Untitled[]

i think that the symbol of the dragonkin is only the star because in the dragonkin's castle in the cutscene from A Tail of Two Cats, and in the area seen in the cutscene from While Guthix Sleeps, smaller versions of just the star part of the symbol can be seen dotting the floor. they probably want the stone of jas and this is why they put the stone with their symbol.--Dindirindin 11:54, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

Too many images[]

Suggestion - Perhaps it would be a good idea to move most of the images in this article into a gallery above References. There appears to be more than what is usual here and are cluttering up the article. Zig 15:45, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

An idea[]

In a somewhat recent Chaos Elemental correspondence - namely Letter 12 - there was a decoded reference to a new Myreque quest. Now, considering that apparently there is some speculation as to whether or not the Dragonkin are located around/below Castle Drakan, and that their presence could definitely set off a new quest... You get some interesting ideas. Will the Dragonkin be featured in an upcoming quest concerning the Myreque? TheLioness 00:59, September 26, 2009 (UTC)

I really hope so, as I LOVE quests, and one of the most interesting stories ever is the WGS one just because of the dragonkin behind it! not the Stone, Lucien, Movario or ANYTHING else! the Dragonkin story is the most AMAZING story of RS, and it's related to the history of RS since the creation of the realm! I really hope to see and fight a dragonkin myself soon. =DQuest point cape detail Brux Talk 03:23, October 8, 2009 (UTC)

Book Of Folklore

The book of Folklore mentions elder-dragons thus meaning dragonkin the ancestors of dragons, should we add that the book mentions their existence and role? XXstaticXX 05:17, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

God of the dragonkin[]

I think the Dragonkin wheren't created by a god but I think by an elder god since they have immense power, and the eledergod that ime looking for is jas. since jas created gielinor it can't be a coincedence that the dragonkin where on gielinor before guthix. And the last proof is that they where guardians of the stone.

dragonkin compass found[]

http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/33/34988811.th.jpg

in postbag 43 i tihnk kbd says that to find the kbd you need to find thier compass wich created by dragon relted places

"Metal wearer,

Your attentions are misplaced. Threats gather quietly, like steam on glass, yet your head is filled with the threads between things. This is the way of the flesh-formed: to attempt to find order when confronted by chaos, even when chaos is fanged and baying.

I have learnt to talk in your terms. Think of dragons as rivers, flowing from a single mountain. The source, material and purpose are kin. Yet, each river carves a path to the purpose in a singular manner, caring not for the others unless their paths cross. While one river may be larger or faster than another, no river can claim to be a relation of another. This abstraction is dragon.

-->Now lift your head from this paper and uncover your compass. At each point sits a danger. You would be wise to take their heads.<--

now look at this map:

all dragon places or related with danger creating the dragon compass as you can see it on the dragonkin page..the wildrens volcano has bones with examine that says that it coud be the dragon kin

the demonic ruines in spirit realm has dragon kin symbol on it

other places populated with dragons  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nady999 (talk) on 22:33, November 24, 2010 (UTC).

The compass: http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/5017/rsmap25may10dragonkin.th.jpg

N: The North

NE: Dragonkin castle (in Spirit Realm)

E: Castle Drakan (dragon dung smell?)

SE: The desert - I'd guess the Tormented Demon dungeon is below the Desert, based on the direction where the dungeon goes

S: Ape Atoll

SW: Soul Wars - or something unknown deep below it

W: Prifddinas

NW: Lunar isle - The Stone of Jas was there

Center: Entrana seems to be the closest sense-making candidate for the centre Muhahaa 21:01, November 25, 2010 (UTC)

Possible use for Ivandis Flail[]

Hey, did you notice that dragonkin look a lot like vyrewatch? Methinks that they might have similar abilities. Hint Hint? (And, before anyone asks, dragonbane weapons to dragonkin might be the same as blisterwood to vyres).

Yeah, maybe there's an alliance? (or maybe drakan borrowed the castle) Would explain the dragon dung smell.
Just going to call this now and say I think it's highly unlikely. 23:25, November 8, 2011 (UTC)

Some speculation on the role of Dragonkin in Gielinor's history[]

A few things have occurred to me. Here's my thinking, based on some currently known facts:

  • Dragonkin created Dragons.
  • Dragons were around as mounts in Zaros's army.

Therefore Dragonkin had to be around in force enough to create a civilisation powerful enough to genetically engineer dragons, before the Second Age.

  • When Lucien used the Stone of Jas for his own purposes, the Dragonkin appeared and laid waste to everything in the area.
  • When Kethsian mages used the Stone of Jas to power their entire world's magic, the Dragonkin appeared in a castle (I seem to recall, to the East?) and destroyed the WHOLE PLANE. Their mortal efforts to stop this were totally in vain.
  • The God Wars were fought partially in order for Zamorak to regain control over the Stone of Jas from Saradomin, where it had seen regular use. Immediately beforehand, Zamorak had used the stone to gain enough power to survive fighting his patron god Zaros.
  • When Guthix awoke ending the Third Age, he tried to destroy the Stone of Jas where he found it (He failed, leaving an imprint of the stone in the ground, at what became the Fist of Guthix arena). He then tasked his elite agents Crux Equal with hiding it (They hid it in the Fremennik mountains).
  • At the beginning of the Fourth Age after the God Wars were over, the Dragonkin suddenly resurfaced in a location that looks like Castle Drakan, and were eventually defeated by Robert the Strong.

Therefore: Whenever the Stone of Jas is used by someone the Dragonkin deem unworthy, they appear in a castle to the East. The amount that the stone is used is proportional to the rage that builds inside them, that is only abated by them wreaking destruction.

Consider this, then:

  • Guthix found the stone and used it to bring life to the barren rock that was Gielinor. Then he created all magic in the plane with it.
  • There is a MASSIVE Dragonkin castle to the edge of the Wilderness, that up until recently was completely invisible to us.
  • Guthix had to rest to recover after making everything, and was awoken only by the God Wars.

So here is my revisionist speculatory history:

1ST AGE BEGINS

  • Guthix finds and uses the Stone of Jas to bring life to Gielinor.
  • The Dragonkin appear in a huge castle (Daemonheim) and try to destroy everything.
  • Guthix realises that his use of the stone has done this, and buries it. The Dragonkin don't stop, so he uses all of his godly powers to destroy them and hide their castle from the world so nobody can repeat his mistake.
  • Now completely drained of power, he leaves Gielinor to recuperate.

1ST AGE ENDS

  • While Guthix "sleeps", the world is found by other gods. Zamorak finds the Stone of Jas and uses it to defeat Zaros.

2ND AGE ENDS

  • The remaining gods fight amongst themselves using the Stone of Jas against each other.
  • Guthix senses this, wakes up and uses what remains of his power to stop them. He tries to destroy the stone, but he can't and he does not have the power to fight the Dragonkin that will come, so he tasks his human followers with hiding the stone as his last act before departing once more.

3RD AGE ENDS

  • The gods vanish, bound by the Edicts of Guthix, and the Dragonkin resurface in a new castle (Now Castle Drakan) to ravage the world again.

Sounds plausible?

Hmm, not a bad theory. Although, I think that Daemonheim is supposed to have always been there, but nobody has gone there until the Fifth Age. Remember that Bilrach invades in the late Fourth Age, so it had to have been around then. Other than that, it could well be true. There is evidence of the Dragonkin being around before most other races, certainly. 17:37, October 30, 2011 (UTC)
I see your confusion regarding what I wrote - I've just popped in some "Age" markers and restructured the timeline to make a bit more sense.
Also, I wonder if maybe the Edicts were simply "I've hidden the stone. If you ever set foot on this world again, or try to wrest control of more than your fair share, I'll set something up to automatically drain it as fast as possible, and within a month you will be ruling over a smoking ball of charred rubble." Obsidian charm Magma2050 T C E Obsidian charm 18:04, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

Another thing occured to me - While exploring the warped floors of Daemonheim, you can find a Fist of Guthix token and a Scrap of parchment containing Guthix's quote about his sleep being more a focussing of concentration than anything else. I think these are hints that the Dragonkin fortress of Daemonheim is intricately tied to the first use of the Stone of Jas and Guthix's subsequent period of dormancy. Perhaps Guthix defeated the Dragonkin, scrubbed all life from Daemonheim, hid the stone at the bottom, enchanted the floors to jumble themselves up to prevent people from getting there, then finally hid the whole castle from view to stop anyone from repeating his mistake. I haven't read much of the journals, but I don't think the castle was ever hidden. My contributionsTHARKON 04:01, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

Skeletal possibilities.[]

Now since Wilderness graphical update, there can be found skeletons in Boneyard that has examine text 'Could this have been one of the ancient Dragonkin?'. There are more than 2 of them, there.. Yet i belive they're not dragonkins, for sake of their faces, wich remind be of demons most likely--surely when demons die, they turn to dust but.. They have horns, and quite humanoid skull too. No view of wings, maybe has gotten or not. Too, around the yard, can be found bones that remind of dragons or something, with examine text of 'Looks like it used to be some kind of reptile.'. These how ever are found all around wilderness so that case would've dragoned, hm? ^^

Just saying, no deal for them being dragonkins anyway..

"Language" section combination with Dragonkin Primer page[]

It doesn't quite make sense that the entirety of the Dragonkin Primer's entries and contributions to knowledge we have of the Dragonkin language be on this page, so we should keep the gist of their language and how we know what we know about it here, but move a bulk of what is on this page to the Dragonkin Primer page. 71.192.30.165 19:57, June 17, 2015 (UTC)

RESIGNED LOGGED IN. Salamence45 (talk) 19:58, June 17, 2015 (UTC)

Agreed. In fact, since we know a lot about the language, it could get its own article akin to Old Gnomish. Thoughts? 18px-Avatar.png Fswe1 26px-Brassica_Prime_symbol.svg.png 06:56, June 18, 2015 (UTC)
Has there been any mention of a name of their language? Or do the dragonkin just speak Dragonkin? Or their dragonkin "common tongue"? Given the information that is available about words and translations in the language, a separate article seems like a good idea. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 07:02, June 18, 2015 (UTC)
Just Dragonkin language I guess. 18px-Avatar.png Fswe1 26px-Brassica_Prime_symbol.svg.png 07:59, June 18, 2015 (UTC)
Since there are instances of the language outside the primer, it'd probably be better to give it its own page. Adventurer's log Wahisietel (Talk) Quest map icon 10:25, June 18, 2015 (UTC)
