[edit] the model?
http://sunlink101.com/data/storage/attachments/0889e101b3264d5ad139f960c497f296.jpg
thats the url for a very clear picture of mine =]
1. The image is very jaggy. 2. The model has the art style of everything released in early RS2. Minimal detail. 3. The spikes were rendered using a cheap gradiation effect.
It's nice overall, but it isn't an actual piece of concept art imho. I may be wrong though. earth(t) 17:32, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
+Weired rune+
If you look at the picture of the guy on the bridge it almost looks like a life rune under him... 24.154.36.112 23:17, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

i copyed the clan wars picture to paint made it bigger got a photo of the dragon chain i then compared the two the one in clan wars has larger shoulders then the dragon chainbody would someone try that as well and tell me what they think?
[edit] stats
Has anyone finished the quest and gotten the plate body so that they can tell us the stats are. It look great but people have to consider if the stats are worth how hard it is to get.
[edit] grand exchange link
maybe very much useful [1]

[edit] Useless..
This plate is so useless. Bonuses are so close to Bandos Chestplate and 20M±?!
- You forgot signature...And new item prices are usually high.Don't you remember Bandos Chestplate? It was 20-30m also.Powers38 06:09, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
You're point? Dragon Chains are also extremely similar to the Rune Platebody, their just so valuable because of their rarity. These things have been wanted since the KQ was released, so of course it's going to be freakishly expensive until the hype dies down a bit. --Kewldude155 00:44, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
And whats your point? The Dragon plate is a chainbody with sleeves and more spikes on the shoulders. Its an epic failure Jagex slacked bigtime on this one 99.140.241.136 10:09, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Xalyx
[edit] Guthix Sleeps
Do you need to complete that quest to wear the D-Plate or not? >< SilverStrike
152.26.20.29 17:50, 1 December 2008 (UTC) no you do not need to complete the quest to wear the dragon platebody you only need 60 deffence and alot of money to buy one.
[edit] Assist?
Can you use the Assist system to create the Dragon Platebody at the Dragon forge? --The Tribal Noob/The Logical Ranter 12:31, 28 November 2008 (UTC)12:31, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
No. V_v SilverStrike
Yes you can, as of 4 pm GMT on November 28th, this is stated on the "This week's updates - FAQ" on the official forums, also it states that soon the smith level will be lowered to 92.Dark shark31 03:06, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
"Can we use the Assist System when making the Dragon Platebody?"
As of 4pm GMT today (28-Nov-2008), you can now use the Assist System to aid you in making the Dragon Platebody.
In addition, next week, we will be reducing the Smithing requirement to 92. You will also be able to boost your Smithing stat with a tasty spicy stew." Chrislee33 23:10, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes its really sad that they did this "Lets make the requirments even less" people got mad that they trained smithing to 99 for the quest and then a few days later its lowered and you dont even need to train smithing because now assist can be used. But I guess it doesnt matter because the stats on the plate are a failure 99.140.241.136 10:12, 10 December 2008 (UTC)Xalyx
[edit] Leaked model?
I was just wondering, does anybody know where the leaked model (comparing with the Clan Wars banner) came from? It's been puzzling me for quite a while.

[edit] its cheap now!?!
Mr.Bando 13:33, 11 December 2008 (UTC) Wow the price of the dragonplate body has droped alot, i can even afford one now. ARe they selling in the G. E. good? COuld someone tell me if there selling or people just dont want them?
Obviously, the supply of platebodies has dramatically increased over the past couple of weeks due to the significant amount of profit obtained by smithing them. Demand has therefore decreased, leading to a lowering of value in the dragon platebodies. Simple economics, buddy. Bf2142pwner 15:35, 11 December 2008 (UTC), at your service.
And eventually it will rise. My guess is to 15m

[edit] skill level!!
oh my god! jagex rly failed in this part because the rune platebody can be crafted at lvl 99 and dragon platebody at lvl 92?!?!?!omg! big fail!!!
- -10 points for the insane use of exclamation marks. Anyway, with a rune platebody, players have to smith it themselves. The dragon platebodies were already made, but they were broken into 3 fragments. It takes less effort/skill to repair something than it does to make a brand-new object. WWTDD? 15:07, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
Due to the update on the requirement though, smithing is yet again a non-profit, semi-useless skill (nothing like it once was.) At 99 smithing and no assist mode, I actually had regained motivation to train smithing after almost two years without even visiting a furnace or anvil. This lowered requirement probably also led to a faster decline in price, as it was then a much more common item since there was no bottlenecking of the plate by the smiths in order to control its price like there was in classic with rune items. Just some thoughts on the subject, enjoy/flame/whatever you want to, but don't expect a reply if you say something back at me unless it's related to the conversation.--Bartuccio3 03:30, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Do you need to start the quest to wear the body?

[edit] platebody wallpaper
that's not a plate body its just a dragon chain you can even see the rings on it. its no different than the arch in the same picture having an actual quiver its just a slight artistic interpretation of the pauldrons. so can someone remove image because i don't know how. 68.231.165.161 19:32, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Droping shows new look??
i read someone saying in game that if the plate is dropped you get the new look of the plate while it is laying on the ground... if this is so then maybe we should have a pic of this Only The Elite - RuneElite

It's probably just some internet trolls trying to get kids to cry over losing 10m+ worth of pixels. That's even more pathetic than the rants about the PC nerf, which only really happened because of players' complaints of low levels leeching/leveling too fast. I'd say that you should take the same approach with this as you should have with the "drop your items and press (ctrl+w/alt+f4) to dupe them!" scam.--Bartuccio3 03:33, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Drop
I'm sure it's impossible to receive the entire platebody as a drop, but can someone please confirm this? --Mister Craftsman! 17:19, 20 August 2009 (UTC)- It is 100% impossible.

[edit] Opinions on History
Well, what the History said (when i wrote this) that the Player on the bridge looksl ike he's in either Dragon Chainbody OR Dragon Platebody. But closer examination (I took a closer look) reveals the Multiple spikes on the shoulder (which D Chains only have one) and the Brown belt, which was there before the Dragon Plate Update, which is obviously before the Dragon Plate Release. So the one shown in the picture was the one before the update, which means it IS a Dragon Platebody that player is wearing. - KingBlackChicken
