According to Mod Nancy in the page 11 of the forum thread sticky about it in future updates forum, King's Ransom, as of now, is planned to be a requirement to do the Court Cases D&D. Proof about it is here. Bruxacosmica Talk-Highs 18:43, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
Kings ransom is needed because it introduces the courthouseQazwiz 12:35, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
How do we know its going to be called "Court Cases"? Court Cases is the title of the blog, not the D&D itself. Mod Nancy never explicitly mentioned the title of the new D&D... aztalk 06:03, November 6, 2009 (UTC)
We're not sure, but we can rename the page after we know the real name --Zorak plorak 07:27, November 6, 2009 (UTC)
Court Cases is officially the name given to the D/D, as evidenced by the news post on the day of release and the guide entry on it. --Jimfromtx 03:35, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
How can you, say that a person finished the first case... I believe I finished the case before anyone... You cannot tell who finished the first case. Also, who cares? Create Pure5 10:13, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
It's just vandalism. Lil cloud 9Talk 10:38, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, like those that posted simply "First page!" or "First post!" on the forum topic itself. --Jimfromtx 20:48, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
Well i wonder how rare the court summons are. Anyone got one already?
I pickpocketed now 10k loot from knights in ardnougne and nothing. Maybe we could make a list of what activite seems to have the highest chance of getting such a court summon
When it comes to pickpocketing ardy knights, great at 99 thieving since ardy cloak 3 with gloves of silence give you 100% success rate, I'd say they are uncommon/semi-rare or something. I got all 4 summons. They took me around 11k 6k 13k and 3k coins loot. This is about 1 in 165 chance. Lathow 17:08, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
Just because some people have finished doesn't mean they are necessarily easy... Remember the people who got 2 draconic visages from their first few black dragon kills, or were done with champions' challenges on the day of release... I myself have spent the afternoon stealing from paladins and knights of Ardougne to no avail, and am now spending the evening killing off lessers - Nothing so far. Magma2050TCE 18:06, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
Addendum: I gave up on lessers and decided to mass-kill Hill Giants for a few hours and got all the summons available for now (one by one, doing the court cases between drops). Magma2050TCE 19:15, June 12, 2010 (UTC)
FWIW I've gotten 3 of these things now (so 1 to go yet) from pickpocketing a Knight of Ardougne. Each time I've gotten one after I'd failed enough that he had beaten me down to less than 90 life points remaining. My Thieving level is 67, and the only gear I'm wearing is the Ardougne Cloak 2. I don't know if getting beaten to within an inch of death increases your chances, but it's been pretty consistent for me so far. At my failure rate and Constitution, it takes me maybe 10 minutes to get below 90 life points remaining, then - bingo! - I get a scroll. YMMV --Saftzie 08:56, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
Caskets are a GREAT way to get these- just buy them off the GE. I'm considering adding that to the page. Thoughts?LordAlchemist 01:27, July 31, 2010 (UTC)
Is it possible do do the same court case multiple times?Edit
As of right now, No. --Aquadraik 20:46, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
If a case does not go in your favor, can you try again without a summons, or do you have to get the summons again? --Jimfromtx 20:49, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
If you fail at a case. The jury will award you an Undecided verdict. The Judge will then proceed to explain that you need to make your case more clear and such. You will then be ported to the courtroom, with your case files and you can reenter and try again :). --Aquadraik 21:21, June 9, 2010 (UTC)
River Troll vs. The People (Prosecute) does not workEdit
I did every single thing it said to do, but it did not work. I tried again, but, again, it did not work. What's the right way to do it? LassKazeaze 00:23, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
Umm... Nevermind. I made an error in the Court. Sorry... It is right. I'm very sorry. :'( LassKazeaze 00:51, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
Would it be better if the Court cases section is hidden with a spoiler warning?Sfza x99 12:05, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
I agree... the template for spoiler covers is {{C|"spoiled text"}} resulting with "spoiled text" then the user that wants a hint will be able to select the walk-through text one at a time when they need help without seeing all of it all at once

an off time update occured about 11:30am BST today i imediatly noticed that Firefox is no longer prevented from hiding the tab and navigational bars when in F11 fullscreen mode (allows tab navigation as long as runescape isn't in java fullscreen at the same time) this had been how it acted until either the pengy update or the Court case release in the last 24 hours
thus i thought it was just a technical update
BUT, I now am trying to start Court Cases and the clark wont givce me the time of day, claiming the court is closed today
DID JAGEX MAKE AN UNANNOUNCED CHANGE/FIX TO Court Cases????
Just thought it might be worth starting a section where we can list and discuss creature types that do and do not drop scrolls without getting the article too messy. I know they said "Giants" drop, I can confirm that specifically Hill Giants do. Magma2050TCE 20:43, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
This mentions humble pie as one of the rewards for completing Court Cases: As well as XP, some cases may reward you with a little something extra: expect to eat humble pie, try on some new wigs, and receive other such useful items. However, I have done all five cases and there is no sign of humble pie as a reward. What's going on? 173.24.223.159 00:27, June 11, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe they just forgot about it?--Agamemnus 05:28, June 12, 2010 (UTC)
No they did not, you have to do the Miss Schism court case to obtain it. Bicko Blicko 17:39, September 1, 2010 (UTC)
Just wondering if A) the first set of cases are done before the latest ones to be released, or if they're mixed up so you can get any of the total 16 at a time.
B) If the above isn't true, if the fortnightly limit is now set for the first five too.
Turns out that when the articles were split, some people started using Heading 2 at the top of the sub-articles, followed by Heading 3 and so on.
Trouble is the main article was already showing those subpages as Heading 3 and was expecting Heading 4 and higher only. REALLY messed up the contents at the top.
I've streamlined all the articles as follows:
Only 3 headings appear after each case in the following specific order, each set at the next header in the heirarchy (Header 4):
Crime Scene (If applicable)
Prosecution
Defence
The Defence Case Note and Defence reward pictures have been moved into each article's defence section. Same for prosecution. After all, each set of defence notes have a shield on, prosecution notes have a sword, and the rewards specifically note what xp type you just earned. They belong in the separate sections. Lists of people to talk to appear in the first line of each defence/prosecution section rather than their own section. All trivia appears in the trivia section of the main article, not the subpages.
This has de-cluttered the index a great deal and makes it much easier to follow.
I've been doing the court cases since their release and hope to finish them all. However, as I was attempting to do the Miss Schism case, the guide was insufficient and I couldn't figure out how to win, so I spoke to the clerk and dismissed it so I could run off and get another summons. I was assuming I'd be able to get the Miss Schism summons again eventually, but this article suggests not... can anyone confirm or deny that once you cancel a case, it is lost forever? Doesn't seem fair to me, I'd be very upset if I'll now never be able to complete them for the full reward. AhiaorinaTalk 08:06, April 5, 2011 (UTC)
I've accidentally dismissed a court case once (and was extremely annoyed at myself), and got it back some time later. So no, it's not lost forever. Annarelda 02:32, September 23, 2011 (UTC)
The 3rd trivia stating about typo is fixed ages ago, yet it's not updated to trivia that there used to be typo, rather than there is. And also do note that the experience there stated is 'from 2,000xp to 20,000xp' now on.
If you read the first paragraph of the Court Cases page, it explains why this can happen. The first one you did was from batch 2, the second was from batch 1. You may attempt a case from batch 1 at any time, but you may only attempt a case from batch 2 a couple of weeks after completing any case from batch 1 or 2.
How Can You Check What Court Cases You Have Completed? Edit
Title says it all. I have completed numerous court cases but I cant remember which ones and how many I have to go? Does anyone know how to check this? Talking to the guards in the court building and the clerk doesnt give me the answer and I cant seem to see any posters on the wall to observe. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.191.56.23 (talk) on 16:07, November 18, 2011.
Not sure but i think you can do the same court case ocer Edit
I complete batch 1 cases along long time ago and been working on batch 2. I was killing hill giants for a champion scroll and i got the drunken dwarf one. I know for a fact i have completed this case before. Something must of changed or something might of been reset.
