Level Advancement Tables[]

I know it really doesn't matter, but the first 2 tables' advice for levels 10-30 involve food that you can't start cooking until level 15. Was going to change the first section to 1-15, but I'm sure others may know better methods for the low levels.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.26.98.224 (talk) on 01:51, November 30, 2011.

Clean-Up Required[]

This article is in need of some re-coding and checking do to the fact that errors are occuring when the system tries to calcuclate prices and everything like that. I would do it myself, but I'm not that computer smart. Thanks! Royboo 00:04, July 3, 2010 (UTC)

remove f2p cooking spots?[]

This is a p2p cooking guide and unless a certain f2p spot has a advantage over another, it shouldn't be included in this guide since the title assumes the person reading this is a member.--69.104.165.95 16:50, September 20, 2009 (UTC)

Alternative way to train cooking without paying?[]

Being able to build an Oak Larder with a range in your house allows you to just bring a cake tin, collect ingredients from the larder and cook them, you can just drop the cakes and you can stay there until you get your desired cooking level. This should be worth mentioning as this can be done with a decent construction level and only 40 cooking.--Moneypony 04:27, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

Cooking with cooking gauntlets[]

It says that its 214b profit to get 99 cooking with gaunties, can anyone fix this?

Yea, you shouldn't get profit at all, because raw rocktail is more expensive than cooked rocktail. -- 16:07, March 20, 2010 (UTC)
It was just some ip vandalizing Exchange:Rocktail page, fixed. -- 16:09, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

JEEZ, WHAT A TERRIBLE GUIDE, FOR ONE OF THE BEST RS GUIDE SITES. WHERE IS WINE, WHERE IS PIE MAKE?

WHERE IS IT WRITTEN ABOUT THE ROGUES GUILD COOKING DEN FIRE BEING BY FAR THE BEST PLACE TO COOK? BY FAR.

WHERE IS IT WRITTEN HOW TO LURE THE BANKER, AND THAT YOU HAVE TO LEFT CLICK HIM LIKE 1NCE EVERY 10 MINS TO STOP HIM FROM MOVING, AND THAT YOU SHOULD LURE HIM TO 1 SPOT FROM THE BANK?

DISSAPOINTED

This is a wiki which anyone can improve. If you see something wrong, please be bold and improve it :) Ajraddatz Talk 23:53, March 27, 2010 (UTC)

Number needed until next step[]

It says u need to cook 26,610 sharks to get 99, but that's not true. It is impossible not to burn any shark, which means u need more sharks to get 99.

Big Problem with the tables[]

There seems to be a big problem with some of the data in the tables. I have no idea how to fix it, and I'm hoping someone will read this and fix it, or show it to someone who can. TyA 00:45, May 8, 2010 (UTC)

Cooking Urns[]

Since it's much faster to train with cooking urns, should we readjust the xp rates per hour accordingly? Flajuram 21:14, February 18, 2011 (UTC)

Cleanup[]

The prices are outdated, with recent changes in the market for the speculated double xp weekend this needs to be updated often to not confuse players...  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Godgivenfate (talk) on 09:42, August 1, 2011.

If I get the time in the next few weeks I'll try to add some kind of a dynamic table. At the moment sharks are cheaper than monkfish from level 83-84 and even profitable at 85 (Burned fish loss included). Zaros symbol De Lutsi  - 13:29, September 4, 2011 (UTC)

Outdated Images[]

In the "Best Locations" area for P2P, there's an image of the old TzHaar area. Virtually the entire layout of that place was changed drastically, so could someone update or remove that section? I'm not particularly skilled at coding. 66.229.98.54 04:05, March 14, 2012 (UTC)

amount monkfish[]

the amount of monkfish needed to get 92 cooking is wrong, it says you need about 16k, but it is more like 22k. 91.182.6.7 14:59, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

Then why not just edit the page yourself and change it? 202.47.122.58 15:42, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

Untitled[]

Now with bonfires, you should put that on w100, in shantay pass, is a very good spot as there are nonstop skillers there doing firemaking. Nifty.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 208.124.32.3 (talk) on 19:02, June 26, 2012.

Verbatim quote pulled from article[]

"Needs Updating**
Monkfish were averaging over a 7% burn rate at 84 cooking, but gives less than a 7% xp increase over Swordfish (which don't burn at 84). There is also less than a 7% (roughly 3%) profit margin between cooked/uncooked monkfish. This means that Swordfish are better XP at lvl84 (lower xp rate is made up for by not burning any), and you make a profit as "currently" Swordfish sell for more than raw swordfish (whereas you lose money on monkfish due to all the burning). Items used are cooking gauntlets, dwarven army axe (+3xp per cooked item), and bonfire (10% xp boost)." (Thought this was better left in discussion rather than the body of the article - perhaps a little header could be made claiming the article is disputed). POH training method[]

Hello. I was reading this page as I'm planning on leveling up my cooking a bit, and I read about the POH training method that recommends you to teleport to your house, grab a Chef's delight from a barrel in your house, cook food, tele Edgy and so on... but then I read on this page that you can't take the beer outside of your house? I haven't tried it myself, but if it indeed is not possible, then I think that section should be removed from the cooking training guide.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 109.130.228.174 (talk) on 23:28, September 25, 2013‎.

Well, if things are indeed being done in the order that you say they are, then it's entirely possible, as you're never taking the Chef's delight outside of your house. --Jamamon (talk) 23:39, September 25, 2013 (UTC)

Portable Range[]

I'm wondering if we should include the portable range at the Range section as it's a very good way of training cooking, it gives 21% xp and a 5% chance to double the food. Although, obviously, it's hard to obtain without buying it since it's on TH and the street price is around 65k per range. --JorisCeoen 21:53, May 26, 2014 (UTC)

Yup it should be included. And you can now get them shared at "Portables FC" friends chat which runs almost 24/7.

Best xp (AND PROFIT) at lvl 67+[]

At level 67 cooking, combining a bowl of tuna (580gp) and cooked sweetcorn (48gp) gives 202xp and gives Tuna and Corn (1100gp) for over 80% profit. It also takes half the amount of game ticks to complete the task, as opposed to cooking fish. It can however be hard to buy the tuna/sell the tuna+corn, but if the player is willing to simply break even (700 for bowls, sell for 800 [52gp profit]), it can be an easy way to gain about 4x the xp of cooking tuna (per unit of time)
