[edit] Mage = Combat classes?

I put some redirects for ranger and warrior on the page... but I'm hesitant to put a redirect from mage to combat classes because it seems it already have a redirect to magic... Help me on this... =| The Nifty One, Speckle

magic is an important area of runescape and i believe it should have its own combat classew! the special 1/Runescape

[edit] This isn't about combat classes!

This is a little too much about the combat triangle. But it does have some differences to that article, so it doesnt need too much fixing. 68.192.12.173 (talkcontribs) forgot to sign this comment on 22:33, July 8, 2007.

really i believe the triangle should be fixed buy not at an unbelievable amount 216.164.19.134 (talkcontribs) forgot to sign this comment on 00:23, August 17, 2008.

[edit] What About Clerics!

Why does no one acknowledge the fact perayer can be used as a weapon and defence! Clerics should make it a combat-triangle-with-a person-in-the-middle! Lupy314 (talkcontribs) forgot to sign this comment on 02:04, August 10, 2007.

Clerics do not exist in RuneScape. JaGex specifically stated that there are only three combat classes built into the game.  C Teng talk 22:57, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

There are no attack prayers, you dont pray for Saradomin to smite your enemy, magic does that. There are prayers like retribution and stuff, but they arent really attacks, as such, Clerics really dont exist as a COMBAT class.

[edit] Rough Warrior Level Formula

It says 1/3 Attack + Strength. Does that mean 1/3 Strength is added or all of it? Wafuru (talkcontribs) forgot to sign this comment on 04:54, August 30, 2007.

I dunno, Ive never heard of the formula till I saw this article. Most people agree your warrior depends on what skill you prefer, if you use Attack mostly, then your attack level, same with strength and def... Planetcatter (talkcontribs) forgot to sign this comment on 16:20, September 14, 2008.

I don't know about "most people" agreeing that its the skill you use most... besides, if it was, then it would be much more inaccurate towards combat prowess. For the most accurate formula, see Talk:Combat level#Calculating combat level. There, its listed as 0.325*(attack + strength), compared to 0.325*(magic*1.5) and 0.325*(ranged*1.5).
So to answer the original question, it would be roughly (attack+strength)/3. Quests FTW! Gaz Lloyd Calcs!Awesome 17:42, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Subclasses

I was thinking maybe we could add in a little bit for sub-classes. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, here's an example. A Paladin:essentially a warrior, but with a very high prayer level and armor with excellent defense. Usually prefers a 1-handed weapon and a shield as opposed to the hard-hitting power of two-handed weapons, as this subclass focuses mainly on outlasting an enemy. 156.34.24.204 (talkcontribs) forgot to sign this comment on 22:17, September 22, 2007.

I don't think a "paladin" subclass would be put in, as it is not part of RS's programming. Sold to Azliq. :oChiafriend12Better than rune! 23:07, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

Subclasses arent really official, and are more of a community thing. They do exist, and I am a Mage/Warrior hybrid, which I and my friends like to think of as a "Battle Mage" subclass. --Planetcatter 20:53, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

I like this idea. I have like...thousands of rough ideas for classes in my head and down on paper. I like classes, to me, the more the merrier. Paladin definatley is a good idea, it would be my first choice for a sub class. If this system was introduced, i would stay pure berserker, my favorite class. --Ghan tha 12:02, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Merge

The tag has been around for a while, so I was wondering when it will be merged.  C Teng talk 23:04, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bowman

In the article it states that rangers are commonly called Bowman/Bowmen, I have been playing RuneScape for 5 years and have never heard this term used, much less often. 205.155.5.106 21:13, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stealing Creation

Stealing Creation needs to be included in the list of minigames that use the Combat Triangle
