Bonus XP Weekend 2011?

Have Jagex confirmed the next one? Do we know when it will be? User:Swizzl3d/Sig 13:56, January 3, 2011 (UTC)

If i used Hati Gloves + Sacred Clay Helm + Double XP W/E. How much Xp would there be per hit? Gazah 19:37, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

Bonus items like that are turned off for this event. Dtm142 19:44, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

1.1x multiplier

1.1x multiplier means 10% more exp right?
Zamorak's Book of ChaosEsimene Zamorak's Book of Chaos 13:15, March 10, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, that is right. So for example you do something that usually gives 100xp, when the multiplier is 1.1x you will get 110xp in total. Leave me a message :) Annarelda Hiscores 03:02, March 12, 2011 (UTC)

Bonus Experience Weekend Late 2011/ Early 2012

As of August 3rd 2011, is there going to be another bonus xp weekend in 2011 or early 2012?

Not sure. Based on the last 3 events that have been six months between, one could guess one is due sometime in September. However previously bonus xp weekends have been announced approximately a month in advance haven't they, so that would mean time is then running out for a September BXP to be announced? Anyone else have any ideas? 118.139.32.148 04:39, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

(Following from above) So I then read on the RS forums, BXP weekends have been getting announced ~2 weeks in advance or a little less, so there's actually still a bit of time left for an announcement of an early september BXP weekend. Some people are even quite sure that there will be an announcement between now and this friday, but I don't know. 121.214.101.142 08:59, August 23, 2011 (UTC)

The "Gielinor Globe" forum announced it the other day. I would provide a link, but the RS site is hard to connect to today. {EDIT: The link is on the Wiki's front page!} It says the weekend of Sep. 9, so that means 2 weeks from now. That's the weekend after Labor day weekend here in the U.S. -- PIKWIT 22:12, August 26, 2011 (UTC)

Summoning and Herblore

Added the results from the Watches on the forums concerning Summoning.

N.B. The results concerned solely those who had reached 99 Summoning during the time the experience boost was active. All those reaching 98 Summoning and under were excluded. I have forgotten the exact number unfortunately, but the ratio was clear: 1/5. Confirmation of the rarity rank loss would be appreciated. Herblore was the second most popular after Summoning, but I remember no numbers from that one.

March 2012?

To date, Jagex has scheduled the following Bonus XP Weekends, with each one being six months after the previous: March 2010, September 2010, March 2011, September 2011... So the next one will come March 2012?

Theoretically. User:Urbancowgurl777/Signature 15:24, February 18, 2012 (UTC)
Mod SteveW posted in a Q&A Dated Friday Feb 17th that: "I can confirm that if there was going to be a bonus experience weekend, it would be during a month with 28 days."
When refer a friend came out it stated you would have at least 1 weeks notice in advance so as not to waste your refer a friend bonus.
There is only one weekend left in February and it would apply if you counted Mod SteveW's comments as the "warning", however this year February has 29 days, not 28.
He could also have been referring to the posting of info and not the actual info, but again, the month does have 29 days this year.
Every month has 28 days in it.  Tien  17:21, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

Clan ring

Does anyone know if Clan Ring will still give XP. If so, will it be bonused, or just give normal xp?  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.25.17.248 (talk).

The bonus weekend will override everything that normally gives bonus xp, including clan rings. Small recharge gem AnselaJonla Slayer-icon 17:30, March 15, 2012 (UTC)

How will urns work?

The exp muliplier curve is VERY VERY WRONG! it's not a curve, but a gradual staircase! i'll fix this shortly

October 2012 BXPW: Summoning and XP rate

According to this screenshot of a post made by Mod Emilee, the x2 bonus will apply to Summoning, and the x2 bonus will be constant all weekend. I don't have the inclination to search the forums for the actual post, so I figured I'd add a comment here. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 01:36, October 17, 2012 (UTC)

Mad May Necklace

Does anyone know whether the Mad May necklace will stack on the October 2012 BXPW? Also, would this give a bonus of 3x for a dungeon or 4x? (4x would be sha-weet)

Conversely, I'd hate to use the last of the charge on a dungeon floor, only to find out it didn't give any bonus XP...

Oct. 27-29 Bxp weekend

for smithing, anyone have any idea on what wont work. i already know that the goldsmithing gloves wont work. but what about artisan's workshop? the armour there. could you get double xp with that?

67.197.198.58 23:58, October 25, 2012 (UTC)SSDragon19

As Artisan's workshop doesn't actually provide bonus xp normally, it's not one of the unaffected items Template:Signatures/Ciphrius Kane 00:04, October 26, 2012 (UTC)
so wait, so would i get bonus xp? just a yes or a no.

Countdown

"When is the Bonus XP Weekend?

The Bonus XP Weekend will run from noon (BST) Saturday 27th October..."

Stop changing it back to UTC. Quest point cape detail la mère de Bobby Quest point cape detail 08:50, October 27, 2012 (UTC)

That's cause Jagex runs on UTC, as do we Template:Signatures/Ciphrius Kane 08:52, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
"The local time changes in the UK during this weekend when we move from British Summer Time to GMT. The time in the UK goes back by one hour on Sunday and aligns with GMT. So ... the event starts in BST (as it starts on Saturday) and ends in GMT (as it ends on Monday)." Quest point cape detail la mère de Bobby Quest point cape detail 08:53, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
No it does not, it starts in UTC, and ends in UTC. If you don't know UTC is equivalent to GMT Template:Signatures/Ciphrius Kane 08:54, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
Update:Scary_Bonus_XP_Weekend:_the_Details!, 17 October 2012:
When can I earn bonus XP?
Between noon, Saturday 27th October and noon, Monday 29th October (GMT).
Update:Hallowe'en_Treat:_Scary_Bonus_XP_Weekend!, 10 October 2012:
Grab your gear, examine your skill levels and start scheming – the weekend will run from noon (GMT) Saturday 27th October to noon (GMT) Monday 29th October.
GMT is essentially UTC, as both are reference time zones which the others move towards and away from. GMT/UTC never moves.  a proofreader ▸  08:55, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
Yes at both of those, but the FAQ on the forums says what I said above. Quest point cape detail la mère de Bobby Quest point cape detail 08:59, October 27, 2012 (UTC)
Aha. In that case, Jagex is at it again with their timezone confusion and their thinking GMT adjusts with British time. And sorry about that.  a proofreader ▸  09:02, October 27, 2012 (UTC)

To clarify for the sake of posterity: It turns out the event did start at noon UTC; the FAQ was mistaken, as was a news post at 11am UTC indicating that it had started (which they hid rather than clarifying, in typical Jagex fashion...). Stewbasic (talk) 02:31, October 28, 2012 (UTC)

October 2012 - Mad Necklace

Can anyone confirm whether or not the bonus xp from this event stacks with the Mad Necklace, and then add it to the page? FearTheMedia (talk) 23:21, October 27, 2012 (UTC)

Mad Necklace

Mad necklace is working with Bonus Xp weekend but doesn't double i'm currently getting 998xp each ivy i chop.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 14.200.83.7 (talk).

So maybe what you mean is that it isn't working? Wink  a proofreader ▸  06:04, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
No, it does stack, but it only gives an overall bonus of 3x. Haidro (talk) 06:41, October 29, 2012 (UTC)

Bonus Multiplier Function

This article indicates that the bonus multiplier during Bonus XP weekend is a function of time ("The amount of bonus experience decreases over a period of 10 hours, down to just 1.1") for skills other than Summoning ("the [Summoning] multiplier has become a constant 1.1x"). Is this time the amount of time since the event started, or does the amount vary for each player depending on when they log in? --Wafflebb (talk) 20:15, March 6, 2014 (UTC)

During the events when this mechanic was active, it depended on the amount of time each player had been logged in.
Say Elfinlocks logged in at 12:00 on the first day of the event and stayed on until the 6hr kick at 18:00. Her bonus would have decreased accordingly. But Cowkiller doesn't log on until 16:00 that same day, so when she's kicked out, his bonus is where Elfinlocks' was at 14:00. Does that make sense? Small recharge gem AnselaJonla Slayer-icon 20:20, March 6, 2014 (UTC)
Indeed. That is as I suspected, but there was nothing in the article suggesting that. Perhaps I should clarify that in the article. --Wafflebb (talk) 20:58, March 6, 2014 (UTC)

Why didn't 2013 have one?

Why didn't 2013 have an event like this? All the years had 2 each year but 2013 had none. Why? Puretppc (talk) 16:48, November 3, 2014 (UTC)

They stated once upon a time they would not be doing any more bonus or double experience weekends, and then did another one. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 17:26, November 3, 2014 (UTC)

UH OH!

It seems the counter is counting backwards. It's actually quite amusing.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.135.25.138 (talk) on 16:27, February 20, 2015 (UTC).

That is actually correct; the time until the end of the double XP weekend is after all drawing closer. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 16:36, February 20, 2015 (UTC)

Demonic skull?

Does demonic skull work with DXPW? Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) 19:55, September 21, 2016 (UTC)

In previous weekends, the demonic skull gave no bonuses whatsoever during dxp weekend. However, it is uncertain if that is still the case after the wilderness update, and I haven't seen any jmod speak on it yet. Moontempt (talk) 13:19, September 22, 2016 (UTC)

Calculator not stacking bonuses correctly, here's how it stacks correctly with some bonuses

I'm dealing with a portable skill station, full bonus outfit, pulse core, and valentine's slam. This calculator overestimated my XP gain even without the valentine's slam there. So I tested a bit and found these:

Portable skill station increases base XP. Double XP, outfit, and pulse core stack additively. If there's a Valentine's Slam, it's stacked with pulse core multiplicatively.

Here's an example: Fletching broad arrows

Straight from the XP interface, 6% outfit, 10% portable, 10% pulse core, 2% valentine's slam gained 539.9 XP, 292.4 is bonus XP, leaving 247.5 as base XP.

Portable increases 225 base XP to 247.5 base XP

base + double XP + pulse core and slam + outfit

247.5 + 247.5 + 247.5*(1.1*1.02-1) + 247.5*0.06

= 247.5 + 247.5 + 30.195 + 14.85 (rounded down to 1 decimal place)

= 247.5 + 247.5 + 30.1 + 14.8

= 539.9

Wrong calc

"Something is wrong in the calculation. I'm doing slayer dummies, which gave base 6,162xp, but I get 21,345xp with: ava near, dxpw, bonus xp and 10% pulse. This is a 346%, but the calculation says I would have a 326% bonus, which corresponds with 20,088.12xp.

Also maybe add an option when you have your own pulse core active. For the following situation, I get 28,936xp: ava near, dxpw, bonus xp and own pulse core. " from the article. Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) 23:19, February 17, 2017 (UTC)

Training Methods that already give bonus experience

For all of the training methods that already supply bonus experience (Goldsmithing gauntlets, POH altars, Ectofunctus, etc), it should be noted that no bonus experience is used and experience boosting items or other bonuses do not work. I am not sure if this affects everything on this list, but it is true for POH altars. I am unsure how this should be formatted in a nice and presentable way.

calc's broken

The calc is completely broken, please fix it. Thank you. --207.172.184.157 23:06, April 25, 2017 (UTC)
