the information contained in them is not to be considered canon unless otherwise mentioned. " SO I am not overdonig it, just making sure that the informations needed for the page is provided by facts, with proof. and not something that was done for fun from Jagex until stated otehrwise, but we are off topic here. Do we keep the Picture or not?Kinglink15 (talk) 19:22, April 25, 2013 (UTC)
That doesn't mean that everything in them is false, ya know. While they were written for fun, every joke has a kernel of truth. Take out the stuff that is questionable, but don't remove everything just because there are jokes in the texts. MolManGthx 19:24, April 25, 2013 (UTC)
True, but it is not proved that their real due for them making it for fun, unless stated otherwise, so it does mean everything in them is not part of the canon, Besides on where Guthix saying he shaped the world. Thats one of them, but there's other that are not true. Mostly all of them so unless Jagex mod states some are true otherwise, we can rely on them 50%, but again, we are off topic, Keep the picture, Yes or no? Kinglink15 (talk) 19:33, April 25, 2013 (UTC)
Apparently the picture is supported by actual canon. I've no idea, you'll need to ask fswe, who made the edit. MolManGthx 19:35, April 25, 2013 (UTC)
I am just looknig for a vote to keep that one, or not, if so ,we can keep it, but move it stating oen of his form, as it is comparable to teh Door at WGS. Kinglink15 (talk) 19:42, April 25, 2013 (UTC)
This is still in here. Good. Guys, The gods letter isn't Canon. Even if parts are proved in game, it is still not consider canon. THERE is no proof he ever took that form in game, in form by a JMod. I know the door in WGS shows it. BUT there is nothing stating why is that there. Unless a JMod says otherwise, OR in game it shows (Like a flash back) Then we add the source of his flying skull, but from the In game only. But as I said. There is no proof in game that he ever took that form. Plus in the Gods letter. He stated "I have no form, the picture above is a form I mostly take." That isn't true, or was true. Shows he did have a form, he was a Naragi. So please stop adding a noncanon information/picture/quote. Because we don't need it, we can eitehr replace it, if the information was put. Godless symbol Luciz Talk Godless symbol 15:43, June 7, 2013 (UTC)
Whether or not it's true or not that he ever looked like that is irrelevant. The fact is, this is official art created by Jagex of Guthix. Guthix is shown in the game depicted looking very similar to the picture. So canonically, his druids believed him to look like that. Thus, him looking like that is "otherwise stated". Wahsietel chathead Wahisietel (Talk) Quest icon 17:35, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
yes, it is an art from Jagex. But it is a Gods letter art. Guthix in game was not shown in the game at all to take that form. if you want, add the Picture of the door stating a Depicted form that the druid believe of Guthix. But we would be speculating if there is no proof that he took that form, or was it stated by Jagex. Godless symbol Luciz Talk Godless symbol 17:48, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
