This talk page is for discussing Brimhaven Agility Arena.

I beg to differ about the random chance of the sawblade catching you. I always click on the area ahead of the sawblade at almost exactly the same time, but about 50%, the game does not respond to the mouse click until I have the chance of being hurt as I cross it. Is this debatable at all? --Arpaleggia 20:24, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Like it says in the article...it's your internet connection. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 20:47, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
It can't be. I also sometimes click, it responds, but my character does not move until the saw comes up. My internet is broadband and fully operational, so... --Arpaleggia 21:41, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
"it responds, but my character does not move..." So how, exactly, does it respond? JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 22:01, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Ah, yes. I can see how that seems vague. It responds with that little yellow/red cross that flashes from the mouse click on the game screen. --Arpaleggia 18:48, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
That doesn't mean the server has responded. Some things become visible to you the instant you do them, regardless of whether or not the server received them (remember the chat before it was updated?). Clicks are one of them. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 18:54, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
Dang, now I rememer when the cross came up but the server DIDN'T respond. Nevertheless, I am still that the game is selective of whether it responds to my click or not, because my character waits until the saw is about to come up before he moves. Then again, thats just my opinion, maybe i am clicking at the wrong time. I dunno. --Arpaleggia 19:28, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
There are times you can't click. I find the best time to click is as the saw is descending. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 19:42, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Did anyone else notice the huge picture for the handholds?--Natelr13 16:26, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Tickets Edit

If you were to count the extra exps you got from the course plus 40k tickets... you'd end up getting 23 million exps. Assuming you get 40 tickets an hour thats 1,000 hours for 99 agility using the tickets plus 10m exps you get from the course.

GifsEdit

Okay, my new mission is to turn all of these into animated gifs. :) Syugecinspam 02:08, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Late. Don't mind cropping them, though. =P dictature 07:42, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Ring of charosEdit

This article said ring of charos can be used to get in free. i have a ring of charos (a), how do i gain free entrance? Note: I was wearing it...--C00l dud4 12:46, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

The article's wrong.

*cri* Edit

When I wrote this article it was a picture of perfection (almost). Now I'm not even capable of loading it. :( JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 21:01, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

LagEdit

We really need to do something about this. I loaded the page fine then scrolled down, and without warning I hit the videos of all the obstacles and my web browser completely locked up, there was no warning but it just couldn't cope (admittedly on a bad internet connection) with scrolling or even switching windows. It is the fact there is no warning and the video clips last for so long down the page without the option to stop them, it took me 10 minutes to get off the patch of videos. Maybe a version of this page without the videos but with links to each one would be a good idea? This just really bothered me and needs to be sorted out. Thanks! 20:55, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Keeping Low Health Edit

Saving Food by "keeping your hp low" is an unproductive strategy - frequently repeated from some of the other "guides". For the most part, this page doesn't suggest that, but the agiliy skill page does.

The reason is your hp is one of the most important factors in whether you fail or not. The lower your hp, the more frequently you fail. When you fail, you lose tickets and time. Bring some lightweight food or something that makes your hp recover faster.69.37.99.53 06:48, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

At full health, I lose 5 hp each time I fail. At less than 20 health, I only lose 2 hp each failure. That is why you should keep your hp low. Also, I've spent several hours in the arena over the course of several trips and have found that there is no correlation between hp and failure rate. What does impact failure is getting hit by the darts which lowers your agility level. --MarkGyver 04:44, September 25, 2009 (UTC)

Summer Pie? Edit

Perhaps add a message about summer pies, because they heal 22 hitpoints as well as restoring 5 agility levels. Mythomagic5 08:09, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Effect of weight Edit

I admit I was a little skeptical about weight not having any effect on failure. So I did 100 attempts at the spinning blades, first at 85kg and then at 0kg. I ended up with exactly 34 failures both times (at 76 agility). Just wanted to record this on the talk page in case anyone comes looking for evidence. Stewbasic 03:28, October 30, 2009 (UTC)

Strategy Edit

I have a method that might be worth putting into the article if we were to make a strategy section. It involves simply running back to the very center square after every ticket you get. This means you'll have an equal distance to run every round instead of often being too far away from the ticket to get it. With this method I can go on forever without ever missing a ticket. Also, it's good to rest whenever you're waiting around as that doubles your HP restore rate. --D E E J E

Adding to this, a lot of people train on the low wall or, if they don't mind banking for food more often, the spinning blades, while they wait at the central square. Crossing the low wall seems to take more time than it used to however, so perhaps this is no longer worthwhile.Stewbasic 12:37, November 3, 2009 (UTC)

planks-veiw over lava Edit

it think its worth mentioning its much easy to tell which is the good plank if you pan the camera so you look down at the lava

It seems like an easy enough method to figure out, but go ahead. I don't see why it shouldn't go in there. Just put it in the area w/ info about the planks.Quest point capeSk8r dan man Quest 05:05, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

Money making Edit

Who uses this to make money exactally? Even with the 25% chance of doule tickets your average tickets per an hour is 75 without your max is 60. Using current price snap dragons yeild with double 86k per an hour or 69k an hour without very poor gp for anyone. Same goes for pirate hook only 135k per an hour with boost or 105k per an hour without this is terrible gp. Anyone whos decent should be making 300k+ an hour easily away from here.

The GE price of the Pirate's Hook is misleading. Just under an hour ago, I sold two hooks for a total of 16M (and 200K), which is 8.1M each (four times the GE price). This comes out to over 550K gp per hour assuming you get 60 tickets per hour. While this isn't the absolute best money-maker in the game, I used the arena to get my Agility Strange Rocks since this is the most profitable rock-yielding agility method available. Well, until I got tired of it, at least. You may have been right when making this message, but since I don't know when you wrote it due to the lack of signing, I can't tell. Nothing special here. No More Fails?Edit

Is there any point at which you cease to fail the agility obstacles in the Arena? I'm aware of surefooted doing this for 20 mins, however I was curious to see if there is a point (as there is with Ape Atol etc) at which your level is high enough that you cease to fail obstacles? I'm guessing not but wanted to be sure. 195.137.81.78 19:42, January 26, 2012 (UTC)

I've gotten 1600 tickets (with the gloves) with 99 Agility and can assure you that I've failed the dart and spinning blade obstacles plenty of times. The failure rate is noticeably lower compared to when I was sub-60s, though, and I've never failed the dart obstacle enough times to go below 90. I have not failed any other obstacle (besides the saw). Nothing special here. (talk) 22:16, January 6, 2013 (UTC)

Agility LevelEdit

Just wondering but does your agility level really effect your chances because I seem to be failing around the same amount as I was when I had just gotten 40 Agility. I have 65 Agility now.

Tzhaar-ket-om MaulluaM Agility-icon 19:20, June 7, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, otherwise there wouldn't be a reason to train :P As your hunting level increases, your chance of successfully catching a creature increases. As your attack increases, the chance of hitting and not missing increases. Same thing here. Signature5.pngSignature5Last.png 19:22, June 7, 2011 (UTC)
I know it effects your chances on other agility courses but I've always failed around the same amount of times at brimhaven agility arena, my chances never seem to get gotten better.==No More Fails?==

Well, I've always felt my chances got better. It was especially noticeable on the dart obstacle. Signature5.pngSignature5Last.png 20:12, June 7, 2011 (UTC)

Clicks Affecting Success? Edit

It may just be me, but timing my clicks has gotten me through the spinning blade trap (the axe ones that are sideways, not the logging saw) and various others that are delayed-reactions like the spikes, pressure plates and others. However, I see nothing mentioned above, so, is it possible that this actually works or I'm just really lucky? ~Axelskox User talk:Axelskox
