DropsEdit

Sorry, this is probably in the wrong format and everything but for the Fungal Mages I highly recommend using salamanders on the Blaze(magic) option. This is extremely important, money-saving and is not mentioned in the article. This should be edited in by the author as a way to save money. Also this actually makes these monsters profitable! Think the limpwurt is noted - just going by what other people leaving on the ground.

limpwurt is noted and i got 17 spores

removed This also makes fungal mages the only monsters with a maximum health not ending in a zero. in trivia. Because this is untrue. if someone wants to re-add, put something like

This also makes fungal mages one of the few monsters with a maximum health not ending in a zero.

I tried to kill these with my whip and could not hit higher than 36 with 99 attack and 90 strength with super pots.....?

I don't know anything about this monster in particular.. But all monsters in the polypore dungeon are weak to magic and are resistant to melee/ranged. Signature5.pngSignature5Last.png 04:07, December 5, 2011 (UTC)

I had trouble adding a drop to these guys; when I click "submit" on the form to add to the seed drop table it tells me to "Please enter something before pressing submit" after inputting the information. Am I doing something wrong? Either way someone should add Poison ivy seeds to the seed drop table, I'd assume 'Uncommon' would be the rarity. Nutinurmacaroni 01:24, March 8, 2012 (UTC)

What type of attack? Edit

I recently decided to give these a shot. I usually just skipped over them, to keep gaining fast Slayer xp. But as a little side note that I've noticed and I'd like to ad, I don't know about anyone else's experince but I started using the Water Wave spell, and wasn't hitting much or high at all, then switched to Air Wave, and killing them 10x faster. So they must be more suseptable to the air attacks. I only have a magic level of 66 so I couldn't say anything about any higher level magic spells.

Type of attack to use Edit

At 80 magic using full slayer helm on slayer task:

  • 500 casts of wind wave killed me 35.
  • 450 casts of wind wave killed 28. (approx)
  • 500 casts of fire wave killed me 40.

Basically fire wave is better spell and hits harder, so if you have 75 magic it is faster to use fire wave.

Tasks?Edit

Kuradal assigns Fungal mages? I don't think that's possible as I've only gotten Grifolaroos for a slayer task, but never fungal mages. The only times I've gotten Fungal mages were from Chaeldar and Duradel. I think someone vandalized it. 12:59, 28 April 2012.

Why not the Ardougne cloak 3 or 4? Edit

Obsidian cape has more melee defenses, 9 magic defense, no magic attack, no prayer boost. Compare to Ardougne cloak 3 which has 6 magic attack and defence and prayer boost. I think it's more well balanced. Warp9pnt9 15:36, April 28, 2012 (UTC)

Potato cactus drops (noted) being 1 or 8 Edit

Potato Cactus I just had a Fungal Mage drop 1 noted potato cactus. I have added this to the drop table, and it can be discussed here.

Are you sure? The one noted potato cactus is a drop from the Infested axe. It's possible someone accidently killed it and the drop was on the spot where you killed the fungal mage. Not sure how, but every Fungal mage that dropped me some potato cactus was noted and always in packs of eight. Talk to me on my talk page for more questions about Polypore monsters. Beingity? Think not so earthily! I see it clear as unclear water; they're fungalized ghasts that's what... Ghasts are animated by the earth, nature of their inhabit of Morytania, no more. And why'd i twist whole phare in title alone is bc editor lag. Edit

Flakes & DamageEdit

Do you think they rarely drop fungal flakes?

When i came to first kill them, within a few hours I only recieved around enough for a total of 750k. During the times I had them for a slayer task, I always seem to have gotten enough to create one Fungal visor. I also used a Ring of wealth. However, when I kill them offtask, I still use my Ring of Wealth. However, the flake drops seem to be declining, and the most recent trip I killed around 30-50 Fungal mages and only recieved around 110 Fungal flakes, which is quite odd, as I've killed Grifolapines and within a couple of kills, I get enough for a Grifolic visor. Is it me, or am I just unlucky?

Also one more question, do they do more damage then the Grifolic creatures? I've let myself get hit by them, never got hit over 100 by them. However, I compared it aganist a Grifolaroo, and from the damage analysis I've done, it seems that the Grifolaroo's magic damage usually hits at 50-65, while the Fungal mage hits usually around 50-75, despite having a combat level of 120.

If you are suspcious of vandalzing or some other stuff, talk to me on my talk page. Dungeonmaster12 (talk) 21:59, July 26, 2012 (UTC)

Cannons? Edit

It says in the article that cannons are highly advised and hit 300's.  I've never fought these guys before but figured I'd give it a go. I wasted a ton of cannonballs. I don't think I ever hit higher than 38 on them.  I was firing the cannon for a full 90 seconds or so and still hadn't killed a single mage.  So, am I missing something or is this cannon reccomendation perhaps from before the EOC?
