Who would know to look for this exact name? Sure, we can do a lot of redirects, I suppose...But I was thinking, maybe we could do an article on every world, say where it's located, whether it's members or not, possibly when it was introduced, if anyone knows...And, of course, notable facts like this one.

There is, I'm sure, somewhere more appropriate to write this, but knowing nothing about Wikis I haven't got a clue where it is :p Vimescarrot 16:12, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

It's usually called the Falador Massacre or maybe the 6/6/06 Massacre.

I guess an article on every world would be possible, but how many of them would have anything interesting? I think theres a lot of articles to add before then.

I read somewear on the forums of Runescape that soe worlds let u run faster than others. or some worlds freeze in low qulity. Some players say one world even has more valuble things hidden in unlikely places (ie. an addy axe in a hurch). just sayin. Forerunner 01:26, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Simple, I'll reinstate the Current events page and link this from there. Oddlyoko 01:26, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Answer[]

It can't be called the 6/6/06 massacre because it was 6/5/06, right? Lol, I like the Falador Massacre though, Lildogg747

6/6/06 appears to be the prevaling theory of the date. Anyway, why mention Duriel321? He was the one who exploited it the most, yes, but that doesn't make him the only one who did it.--Death motor 02:47, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Lil, the 666 massacre happened on around 1:30-3am, the early hours of, on the 6th of the 6th of the 6th according to GMT time, which is the time that Jagex work by. ~Chris 127

WRONG. This occurred in the early hours of 7th June 2006. It was 6/6/6 for most of America. However, the Jagex HQ AND the world it happened in (Australian) were into the 7th June. Therefore, this glitch happened on the 7th and not the 6th, contrary to the idiot emo's who hope that they can celebrate the 666 date with this.

It happened no where near the 7th. Chris is correct, it was the 5th in the US and the early hours of the 6th in the UK. 66.211.251.59 17:56, September 26, 2016 (UTC)

Proposed name change[]

I propose we change the article name to World 111 bug or something similar, since massacre is a loaded word that I don't think is used properly in this article. Hyenaste 08:21, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Support. Personally more inclined to just have the date as the name. But anything is better than what we've got. Vimescarrot 08:27, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Cursed_You[]

Why does he get an underscore? Woodcutting-iconHyenastetalk 05:10, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Whoops[]

I read somewhere that his user had an underscore, well, i'll fix that.

Lildogg747 06:00, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Title change[]

This article needs a name change, like the 666 glitch, or falador massacre. Rohtul Xel 23:23, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Why are those titles any better than the one we have? JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 06:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

yep this is the best title!

Fake?[]

The Edgeville video looks like a rock cake fake... guy with rubber chicken hits "victim", who eats a rock cake and gets 4 damage (always 4!).  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ace of Risk (talk).

Judging by the facts mentioned, and by the fact that it obviously took place after the bug was fixed, and the fact that the video is low quality, and by the fact that everyone in the video is shouting FAKE! and ROCK CAKE! all the time, I've deleted it. We only need the one video anyway. 216.224.121.141 16:37, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Nah, it ain't. The Wildeness was the safest part of RuneScape this day. It as trhe only place where the PKers could get killed and banned. Of course, I guess that there has been a Lumbridge Massacre if the killed PKers had respawned in Lumby...

Why not log out during attack?[]

I'm curious to know why anyone who wasn't attacked for 10 seconds didn't log out. Wouldn't this have made more sense than running around like maniacs? 74.120.173.137 04:37, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

They probably tried - they might not have been informed in time to log out, they might have tried running to the bank and not made it...We can't say how many people did log out because it's pretty hard to count :) JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 09:45, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
It was possible to log out during the massacre as seen on one other video. However as Vimes said they might not have been informed to log out, or did not know they could since it was a bug. --◙▲╛Whiplash ◙▲╛ 12:42, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Logging out[]

If I was one of the people stuck in Falador at the time I would have closed my browser.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Whitemage900 (talk).

If you're being attacked that doesn't work; if you're not then you could just click "log out". Besides which it's still no guarantee of you being logged out - your character may well have stood there for 30 seconds doing nothing, just waiting to be attacked. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 20:10, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
I once logged out with the big X button. I logged back in the next day. My stuff was gone! all i had was 1 out of 25 Mithril arrows. and a bronze axe, and a willow log. i logged out just about a metre into the wildi. obviusly my character was standing there while i was logged out. Maby those people couldnt log out because of frigh. and some got attackd and pressed the X button, so they dont have to wait 10 seconds after battle. Forerunner 17:55, 10 december 2006 (GMT)

what X button?

Second Video[]

Dosent look like the same massacre to me. --◙▲╛Whiplash ◙▲╛ 17:37, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Doesn't even look like a bug to me. Haven't watched much of it but what I have watched is a lot of people in the Wilderness, killing each other. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 17:41, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

cursed you banned?[]

I read somewhere that he had no action taken against him, as he didn't exploit the bug, he kicked everyone out of his house and people started pking. I don't recall where I read that though...Marcus Gord 22:31, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Well he was banned. Look in hiscores, he's not there..Too bad, he put all that work, and time into his skills, didn't do anything bad, and got banned for other's actions. Red partyhatDreadnoughttalk 22:34, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Not necessarily...You don't know exactly what he got banned for. That info is confidential anyway. He might have got banned for something completely unrelated :) Wacky coincidence if so... JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 07:47, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
The story told on many forums, is that Cursed_You was suspended / temporarily banned after the incident, but the later ban was due to multiple violations from a hacker on the account - the story as told on many forums, at least. Ace of Risk 16:19, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Here's the version I heard... "I've heard he sold hundreds of his rares on eBay, he was bragging in RuneScape Community he has made hundreds of thousands of dollars, Jagex apparently found out, and he was permanently banned." --Eucarya 00:05, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Then who was Duke Freedom? I've heard the above story about either of these players. I read somewhere that he sold various rares through eBay to fund college. It was kinda bittersweet: he said that Jagex banning him allowed him to completely leave RS for his new college life, a life he was able to achieve debt-free because of RS. Woodcutting-iconHyenastetalk 00:29, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm fairly certain that they both got banned for the same offense. It just coincided that cursed you's banning came shortly after his intense house party, which led to many people thinking he was banned in relation to the glitch. --Moobies1 06:57, 23 December 2006 (UTC)
If I were the mods, I'd focus on the bloody massacre! I mean, why would cursed you get banned for getting the people out of the house!? As far as he knew, that would fix things! People woulda got out anyway!Tv4375 20:39, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
He didnt't get banned for kicking people out of his house. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 20:45, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
I don't think he got banned, rather his Construction skill was lowered and his username changed, so nobody could 'hit' him for the glitch. 86.218.228.90 16:43, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
He was banned. JaGex says somewhere in the RuneScape Knowledge Base, that they would never raise or lower someones skill. He was banned for Real World Item trading. Probably selling gp for real life money :/, just shows how stupid it is to RWIT. Matt2 03:02, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Cursed You was in no way held responsible for the World 111 bug. A short time after the glitch occurred, his account fell in possession of a hacker. From what I've heard, the person went to Duel area and did some staking before he purposely got Cursed You banned. Whether Cursed You did actually RWT is controversial, but he did not admit to this crime. Skimped 03:12, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

UGH!!! HE WAS BANNED FOR RWT(REAL WORLD TRADING!!!)

I understand why ppl didn't logged out and stuff (by Aveyond007[]

Now I guess I undestand why ppl didn't logged out. According to Rimmngton's video, at the beginning none's aware. I still see that man in full steel, geting hit, with the 2 ppl getting amazed...And then the beginning of the massacre, at Falador. Ppl couldn't know what's going on, one of those who was begin attacked even said 'lol'...It was just unbelievable that ppl could get PKed in downtown Falador! And whan I see all the mods in Falador (Fally video) urging ppl to bank, it's already too late : 10 PKers are able to kill 'em before they even reach it! And, assuming it was a bug, WHO could tell that it was possible to log out? And you know, during the event everybodywas panicked, and while the 1st ones could log out, the last one had only one goal : flee! Fleeing was faster than logging out (4 seconds of logging out...) in those ppl's mind...Upon fear, we are very weak.

Because it was unheard of this being able to happen, most people probably thought it was a joke that they were being attacked, until they saw the Player Mods. Some people probably went into shock, and some probably exited their browser window - which is a bad idea. Your character doesn't log out straight away when you exit the browser, especially if you're in combat. Matt2 03:04, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Logging Out wasn't impossible, but it was a stupid idea to stand there and wait for a hit, while your game tried to log you out. Most people figured this out at the right time and ran for cover, in fact about 60 total players took hiding in the Zanaris due to the fact that the Pkers were to focused on killing rather than stopping at the bank and getting out the Dramen Staff.Silent Sea 23:41, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

A question about this..............[]

I've got a question about this glitch. Did they REALLY fix this glitch, or did they just say they did and fix something else? I mean, i've heard that the reason why this happened was because the server overloaded, is it possible to overload the server again and have this happened? Dont worry, im not gunna abuse this bug, cuz i dont feel like losing all this progress, and plus id hate to waste all my time for absolutely nothing...............--Pkthis 23:24, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

It was just a bug with the combat ring. You could go a glitch with it and attack people outside of it, ergo outside the Wilderness. I'm pretty sure they fixed it, as it hasn't happened again.--CanadianRichard (Talk - Contribs) 23:25, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Poor mistaken people...It CAN happen again. Just overload a server too much while leaving the Wilderness. But it wouldn't happen again. 200+ people can't leave the Wildy at the same time. But 200+ people can get expelled of an house at the same time. And IF the overload limit is reached...Save yourself away from portals and go to the Wilderness. Aveyond007 21:07, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
I would say they fixed it, but that's just my ipinion, there is no proof that it is still out there, but there also is no solid proof that it isn't still out there. I would have thought bug abuse groups would be onto it, if it was still around though. Matt2 03:05, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

hmmmmmmm............[]

I got a feeling they didnt fix the glitch. Someone was in my dungeon 1 day and when i died, i went back in my house, and when i went in my dungeon, sure enough, i saw somebody attacking people in my dungeon and yet they couldn't attack back. I SWEAR TO GOD IT HAPPENED. However, the glitch stopped once he went in the combat ring, as then when he went out, he couldnt attack anybody. Plus, nobody lost anything, so there was no problem with that. If i expelled him however...................oh geez, its a good thing i didnt do that. Anyone experience similar problems in their house? I think this only would happen if you were attacking someone and suddenly challenge mode is turned off. Just a feeling i get. And NO, i do not plan on repeating this glitch, because for 1, im a noob at fighting, 2, i do not want to get killed, and 3, i dont want to get banned and lose all my progress.--Pkthis 01:25, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Expaling some stuff[]

Ok, I recently took out a large section of the page. I'l go through it and explain my reasoning:

It is possibly the most infamous event in the history of RuneScape 2.

Point of view.

Many people find it ironic and possibly superstitious that it occurred on a date that can be shortened to 06/06/06. Six players were involved in the major part of the massacre, also leading to mathematics: 111 x 6 = 666, which also contributed to the superstition.

Misleading the reader, as the event happend on the 7th as well.

However, the event actually occurred on June 7 in the native time zones of many players.

Redundent.

The occurance was known by most players as the title given to it in all publications of the Durial321 interview by TheRat, "The Falador Massacre" and this name was created by the then RuneScape player "Rebel_Reject".

Okay, 2 reasons for this one:

1. No proof that this Rebel_Reject made up the name.

2. No proof that "most players" call it The Falador Massacre"

K, I think that's all of them. Sysop crownTes FanSysop crown 22:16, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

Agree with all the points detailed Blazel 20:38, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

I don't know, I call it the Falador Massacre, and that's what I've heard most people ever call it.

The PK riot a big event? HUH?[]

You got something wrong with what you wrote. The PK riot was not even that big. It was not even the first riot.

The true big event riot was the SwiftSwitch Riot. The SwiftSwitch riot was the VERY first riot EVER!!! It was on 2 worlds and went for 1 month.

Sign your posts with four tildes. The pk riot, not big? I have to object. It was THE BIGGEST. I ignored the whole thing, and still you would find yourself walking through towns filled with spamming rioters. It kept going for a while, too. Excalo 23:25, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Assuming you're talking about the PKing riot that happened back in December and not the one that happened like a week ago, I have to disagree. It was the largest riot to date. Dragon medium helm! Whaddaya know?Chiafriend12Better than rune!I have 12 friends. 23:38, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Tip.it 'interview'[]

Tip.it has been known to say some rather bizarre things (for example, 'PK or Die', a slogan from one of their most insane editions of the Times)...but I digress. Is there any proof that they actually interviewed Durial?Sir Revan125 19:58, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

I highly doubt that the person they interviewed actually was Cursed You. More likely, someone just made up a conversation. Also, Cursed You is not unbanned, check the Hiscores. User:C Teng/sig 23:54, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
@C Teng: they interviewed Durial321 not Cursed You. --85.158.139.99 10:36, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Grammar correction[]

The words "After he could no longer do this because World 111 was full in a matter of minutes" should be removed from the section "The Loss". This sentence no longer has a purpose since the conjecture (on Duriel123's luring party hat sellers) was removed from the article in May 2008. 144.32.126.12 04:34, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

You're correct. I will change it right now. Thanks. Bttb333 15:08, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

why are the names shown on this glitch?[]

why are the players names who have done the glitches here when wikia says to not use names but use third person instead when talking about someone. any of other glitches dont have names and are all in the glitch section, and this should be too. i suggest removing this title and putting it to glitch section without all the talk about riots and such. it should just be stated "there was a glitch where a player could attack another player anywhere some time in year 200x by doing this and that". or who thinks i should tell 100s of peoples stories about glitching on every glitch?

Why are there names for the first people to reach 200m xp? Because it's historical.

alright, if its historical, i guess i can edit all the other glitches and make a new page for them to tell their whole story with names and all then? as in, after all, they are historical too. and yeah i'll do that soon.

This glitch has its own article because it is much more notable than other glitches. Mass killing of players outside the Wilderness is far more notable than some glitches with emotes and such, right? C.ChiamTalk 13:20, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

yeah, sure are, except, lets think of glitches..

world 111 glitch involves attacking other players anywhere(players could easily drop items and teleport away back then) infinite prayer gives a player infinite prayer and weapon change glitch added alot damage to any weapon which could be used in pvp.

they all involve a different thing, world 111 glitch is 'environment glitch' while weapon change is a 'item glitch' and infinite prayer a 'player glitch', so yeah, its historical. these are the most famous and worst glitches that have happened in each of these glitch categories.

So....? C.ChiamTalk 13:42, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

so, thats why it should be put to glitches section just like all the others or make a page for each glitch instead of having them on 'glitch page'

That could happen again,right?[]

Yeah well it seems possible. It's not like it's that hard to start one of those.Get a couple of idiots to spread the word and hell everyone would do it.That's how stuff spreads. :| I'm not that stupid though,I wouldn't do something like that. D:

No dude, it won't happen again cause Jagex has taken extreme measures to prevent this from happening again- --Red Dog31 18:23, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
