Attack Style Edit
I can personally attest to the Catablepon's attack style being ranged and not melee as this article previously stated.
- It is in fact melee as the article previously stated. The ranged attack you are probably referring to is it's magic spell which is also listed. 06:20, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
HP, slayer xp Edit
The level 68 ones have 50 hp and give 50 slayer xp. Just killed a bunch of them in the NW room. I don't know the numbers for other levels, so I can't fix the article in any good way right now. Thezmothete 22:42, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Charms for the charm drop log tableEdit
I can't seem to get it to work, so here's some initial data for someone who knows how to start the table: Killed 63; max drop 1 charm at a time; 12 gold charms; 1 crimson charm. Inelcirc 23:02, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
- Someone has updated the log (thanks), so the above info no longer needs to be added. I also figured out how to do it myself, d'oh. Inelcirc 16:00, December 14, 2009 (UTC)
how do people determine a monsters weakness?
Firstly, please try to remember to sign your posts in the future. Now to answer your question, usually a monster's weakness is stated or implied by slayer masters who assign them. If you've only ever been F2P, then that might not make a whole lot of sence. Basically, slayer is a skill that involves completing tasks of killing a specified number of a certian monsters who bring taint to the world. In order to recieve these tasks, one must speak with one of the various slayer masters throughout the world. I'm sure a more detailed explination can be found on the slayer page. When reciving a new task from a master, there is an option ask if they have any tips on slaying the beast. This is where masters will often say the weakness. For example, if assigned to kill waterfiends, the master will likely suggest using a blunt weapon and that their attacks are similar to those of magics. This tells us that they are weak to crush attacks, and that their melee attacks are magic based. When monsters aren't assigned by masters, there are still a few known weaknesses. The crumble undead spell and the salve amulet are usually very effective against most ghosts, zombies, skeletons, etc. The silverlight and darklight are esspecially strong against most demonic beasts. Sometimes, a weakness just seams obvious, like pyrefiends and firegiants are weak against water spells, and icefiends and ice giants are weak against fire spells. I'm sure in some rare cases weakness can be determined simply through experience, but I'm sure you'll also find that a majority of the monsters found throughout Gielinor are assigned as tasks by slayer masters who know their weaknesses and share this knowledge with those who ask. 06:25, August 8, 2010 (UTC)
Adamant arrows? Edit
I haven't killed Catablepons, but based on the SoS setup, it seems unlikely that Catablepons drop Adamant arrows.17:25, November 29, 2010 (UTC)
