All it says for location is "Level 46 Wilderness." Where in level 46 wildy? Lava Maze area? East? West? In a dungeon? What's the topography? Is there a place to stand near them for ranging or maging? Can a dwarf cannon be set up near them? Is it multicombat? Do PKers hang out nearby to try to grab some of the better drops from the people who actually do the work killing the demon?Mathwhiz90601 06:41, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
- These are the answers to your questions:
- The place is located northeast of the Wilderness. Go north from Bounty Hunter, pass the Eastern ruins, pass the Chaos dwarfs, continue north until you pass a small passageway, then go northeast until you see a yellow dot on the mini map.
- Yes, it is multi-combat.
- Yes, you can use a cannon here.
- No not in the Lava maze area.
- Not in a dungeon, outside.
- Don't know.
- No, there are no PKers around anymore, the only threat are Revenants. Read this to find out why.
- There are a few safe spots. Click here to find a suitable safe spot.

The greater demons are in the demonic ruins (level 40 wilderness), located in the northeastern area of the wild, just north of the red dragon island. As for ranging and magic, u can kill them by ranging or magic if u set urself covered behind the ruins of the demon ic ruins. Also, it is multi-combat and that place is often infested with pk (sometimes it can have a clan war). You can also set up ur dwarf cannon but it cannot be used agaisnt player - only against the demons - and its also very risky to lose ur dwarf cannon in the wilderness. Being in the wilderness, anything can happen there - players can kill, scavenge, backstab, etc. --Fatman4ever 05:26, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

Ankous are not level 96. If they were you would have had a bad battle. Their maximum level is 86. And Greaters are also located in the Level 46 Wilderness, in the Demon Ruins. I am editing this article.--Senor Yoda1 04:54, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Four versions Edit

I've killed thousands of Greater Demons in F2P and I have never seen any other rune drops besides rune full helms. Unless someone can show evidence of rune drops besides full helms in F2P (in the form of a video), I'm going to have to emphatically deny their existence. 98.255.0.25 07:45, April 7, 2010 (UTC)
Max hit Edit
Since when did Greater Demons start hitting 12s? If they hit 12 you would have had a bad battle I fight them very often, and they have never hit more than 9 damage.
- At the risk of assuming, I would think that it would be over 9, due to Lesser demons max hit at 8. Possibly you just have a good defence level and good armour on that it would affect you as much as you think.

It should be noted that hellhounds are now the strongest non-reventant/quest/... monsters in free worlds. F2P drops 2 Edit
Well I have some rune full helms myself from thease demons... But one guy sayd that he had a rune kite! Any1 els can confirm this? --Pvmatle PS some1 added that bad battle thing not me -.-' I removed it

I really hope that someone put it as a joke, because its either that or some crazy Engrish like 'Uh oh, the truck have started to move' (from NES Metal Gear)
But don't pull that lever, or you'll get a bad battle. Haha. Oh and I didn't put that...its just insanely funny. You will get a bad battle!
Oh, and Greater Demons don't actually hit that often on full rune. But if you don't have good defence you will get a bad battle and actually they do drop full rune sets with kite and skirt.

Tactics: Wilderness Volcano (free to play) Edit
The final sentence claims that "Spawn times are quick being from 90 seconds to less then 1 second." I haven't been there personally to see... but that's a rather large range, and I don't remember any monsters having respawns of under 1 second. Eckko 01:54, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

Greater Demons are somehow very easy to kill!At lvl.57 I p.w.n.ed one in wilderness volcano!they're closely related to lesser demons,although they are a tiny bit harder to kill!Seriously,at lvl92 they must be tough for a player who is about 40lvls lower!Runescape ought to change this!!!!!!

First of all, you are only 35 levels lower. Second, A.) You were in full armor and had a weapon. The demon did not. B.) Greater demons have low defence. Darklight > Abyssal Whip? Edit
The Darklight page says that the special of Darklight makes it equivalent to roughly the Dragon Longsword (which does have a max hit that is more or less the same as the whip), but it does not increase the attack bonus. Is using Darklight actually more effective against Greater Demons (it says so in the Kuradal's Dungeon section)? I've never seen anybody here with a darklight.... everybody has a whip and like 5% of people have a godsword.
- Took the line out that said that Darklight was stronger than the Abyssal Whip as I have seen no proof that that statement is true. Given that Darklight will do as much damage as a D Long when against demons and that the whip is faster plus provides a larger Strength bonus than the D Long unless there is something else then Darklight can not be stronger than a whip. It says theres a Safespot for mages/rangers? Hmm... Wouldn't a picture be approriate? To show excatly where to stand...Sigh, this is BASIC stuff guys.
I'm pretty sure that these drop rune scims and rune maces but I didn't edit it because i wasn't sure :/ It would be good if someone could confirm whether they do drop them or not

Ring of Wealth drop:
With ring of wealth, i got 6 magic seeds. This should be added. That's freaking 2 mil. However, it has 'glowed brightly' 2 other times: both sapphires.
Wilderness VolcanoEdit
I've never visited the two wilderness volcanoes. The northern one has no NPCs, and the old BH one. In Location, it says Wilderness Volcano, 48 wilderness. I know it's definitely not there, cause the Demonic Ruins ones are already there, and there's no wilderness volcanoes at 48 wild. Someone should idk check or something.. because idk where the real location is..</br >

Charm dropsEdit
Can someone confirm this? I had a task at greater demons and it seems that their crimson charm drops have been lowered, they now seem to be the same as their gold charm drops. Infraction 06:25, December 19, 2011 (UTC)
