If the egg is so rare, how is it known that 99 summoning is required to get it to appear?

I dispute that it's 99 Summoning required to get the egg as a drop. Can someone quote Jagex as a source on this or anything? Planeshifted 19:24, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Jagex does not state that 99 Summoning is required for the drop, however, you must have 99 Summoning to have a dragon as a pet. This makes it highly probable that the egg can only be dropped when you have 99 Summoning. It is extremely rare, obviously, and so even if 99 Summoning wasn't required to get it, the untradeable egg would have no use to a person without 99 Summoning. I think 99 Summoning IS required to get the drop, but that's just my opinion, I don't have any facts. One thing that I wanted to mention is that you CAN get vulture egg drops while you don't have the level to raise one, right? Hippodo 16:16, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

While this is certainly not conclusive, I have been looking at RS forums and many people there swear the egg only comes after 99 summoning. To support this, not a single person without 99 summoning claims to have gotten an egg yet. I'm actually surprised at that, as I would have expected at least a few false claims (false because it would be some one with no ranked skills so you know he aint fighting dragons). And yes, I do know this is the opposite of all the other eggs and items one can obtain before they reach the level needed to use it.--Degenret01 02:17, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of image?Edit

drop rate Edit

For anyone who cares about drop rates I got mine after this many kills:

I just went for my first dragon egg and recieved it after 5 red dragon kills. I have also talked to some friends of mine who have recieved eggs, all of whom said that that they recieved it rather quickly. So, either we have all had very good luck, or the drop is not "extremely rare" as indicated by the main page. I would propose changing it to common with the stipulation that you must be 99 summoning to be able to recieve the drop. 99.52.184.82 22:15, January 5, 2011 (UTC)

I recently went to collect all 4 eggs. It took between 200 and 600 kills per color of dragon to get them as drops. Note that ring of wealth was used. April 30, 2011

I have recently been attempting to get the eggs, been 99 summoning for a while but haven't cared too until recently. I have killed damn near 1,000 red dragons, 800 and something to be more precise, some without a ring of wealth, and some with my usual onyx (i) ring, yet I have yet to see an egg. Should I kill them in the wilderness, should I try a different dragon, is my luck just plain terrible, because something doesn't seem right, right? Is this part neccessary? Or how is this supposed to help me? Theres many rumors out there, starting with sheep shearing skill and ending with necromancy. Shouldn't here be written only known facts?

Player Name Edit

I'm new here, so I don't know much about the Wiki, but isn't it common practise to blur out a player name unless their mention is specific? For example, one would leave the name when discussing the first player to solo TzTokk-Jad in 6 seconds, but would blur it out when showing a mod's quote. Hatch time Edit

The time of 15 hours is incorrect. I do not know the minimum time absolute, but I have had one in less than three hours, a couple others in under eight. I wasn't checking often so I do not know how long they were ready, but those times are well under 15 hours.--Degenret01 11:05, December 31, 2010 (UTC)

I got green dragon egg after i killed about 25 green dragons in wildy at lava maze.

I might be lucky but i was using ring of wealth.
