Should RuneScape Wiki have guides? Nearly all guides are biased to some degree or another and I feel they detract from an encyclopedia.
Please discuss. Shadowdancer 03:58, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Yes, we should have guides. See What Wikia is not, specifically that Wikia isn't a Wikimedia project, which means that obvious no-nos on Wikipedia such as bias are totally OK here. The only thing I do not like about our current guide arrangement is that they are listed as normal articles. There ought to be a Guide: namespace. Hyenastetalk 04:09, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
So, uh, we should have biased articles and yet we're an encyclopedia? I think not... Shadowdancer 04:12, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, no, we shouldn't seek making this biased. I believe you keep mentioning the phrase Mining is better than begging, believe me!. Naturally we don't want this, but on the other hand, this entire Wiki is biased towards RS2; we barely mention Classic. Hyenastetalk 04:15, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Well actually the wiki is about RuneScape, which is what RS2 became. RuneScape Classic is categorized as an obsolete update because, well, it's obsolete! Shadowdancer 04:23, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
The center point of a wiki is that anyone can provide their input. If someone has found a good way to train a skill or to make money, why shouldn't we let them post it up here? I think having more than just factual, encyclopeadic information is what sets this apart from the RuneScape Knowledge Base and gives people a reason to come here, because otherwise the Knowledge Base would almost always be the better place to go. -- Couchpotato99 06:07, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
