Floors Edit

Hey, I think there should be a guide about Dungeoneering floors and their difficulty.La Vallett1 09:27, April 15, 2010 (UTC)

The only problem with that is the fact the floors are generally random depending on the individuals levels, how many people are in are party and what their Dungeoneering level is.

Glitch Pictures Edit

I think the glitch pictures should be relocated somewhere else. Perhaps a subpage or the gallery page on glitches. Krayfish 20:39, April 15, 2010 (UTC)

Argonite Arrows Edit

In the fletching skill guide (the one you see by clicking on the skill icon), under dungeoneering it states that you need 61 fletching to fletch an argonite arrow. I have 63 fletching and i mined some argonite ore, and figured i was in business. I use the arrowheads on the arrow shafts and after selecting how many (i tried all the options) a message pops up in my chat box that says "You need a Fletching level of at least 66 to do that"

Glitch or Jagex error? either way, it was extremely annoying lol 21:45, April 15, 2010 (UTC)

Jagex error. Fletch level required for arrows is equal to (Tier-1)*11, with exception of Tier 1, which is just level 1. Arrow shaft levels are equal to normal Tier levels (1 for 1, 10 for 2, 20 for 3, etc), and come in quantities of 15.5 + 5.5*(Tier-1) rounded down (Tangle gum yields 15 [15.5 + 5.5*(1-1)], Seeping elm yields 21 [15.5 + 5.5*(2-1)], etc). Ergori 01:11, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

Dungeoneering Trailer Edit

A really cool trailer to the Dungeoneering skill was released. Should it be added somewhere on this page? Krayfish 22:14, April 15, 2010 (UTC)

I guess a link could be added in the trivia section?Jonaboy 23:40, April 15, 2010 (UTC)

end of floor message Edit

a section which states what all of the modifiers on the message that appears when you end a floor mean is needed (sorry, cant thik of a better way to phrase it).

Herblore Potions table Edit

Looks like I finally figured out how all the Herblore stuff goes, there is 3 kinds of herbs with 3 tiers each, resulting in 9 Herbs which I found in-game already. I'd appreciate if somebody can give it a section and format it inside a table in the most clear way possible, also letting people add more info.

Sagewort (tier 1 - "Weak" prefix), Wormwood (tier 2 - <regular, no prefix>), Winter's grip (tier 3 - "Strong" prefix)
+ Misshapen claw = Naturalist's potion (Cooking, Farming, Herblore and Runecrafting)
+ Red moss = Gatherer's potion (Improves a person's gathering skills: Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining)
+ Firebreath whiskey = Weapon poison (poisons Daggers and Spears)
+ Void Dust = Magic potion (Magic)

Aloe (tier 1 - "Weak" prefix), Featherfoil (tier 2 - <regular, no prefix>), Buckthorn (tier 3 - "Strong" prefix)
+ Misshapen claw = Rejuvenation potion (Prayer and Summoning)
+ Red moss = Stat restore potion (Restores drained stats)
+ Firebreath whiskey = Cure potion (Protects against poison, disease and dragonfire)
+ Void dust = Defence potion (Defence)

Valerian (tier 1 - "Weak" prefix), Magebane (tier 2 - <regular, no prefix>), Lycopus (tier 3 - "Strong" prefix)
+ Misshapen claw = Melee potion (Attack and Strength)
+ Red moss = Artisan's potion (improves a person's creation skills: Smithing, Crafting, Construction, Fletching and Firemaking)
+ Firebreath whiskey = Survivalist's potion (Agility, Thieving, Hunter & Slayer)
+ Void dust = Ranged potion (Ranged)

Someone else might have done this before but I didn't see it posted here yet, so I did the trouble by myself and wrote this table. I prefer to remain anonymous. Just put it in the wiki in a clear way so I don't have to look at my ugly txt files.

I just did a table in the Potions page of Dungeoneering that shows the tiers of herbs matched with the 2nd ingredients, and showing the resulting potions. It's a little messy, but it summarizes how to get each potion. Ergori 01:01, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

the current bugs (unfixed) Edit

THE LAST ENTRY(as of this edit) reads:
If you are following someone(and they are part of your team) and they enter a dungeon, you will be facing their direction no matter where you move.

unfixed bugs section Edit

last entry (as of this writing) reads:

If you are following someone(and they are part of your team) and they enter a dungeon, you will be facing their direction no matter where you move.

. . .

seems to be a bit hard to follow....

I believe the writer means:

If you are following someone(and they ACCEPT AN INVITATION TO THE SAME team YOU ARE ON) AFTER BOTH OF YOU ENTER YOUR TEAM'S dungeon,YOUR CHARACTER will be facing TOWARDS THEM no matter where you move.

but could mean the one you are following must enter first in which case:

If you are following someone(and they ACCEPT AN INVITATION TO THE SAME team YOU ARE ON) IF THEY ENTER THE dungeon BEFORE YOU, YOUR CHARACTER will be facing TOWARDS THEM no matter where you move.

Equipment Sandbag Edit

I'm sorry if my title line isn't particularly nice, but here it is: if you Dungeon (?) in F2P, you likely get Fractite equipment and armour, but if you play P2P, you more than likely get Tier 1 equipment. This makes the skill easier to train (at lower levels) in F2P, but harder to train (at deeper floors and higher complexity (also in F2P). (I could have phrased this better, sorry.) Meaning that if F2Ps buy membership, they may be disappointed. This also means that it might be better for members to Dungeon and bind items in F2P until they get XP/levels up. --Sw0rd1804 14:56, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

I can't vouch for F2P, but in P2P I almost never see any T1 stuff. Nirc 21:35, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
A recent update made dungonering harder to train on f2p by having the base xp reduced by 1/2. Jonaboy 02:35, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

xp Edit

(Sorry if someone has already started this discussion elsewhere). We should figure out what determines the xp reward. It seems to me that the base xp (before all the bonuses) is (xp(n)+xp(max(a,b)))/2, where n is the floor just completed, a is "current progress", ie the number of distinct floors completed before this one, b is "previous progress", ie your current progress when you last clicked reset, and xp(n) is some function we could try to tabulate/guess a formula for. I'll start a table here next time I play, unless someone beats me to it (xp(n) should be in the top left box after you complete floor n). Stewbasic 18:26, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

For anyone who has a low fishing level and wants free lobbies... go to the wilderness entrance of Dungeoneering and kill the blue lobsters there (level 2, 60 hp).. they each drop a lobster and its not considered part of the wilderness... :P its just something i found thats handy for quick food... Error Edit

Sometimes when entering a dungeon it changes the graphics from standard to safe mode for no reason. Not sure if it is just me or others have the same problem.

Another weird thing I found. (pic below) Found northeast of the dungeoneering castle on f2p world.

[[File:Invisible man.png]]

It's just a Fremminik Ghost, nothin g to worry about unless you go to the one in the corner, you'll be attacked. Runecrafting-icon Stormsaw1 Talk Sign HighscoresRunecrafting-icon 03:43, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

Another error = When using a fractite longsword, after defeating a boss using "lunge" attack. When the new dungeon loads, the game switches the attack style to "block" for no apparent reason. Aggrivating when you don't notice the change.

Same thing happened to me, I found out it is caused by the weapons having 4 attack styles and 'unarmed' has only 3 styles, so when you're on lunge and switch to unarmed your style will 'stay' on the same spot which is taken by block. Magicaragorn 12:28, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

Same here, its really annoying because dungeoneering is a very time-consuming and repetitive skill(if not the most).Darkheartl 13:55, April 24, 2010 (UTC)

Another Error = Sometimes after leveling up in dungeoneering, it says you unlock the next floor. However, you cannot access that floor until you unlock the next floor after that.

Rewriting Controversy Edit

I don't often edit wikis, but the controversy section seems like it should be written from a more neutral viewpoint regarding the fact that members have again received more options. I may be wrong, because, again, I don't really edit wikis, and I don't really know much of the rules and requirements, but that just kind of stood out to me.

Soloing Disconnect Experience Edit

"When playing through a dungeon solo a player will lose all progress if they log out or suffer a disconnection. Jagex mods claim that a player will receive a reduced amount of XP when this happens, however no actual XP is gained until a player completes a dungeon. Inquries into how much XP is still gained in such a situation have thus far been ignored, and Jagex seems uninterested in fixing this glitch."

In my experience, this is not the case. When I log out halfway through the dungeon, upon logging back in, I find myself in that little waiting room where you can rejoin your party. Obviously, since I don't have a party, I climb down the stairs. Climbing down the stairs gives you a portion of whatever experience you had earned so far in the dungeon. Floor not available???Edit

Ok, this is really pissing me off. I am level 51 in dungeoneering and can only access floors 1-24. I should be able to go to 1-26 but the other floors aren't showing up. Anyone else having this problem???

Well I did floor 24, 3 times in a row and now i can go to floor 25. Wierd

Members doors on F2PEdit

Do you think they are put in purposely or are they an error?

I think purposely. There are a lot of stuff thats members that you can see in free worlds. And please remember to sign your posts. Darkheartl 13:53, April 24, 2010 (UTC)

It's intentional. There are probably a few reasons for that, but I believe the first and most important being that they would *probably* need two different engines to generate dungeons in the two areas. But the rooms locked by skills are "bonus rooms" anyways, and they *shouldn't* prevent you from killing the boss (although there have been times when they have...and I'm p2p). Jagex said that they have no intent to address this situation. ~Wrthlss Noob (10 May 2010)

Abandoned 2 Edit

In the bosses Section, there was a floor type called "?". I've changed it to Abandoned 2, since it's referred to that in the Daemonheim waiting room portals.

People keep saying this is stupid cuz you cant use dungeoneering outside of Daemonheim. Jagex is making a new quest right now that involves Dungeoneering a lot. This might come with new dungeons that you need a lvl to enter. These might not give xp so its sorta like back when we were noobs and hit dummys 4 xp then tried out our 8 attk on goblins. TRAIN YOUR DUNGEONEERING NOW!

Scoring Edit

What exactly is the scoring at the end of the floor? Does a player receive points for unused resources? Is creating a "Scoring" section an idea? --Sw0rd1804 14:14, April 19, 2010 (UTC)

Boss/Monster Drops Edit

I'm not entirely sure but aren't the drop close to random. They may drop items in relation to they combat level. so i dont think we need the drops section of every monster down there (bosses..... maybe). If we're gonna list everything they drop there's gonna be super long articles on nearly all of them. Full slayer helmet Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon platebody 18:32, April 19, 2010 (UTC)

I believe each boss drops an item type (for example the night gazer drops plateskirts and the plane freezer drops gauntlets). An exception could be the Bulwark Beast which drops 2 types of items (both hatchets and pickaxes). The bosses can drop a unique item, not obtained otherwise (the tier 11 item). In addition to this, the drop depends on your skill levels as well as the party size and the boss combat level. A 5 man maxed combat team (all players 138) for example fighting the shadow forger (who will be around level 520 combat or possibly higher) is very likely to receive a primal kiteshield as a drop. If none of the players has 99 defence though, the primal kiteshield (requiring 99 defence) cannot be obtained. I'd personally like to see an extra column in the boss table listing the unique drops bosses have (the tier 11 ones) btw. I might try to make one later. Lathow 17:22, April 22, 2010 (UTC)

Glitch - Imposible to Complete FloorEdit

I was on lvl 10 and had just started it. My friend quit, so I was alone. I got about 5 rooms, and then I found a door that said it needs a gold key. But, I had unlocked all other rooms and none had any keys! So I had to quit. This is a big glitch. Anyone else experienced this? Cake The Master of Paninos Talk HS Bread 20:28, April 19, 2010 (UTC)

While a rare glitch, I have had this happen to me as well. In my case it appeared as though one of the needed keys was locked behind a skill door of substantially higher level than my character had. Generally it isn't a huge deal, but doing a floor all over again does sort of stink. --Robert Horning 20:42, April 19, 2010 (UTC)

Robert, did you make a potion? the extra strength(or prayer or construction etc) from the right potion should bring you high enough i would bet.... as for the master of paninos, his buddy might have been needed to finish the level thouygh I do agree he probably had a blocked door hiding needed key a blocked door that his buddy needed to open.... if he had gotten to the boss room a ravonous beast would have sent him packing anyway

a two man team is most vuneralable since two must block his food supply

Heres another one, the ferret room with vile fish asks for lv 103 fishing, on a free world. O.o

I realized something that we should put in the article Edit

For dungeoneering they set the dungeon so that you or your team can do it. They don't make it impossible to do for a low lvl.

this is provided that the entire team doesn't make any mistakes. for instance, if you sell all resources gathered them you likely will be left with armor and weapons that are too low to complete level or you may need potion you can no longer make

Floor 0 Glitch???Edit

A combination of being kicked from a party and posably lag led to me being still in the party with all my items droped. I was not officially in the party but i helped beat the boss (Alexis) Then after they took the party and proceded i was stranded. I decided to use my ring to form a party and end the stage and the end result was me getting only prestidge experience from a Floor 0 when i was on floor 20. Should I post this as a glich? You can create Multiple Gatestones. If you make a Gatestone and use the smuggler to drop it you can make another one. your teammates can pick up and use the first one you dropped.

Dungeoneering Branches of Skills Edit

Concerning the skills, most direct to a separate dungeoneering version of the skill, ie: dungeoneering/cooking. However, some such as attack and strength do NOT. I modified the dungeoneering/strength page back when it WAS directed to that, adding a list of mauls and the required strength levels, as well as it stated the strength doors. However, the link was changed to the normal strength page which states NOTHING about dungeoneering and just the basics to str and its normal equipment (which doesn't exist in Dungeoneering).

I can't edit because the page is semi-protected and this is a pretty new account. Just thought I'd point it out. ~Hofmic 15:55, April 21, 2010 (UTC)

Just wait a couple days and edit it if someone else has not by then. It takes a few days to be able to chane things on a new account. Zirgon 18:15, April 22, 2010 (UTC)

Dungeoneering rewards counter-intuitive? Edit

Seems rather ironic you can't use the rewards in the actual skill/dungeon.

Armour spawns Edit

What determines the type of armour spawning in the starting room in a dungeon? I can wear up to Katagon, but I only ever get Zephyrium. Do you have to have the Smithing level to make the metal bar to get those items or something? Icecold531 19:13, April 24, 2010 (UTC)

they are random from what i've found. tend to be on the low side. I can smith all the armour in f2p, and can wield all the armour, yet I dont get anything higher than tier 3. Sundays211 21:53, April 24, 2010 (UTC)
It's not random, or I'd have gotten Argonite or Katagon already. Icecold531 22:10, April 25, 2010 (UTC)

I am pretty sure that this is how it works, it is not random though i think that the starting armour you get depends on your dungeoneering lvl to defence lvl ratio. eg i hav 51 def and 16 dungeoneering atm and i get kratonite but before i got lvl 8 (i think) in dungeoneering i would get marmos, and when i started i got bathus and my lower lvl partner got novite.(i am f2p btw)

I think it's there is a better chance at getting 2 tiers less than what you can use, and then you can also get worse items. For me I always see Argonite, and I can wear Gorgonite.Lord marshal cap Elysian Aura Elysian spirit shield 03:01, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

Unverifiable claims? Edit

What's this about Skiller 703 having lead in the dungeoneering scoreboard since level 4? Highscores don't track beyond level 30, so it's illogical to accept a claim like that unless we know the dungeoneering levels of every other runescape player at the time.

Besides that, this is the wrong place to keep such information. I think the statement should go to trivia and/or wiki/Skill_Mastery#First_players_to_achieve_level_99

Not only are these claims unverifiable, but they are able to be proven wrong. Below is a picture of the early hiscores. Skiller 703 is nowhere to be found.

Dungeoneering Level Cap Edit

Any comments on this theory: "It's possible that Jagex picked the level cap of 120 for Dungeoneering (as opposed to a number like 115 or 130) because it is the closest number divisible by ten under the 200 million experience cap. Level 130 would require 280,681,209 experience, which is well over 200 million experience."

Edit request Edit

Under Trivia it says Jagex plan to add 2 floor, when actually (according to given reference) it's 2 sets of floors. 21:33, May 10, 2010 (UTC)

Another way to get unlimited rings of kinship Edit

I left a dungeon with my ring of kinship in my inventory and it ended up on the floor in the dungeon and a ring was also in my inventory. My partner picked it up and left the dungeon and he had his ring and my ring. 22:36, May 10, 2010 (UTC)Username: Nicholas4132

Today's Lesson: How to write a caption Edit

[[File:Yellow Wedge Door.png|thumb|350px|A "Yellow Wedge" [[Dungeoneering]] door which requires a yellow wedge key to open]]Okay. If you know how to write a sentence (with a subject and a predicate) this shouldn't be so hard to comprehend. Okay now, let's pretend you have a picture of the King Black Dragon. Would the caption be "King Black Dragon" or "King Black Dragon."? If you picked the latter, you are absolutely...wrong. "King Black Dragon" is a subject. There is no action happening, so it doesn't get a period. However, it gets more confusing. Look to the picture and caption on the right. It is a picture of a Dungeoneering "Yellow Wedge" door. At first glance, the caption may look like a sentence. You may see " 'Yellow Wedge' Dungeoneering door" and think, "There's the subject." You may then see "requires" and think, "There's the action. This must be a sentence." However, the whole caption is really just the subject. Imagine that everything after "A 'Yellow Wedge' Dungeoneering door" is in parenthesis. It would look like this: A "Yellow Wedge" Dungeoneering door (which requires a yellow wedge key to open. It this case, the word "which" is keeping this from being a sentence. This is a complete sentence: A "Yellow Wedge" Dungeoneering door requires a yellow wedge key to open. In many other cases it's the suffix "ing" that keeps captions from being sentences. For example: "Players <insert name> and <insert name> abusing the bug" When we take off the "ing", it becomes a sentence. "Players <insert name> and <insert name> abuse the bug." One more rule is that when there is one incomplete sentence next to a complete one, everything receives a period so as not to confuse any readers. Here an article about caption grammar:

:Dude, fix your attitude. That was an unnecessary rant that honestly doesn't help, because anyone that cares about it enough to fix it already knows what they're doing. Your stuck up mocking-informative tone of voice does not encourage the helpful, educative mood that is meant to accompany this community. If you want your topics to be noticed or action to be taken in a situation such as this, post about it in the Yew Grove or be bold and elaborate in the style guide. Riblet15 23:12, May 12, 2010 (UTC)
:I somewhat agree with Ribblet, might not have been quite as harsh. But the time it took you to write that you probably could have fixed every single instance of this on the wiki. HaloTalk 23:17, May 12, 2010 (UTC)
:Also, this has nothing to do with dungeoneering.  Ranged-icon Zap0i TalkRune scimitar  23:20, May 12, 2010 (UTC)
:What I don't understand is your apparent need for sarcasm and ridicule whenever you "point out" something to the rest of us. I'm not just referring to your little "lesson" here, but also to some of your replies to others on your talk page. I can understand that you may be feeling a bit frustrated at the edits of other people on the Wiki, but that does not justify the use of extreme sarcasm and thinly-veiled ridicule and contempt of others. Keep in mind that all editors are equal and should therefore be treated with the same amount of respect and courtesy as you would have them treat you. Remember, behind every user name on the Wiki is a fellow human being who deserves the basic human right of being treated as an equal, not like rubbish. If you continue to treat people with unwarranted contempt and ridicule, don't expect others to be so kind toward you. I surely hope that you will learn from this incident and will refrain from being arrogant and rude in the future. Sullivan-1.jpg N7 Elite (Ready to talk now?) 23:45, May 12, 2010 (UTC)

:@Zap0i In a sense, it has everything to do with Dungeoneering, seeing that almost every image on the article had a bad caption. You do the math. It is true that my attitude was horrible, and I do apologize.----Joel amos 11:29, May 13, 2010 (UTC)

Member Skill Doors on Free Worlds Edit

In this guide it mentions that you may run into doors that require members skills to open on free worlds. If you are an ex member, and have the skill requirement, can you open these doors?

No. Even thought I have member skills, I am currently F2P, and I receive a message about needing to be on a member's world and blah blah blah...----Joel amos Talk Contribs 19:21, May 17, 2010 (UTC)

Lag? Edit

I've talked to some in game friends who play rs on a fixed high speed broadband connection and they are all saying they often lag when trying to trade with the smuggler, or lag randomly while trying to complete a dungeon, even though they wernt lagging before they went in. Anyone on here have that problem? Defence cape (t) Rabbit FearArmadyl godsword 01:26, May 18, 2010 (UTC)
:Dungeoneering=Lag. It's a fact of life until Jagex fixes it. 01:27, May 18, 2010 (UTC)

Misleading Edit

With more and more confirmation coming from jagex through developer’s blogs, forum posts and Q&A’s, I feel this page should be completely re-done. The only things that should be on this page are skill related things. Daemonheim should be the main page for most of this. Daemonheim and Dungeoneering are two different things and I feel should be 2 different pages. This page should have things like the skill cape and other stuff, just like all the other skill pages, and skill tables. Things that relate to the Dungeoneering skill, not Daemonheim. There can be simple guides like where to go to get started, but I don’t feel this page should be this complex.
I’m not a super special person or anything. But I feel its misleading telling people that Dungeoneering = Daemonheim, when they are 2 completely different things.
I guess this is up for debate. But I feel someone should re-work this, someone who has more skill than I do.--Hawkeye8880 17:18, May 31, 2010 (UTC)

Baulder's Gate: Dark Alliance Edit

"The Dungeoneering skill is similar to the video game, Baulder's Gate: Dark Alliance, in terms of puzzles, dungeons and others."

This statement is kinda pointless. If that comparison is to be made, then dungeoneering is similar to about 100,000 different RPG/Dungeon Crawl type games...Also BG:DA is fairly new but NOT a new concept. See - Diablo & Ultima and a ton of other games. Actually, having played a ton of games myself, Dungeoneering is only a very generous "slightly" similar to BG:DA.. My main point is that these kind of statements are just adding to the mile high stack of clutter. As Hawkeye suggested above - this all needs to be redone or polished. There's a lot of clutter, atleast in my opinion.

This link Edit

"Jagex stated[here,] (Swedish RuneScape Forums) that the reason why Dungeoneering can be levelled all the way up to 120 is because the developers couldn't fit everything they wanted in the skill with only level 99."

if you click on it it locks you into swedish forums.

I want to remove it but it needs the reference. Ulmuchiha 15:04, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

Error Edit

It says anything from Gielinor cannot be brought into Daemonheim with the exception of the Ring of kinship and the Orb of Oculus(idk what the orb is) but the Ring of kinship is made in Daemonheim. And there are rewards from tokens which are made in Daemonheim but are to be used in Gielinor.

monster weaknesses Edit

Should the various monster strength/weaknesses of monster in Daemonheim be noted?

I've noticed that certain monsters are highly resistant or susceptible to various attack styles.
