[edit] GreeGree + Easter Ring = glitch

Does anyone else remember the greegree & easter ring glitch? I think it should be added.

You would use the Easter Ring then right-click the GreeGree, once you were a egg weild the GreeGree and you would turn into a weird stretched mutant thing. [edit] Karajma Fishing Dock to Wizards' Tower

Twice I have been fishing on the Karamja fishing dock and was suddenly transported to the square directly east of Wizard Mizgog in the Wizards' Tower. Has anyone else had this or a similar problem? --63.215.28.97 23:16, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

That's where I was after failing the Freaky Forester random. Your character might have ignored a random or something. earth_(t)

[edit] Fairy Ring glitch

Today I used the fairy ring to head back to the bank from the desert, as I was heading to the ring located right by the Kalphite dungeon, I accidently clicked on a jackal and attacked it. I then proceeded to transport through the fairy ring and while doing so, I noticed the jackal following me. He followed me all the way into Zanaris. I took a screenshot and plan on uploading to photobucket, as I don't think any admins will allow it to be on this server. As I DK 20:55, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

I had noticed that a few of the other "glitch images" were removed from the glitch page. I figured that they were not acceptable due to the rules placed on personal images and whatnot. I'm sure i'm probably wrong but I happen to be one of those people that mark images for speedy deletion and I didn't want to be a culprit either... know what I mean? :) As I DK 21:43, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Name Glitch

I remember playing a long while back (before RS2) when someone figured out that by using a modified client, they could add spaces in front of their name. One such hacker decided to name himself " Andrew". No one could talk to him since the client would automatically remove the space in front if you tried. Jadex did quickly fix the bug, they prevented further logins, but couldn't kick the player since the moderator's client also lacked the ability to ban players with the illegal name. They eventually had to restart the server to get the player kicked.

When fishing in catherby, the spot closest to bank if you click on the grapple tree near by you will start fishing in the ground. It still works and will end in a bit if u dont go back to water. If you could put that in thanks!

It's from a member's Quest that you need to take a goblin (Zanik) in the crate (box) and take her in a place. I heard you could die or either let your membership end. —86.90.182.158 (talk • contribs) forgot to sign this comment.

I put up a glitch on where a player managed to sneak anger weapons outside of a souls bane and it got removed. why?

I saw that it got removed because it could've been fake. How can i put it up in a way that doesnt look fake? (it isnt fake)

[edit] Recent Graphics Update

Did anyone realize a few glitches when the new graphics came out? I saw that the GE would not tell you if the transaction was complete until you clicked on it. I also saw that all full helms, for that day, had red plumes like a Zamorak full helmet, which made me, and my friend with full saradomin, confused. Bunnies1230_Talk^Edits 17:02, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

There are alot of new glitches with the new HD version, but it's still in Beta. I found alot of glitches, like if you wear a Lederhosen hat your chathead will be very small, only your beard is big. [][] (]:iSpacee :[) [][] 14:31, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

I believe this has to do with your graphics settings. I forget whether it was "ground textures" or "ground decorations", but I had both of mine set to "off" and had the same issue. Once I turned them on, the bridges reappeared. --nekobawt 22:54, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Glitches that have not been fixed by Jagex

When did we decide that we would not allow those in the article? What is the point of that? In an edit summary I saw someone say that "We don't want to encourage people to play with bugs." Who cares, if it's something as minor as the moonwalking glitch, or a glitch with an emote? I don't remember having any "dangerous" glitches like the World 111 Glitch on this page.  C Teng ^talk 10:58, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

First of all, it's so it doesn't make us look like we're encouraging bug abuse, especially since we follow the Runescape rules here. If we only mention them once they're fixed, people won't get so hyped up about it, and won't try looking for or abusing them. Not only that, it's also because people kept adding glitches here as if they were reporting them to us, instead of Jagex, who people should really report glitches to. We really don't want people to think "A glitch! A glitch! I should tell everyone at the RuneScape Wiki about it!". Instead, we want them to think "A glitch. I should tell Jagex about it, so it will be fixed." You can even look at some of the talk page messages above, where some of them look like they're reporting glitches to us. Not only that, this can also help prevent people cluttering the page with non-notable glitches as well as ones that we don't need to hear about (just look at this section, for example). Sorry if this doesn't sound very clear to you; I'm not good at these kind of things, and this was probably the best way I could put it. --Drummer (speak) 17:56, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Well said Drummer. Also, with the introduction of RSHD, many, many graphical errors have been creater, that are so minor or pointless, that there is no real need to have them. Personally, I think the page should either be solely about performance glitches or split into Glitch/Performance and Glitch/Graphical. Graphical glitches will always happen, but rarely ever hinder a player's performance in the game. Glitches that hinder performance, in my opinion, derserve to be included and discussed. 18:03, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Can we put glitches on the glitch page that cannot be abused? (ex.- a costume glitch, where someone's head is turned backwards because of something they're wearing) We wouldn't get in trouble if the glitch was non-abusive. Spencer ^{(Talk | Edits | Contribs)} 04:36, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

If you go to "Report a Bug" to Jagex (under known glitches), and other places (i.e. Official Forums) they call some glitches ".. more like features" because there is no way they would put enough code to cover every instance of something so minor as floating across the Ditch... I believe if Jagex can call these "Features" than we can post about them. Also, we cover ALL bugs. Jagex fixes big bugs within hours if they feel it necessary.. So the Dorgeshuun crossbow special attack glitch hinders gameplay? And the Crazy Head glitch as well? Wait, since when were you the one to make the rules on this wiki?

I want to re-open this as it's highly controversial and I think a complete consensus needs to be made. I feel, personally, that this main page should be only performance hindering glitches, or simply glitches that are not graphical. Also, I feel that Glitch/Graphical should be created to post graphical glitches. They are interesting to read about, and since RSHD is still relatively new, there are many of these types. I agree that posting glitches that have not been fixed by Jagex should not be allowed.... for performance glitches. I don't think anybody could possibly be banned for a graphical glitch, as that does not give anybody an unfair advantage, and it's rarely ever the user's fault. 22:00, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Grand Exchange "Swim Glitch"

I was recently at the Grand Exchange when I noticed a player "swimming" for about 2-3 seconds then returning to normal, above-ground stance. If anyone can give me any information on this or possibly add it to the glitches page once it's been fixed, I'd appreciate it. This is a portion of the screenshot I got of him swimming.

Guys,you need to think ... quit being stupid,you can't fix a glitch,because theres always going to be new ways...

Try to go back to land on the trawler, then before it crashes open the report abuse or skill menu thing. When it crashes you end up swimming on land (used to). Cheese¹³⁵⁶²

so, can anyone tell me why hapi removed 4 perfectly good images showing the invisibility glitch and replaces it with his own totally overkill animation? Invisibility is not a glitch! All you do is either type a period and bunch of spaces and then type what you want to say or type what you want to say followed by a bunch of spaces and a period. Your words appear to hover above an "invisible" person either to the right or left of you. I fooled some noobs with this one, but I wouldn't call it a glitch. --Sword Dope 19:21, 8 May 2009

I forget the exact page, but I believe there is conflicting information on a different page. Simply put, this information states that this could not actually happen. I'll try to hunt this page down, to bring a quote or two, but no gaurantees. Hey, I ran into that once, but i managed to get out of it somehow. I clicked to talk with the dwarf in the starting room and teleported to him.

I've experienced a glitch that u can self mute yourself with, this was done during the early days of quick chat and has since been fixed, should this be added? this glitch worked by having quick chat open and then talking to the were wolf agility boss, then clicking continue, u had to log out to fix this. floppyc5 21:56, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Small glitch

I've discovered(or I think I have) a small glitch: When holding a weapon(such as D-longsword) and changing for the Circus Agility event, once you're in costume your arm is still in the position for holding the longsword, but there's no weapon in your hand. Also, even if you don't have a weapon, all facial hair dissapears. Figured I should like, mention it or something in case someone wanted to add it.

I think this is a glitch, and its on World 125, a F2P world. If you go to World 125 on World Select, it says its a 'Stealing Creation' world, when Stealing Creation can only be played in Members worlds.SharpstarofFireClan 19:27, 26 November 2008 (UTC)

Also, on Stealing Creation, if you use the Give Thanks emote while the game is about to start, and the game starts, you will be left in the lobby.

I have cleaned up the article and removed both the present tense and the 2nd person words (you). The sentence structure, spelling, and grammar has also been corrected, as well as a few red link corrections and image alignment corrections. In Customer Support and the Code of Conduct, Jagex states that you can find a list of reported bugs (seeing if they are waiting to be fixed, or fixed), but I could never find it. Could someone get a link to put on the article?  C Teng ^talk 12:26, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

you have to go to http://bugtracker-v4.runescape.com/index.html > choose category > continue > continue and voila.

You dont have a direct link because the codebehind generates the list (so giving a direct link would give no result)

guys, stop adding box glitch its not a actual glitch... you are allowed to pick up the box in the first place making it NOT a glitch...

Guys,ill expain. The 'Box' is picked up during the quest "Death to the Dorgeshuun". Theres a limited zone where you may carry the box,which is only the lumbridge watermill. Me and friends (Im sure you know who im thinking about)tried smuggling the box by dieing,going outside and logging out... And everyone says you need to die with pots,thats not how it works(and it NEVER worked like that,you would just end up in a zombie position). Ok,so to keep the box you needed to do a fake log,which is a glitch where the server thinks your logged out.After,you needed to pickup the box and you could simply leave the area. If youd logout,you would lose the box :-( Oh and when you log back in your a zombie XD. hope you guys know more about it.Ohh,and its not 100% fixed.

Does anyone else think this page should be split up? Right now its huge, and at the rate jagex is going its just going to keep getting bigger. I thing Glitch should give a basic description of what a glitch is, and then list some famous glitches. It could then direct players to separate pages on Player/npc glitches, environment glitches, item glitches, and miscellaneous glitches. [edit] Alt Code Glitch

Earlier this morning, there was a glitch ingame that caused anyone who saw the alt code ALT+0181 to crash. People were using this to kill other peoples gameplay by typing it, they would avoid being crashed themselves by having their public chats set to Off. It's been fixed, but while active MANY players were crashed, and while they weren't in control their acc died at GWD or PvP or wherever. Now, if you try write that alt code in game, it will just show up as a blank space. Worth mentioning on the page? Trio0 04:32, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

The section talking about how censor asterisks out some usernames is a glitch?? Simply how is it a glitch and wouldn't it be much better placed under a page on censor?? _{Evil Yanks} ^talk 10:01, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

It wasn't intended for the censor to block usernames as that makes it difficult for users to communicate with each other. JaGEx admits this is a problem and allows you to submit your name to them to have it put in as an exception to the censor as in many cases the portion of the name is something that makes no sense to have blocked, for example my username shows up as "Bartuc*io3" or "Bartu*cio3" (forgot which) instead of showing up as "Bartuccio3" as it should. I personally find it not worth the space it would take up in the censor script to have my name unblocked since only one letter is missing and it's still easy to see who is being referred to, but in more extreme cases you might have something like: (for sake of argument, this is most likely not real) Vegetarian27 show up as "***et*rian*7." This would actually be worth spending the storage space for. In any case it can still be considered a glitch that the game censors anybody's username.

While I'm on this topic, does anybody here know if there would be a way for them to automatically reference the database of login information to automatically un-censor usernames? I know they've done this to block your own password from being said, so doesn't this sound like a viable solution? --

I remember reading on a fansite about how some users used an infamous cheating tool to actually be able to attack bankers. The information available was limited and vague, so I was wondering if anybody here that had first- or second-hand experience could post some elaborate information or if it's already posted in an article not wholly about the glitch, direct me toward it. Some things that I think could be interesting are what the combat level and HP of a banker were, as well as what the typical reaction was of somebody trying to use a bank and finding that all bankers were dead or in-combat. RSC already has enough difficulty using banks due to the bankers only being able to talk to one person at a time and no right-click option for quick-banking, so it could be very humorous if anybody has screen-captures of some player's verbal responses to this. -- 19:49, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

shortly after the rest feature was added some monsters became unagressive and wouldn't attack you after u attacked them this glitch was enjoyed for the short time it lasted i know it happened on some worlds and not all because they updated some worlds again that day (june 9th 2009) i looked at world select at only some worlds were down i remembered worlds 40, 1,2,3, were offline after that quick fix by jagex the only monster i know personnally that did this was the cockroach soldier anyone know anything else about this plz post Manofflames6 00:03, 12 June 2009 (UTC)

This glitch crashed the market and wiped out the economy of Blood Runes

This glitch happened by starting Kennith's Concern quest and going through the tunnel in and out until your familiar disappears.

After that you are able to going any were with your familiar such as Barbarian Assault, you are able to put Blood Runes inside the familiar, get out and keep them.

Bug Abusers got banned for this and it got fixed without a system update! This bug increased our chance of knowledge about the game.

[edit] Right click box glitch

On my way to the Great orb project I stumbled upon a glitch... dub it the Right-click box glitch!

Basically, right click something (like an attackable NPC) and walk until the next section of the map "loads". The options dissappear leaving just the "Cancel" option.

When u chopped it the shadow didn't disappear. I found it and immediately sent bug report. It has been fixed by Jagex. Here's a pic:
