QuestEdit

I remember my friend mentioning to me that in order to wield a Dragon hatchet, you will need to have finished a particular members quest. If that is true, can you please tell me what quest it is via my userpage. Thanx. Emosworld 07:39, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Hello, is anyone there? Dragon chainbodyEmosworldSysopcrown22:49, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Unlike other Dragon equipment there are NO current quest requirements to wield a Dragon axe. The only requirement is 60 Woodcutting (it used to be 40...). Chaoticar 01:18, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
I believe it was raised to 60 at the same time its efficiency was raised to be above that of the rune hatchet. Oh, and the dragon spear also has no quest requirements. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 08:17, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Niether does the Dragon 2h :p 71.141.243.154 01:23, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
it's 61 woodcutting not 60

actually thats wrong. You can wield the dragon hatchet once you have 60 attack. You just need 61 woodcutting to cut trees with it

Actually, you're wrong. He clearly said "it used to be 40," implying that he was talking about using the hatchet, not wielding it. -Tyro

Eh?Edit

"At level 90 woodcutting it is recommended that you sell your Dragon axe as a Rune axe would be a fine alternative." Why? Just because you're so good you don't need it? Rich Farmbrough, 13:40 6 May 2007 (GMT).

Yup, it barely makes a difference. Like a 5% difference or less. Personally, I'm using it until 99 because it looks cool. :P
5% is actually quite a lot. Rollbackcrownearth(t) (well considering 5% of 28 is 1.4 it really isn't much better that is 1 and 1/4ths log to finish with)
I would like to think of 5% from the perspective of time rather than logs. For every hour you cut wood you would save 3 minutes using a dragon hatchet over a rune hatchet. This may not sound like a lot but when you are going for 99 wc you will be spending many, many hours woodcutting and those 3 minutes will add up. 100 hours spent woodcutting and you just saved 300 minutes of time.

Speed Edit

The Dragon Axe is NOT "15-20%" better than rune. I don't want to get into any edit wars, but I will change it back, as the comparison is VERY misleading. --Themurasame Hiscores 08:14, 26 June 2007 (UTC) The dragon axe is 5% faster than rune axe, even jagex's database confirmed it.

Why sell it? Edit

"Yup, it barely makes a difference. Like a 5% difference or less."

Say you're lvl 99 wc, you have a dragon axe in our possession, which you have used from the moment you were lvl 61 wc. Surely it would be foolish to sell the axe and replace it with a rune one if you can still cut logs faster. Doesn't matter if it's only 5%, in a log cutting race it could make all the difference to get that last log you're battling for. What I'm trying to say is, if it is better and faster, keep it! Plus, it really does look cool, especially with full dragon which includes a Dragon Full Helm =P =P --Arpaleggia 19:10, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Price falling Edit

Can anyone give any info on why this is happening so drastically? In the last 5 days price has fallen every day as follows 2504027, 2492329, 2482357, 2475162, 2459584. Did a couple thousand axes suddenly get found? This is pretty sharp changes for an item like this.

Yeh. It is pretty random. Please remember to sign your posts, Cheers, KandarinSmall.png Chicken7 >talk 05:25, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Umm, my point is that it is not random, it's going down 6-12k a day after being much higher for so long. And signing post would kill the idea of being anonymous.Cheers.
I don't think it's really a big deal. By my calculations they price has dropped less than 2% over 4 days. Heck, in my area gas goes up by 5% overnight and no-one thinks twice about it. --Amulet of natureMakemesmileMud battlestaff 06:28, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I bet that people in your area and everywhere think more than twice when gas goes up .15 a day. As for the axe, I wonder if the market got a little flooded with all the kiddies out of school for winter recess selling thier stuff.--Degenret01 10:47, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
"And signing post would kill the idea of being anonymous."
You do realize that you're still listed in the edit history, right? Zeldafanjtl 17:26, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Best Axe? Edit

Is this still the best since the Inferno Adze came out? 82.122.174.181 13:45, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

well in my opion i think it is the best since the inferno come out even though people choose it more often i choose it becasue it keeps the logs you want for example u are cutting yew trees and u need the money fast right? u dont want the inferno one to through away your logs (it can burn them) so i suggested dragin hatchet and it is the best one there is in my opion `godfatherrs`. This ax does happen to be the best in the game. But for theplayers who do not have the skill to hav that axe then t is est to use the dragon axe. if not dragon than rune. the dragon axe is only 5% better. If you need any other information about the game than just add m on ruescape. My user name is Roxes15

inferno adze Edit

the inferno adze is the same as a dragon axe.its just tht the inferno adze has specical abilites

But the inferno adze burns the logs occasionally which trains firemaking. so it lowers the profit of cash. but yeah it is good cuz u can use it for a pickaxe, though has high requirments.....:(--Dragon chainbodyExample Dragon platebody 17:33, November 26, 2009 (UTC)\

in my opion i hate the inferno hatchet! it can burn your logs for no reason whole traning fm so what what if u just need money? comment on this if u agree with me.

Speed confirmation Edit

As quoted in the article, mods have said it is 5-10% better than rune. So why does the article also say 15%? Dsctatom 00:56, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Lending Edit

Where is the best place or world to lend the dragon axe? -White partyhat Chasingu Guthix logo 03:39, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

Im looking to borrow one :S(add sientroth or FrostdDragon on runescape)

Special - Evil tree? Edit

Note: Just in case you were wondering, Clobber is the dragon hatchet's special attack.

This quote was under the 'Special Attack' section:

"Clobber will not work while fighting evil trees."

Clobber is the spec, as in combat. Evil trees are a distraction and diversion...using woodcutting. You don't use Clobber on evil trees. I deleted this sentence, because it doesn't make sense. If you see sense in putting it back, and have a valid reason, go ahead, but please make it clearer to the reader what you're talking about. On Back and in HandEdit

"There [is] actually a glitch currently after the EoC update that when you are wielding a hatchet, and you attempt to cut down a tree, there is a hatchet both on your back and in your hand. This makes it look as if you have two hatchets. This is not actually a glitch, if you right click the top right corner of the action bar and sellect toggle sheath the sheath goes away. This occurs with all weapons."

- but that's not even true, I personally only experience this with hatchets while cutting wood. I fight enough with my characters in variation and I should've been able to spot this "glitch but not a glitch because it isn't and happens 'with all weapons'". This doesn't make a lot of sense, sure, don't call it a glitch then, call it a bug, this is what I see occurs strictly to hatchets while cutting wood. My personal experience doesn't cover hundred of thousands of players, and I think this really calls for either better wording or get removed completely.
