Stats[]

Very powerful against vyres, hit 662 overloaded + turmoil at 99 str, gives fairly decent stats too, comparable to dragon weapon stats.(i hit a 765 with turmoil 33%, overload, 90 str, and slayer helm -Tigerboy)

Can you give the actual stats? ʞooɔ 17:09, August 31, 2011 (UTC)

I hit a 768 using piety and a super set on Vanstom.
On a Slayer task for Vyrewatch I hit 850+ Forum moderator crownFerrelShadowSlayer
"However, even though the stats of the Ivandis flail improve as vyrewatch corpses are burned in the columbarium, the tiny amount of extra stats that the maxed version of the flail has over the polearm is nowhere near enough to make up for the fact that the polearm is almost 2 times faster and for the bonus damage that blisterwood weapons have on vampyres."
-Mod Ana says that cremating vyre corpses increases blisterwood stats the same as the flail, making this paragraph useless.
My highest hit so far on a Slayer task is 988. Was wearing max str boosting gear, 98 strength, turmoil, extreme pots. It didn't give the max hitsplat animation though.

Better than Ivandis Flail?[]

Firstly, the Ivandis flail was upgraded with release of quest to make it more effective against vampyres. See http://services.runescape.com/m=news/the-branches-of-darkmeyer.

Secondly, the Ivandis flail also provides considerable defensive bonuses as well as offensive bonuses.

Thirdly, the increase in stats for a max flail is +11 slash and +16 strength over the polearm, which I don't believe should be considered 'minimal' as stated.

Fourth, and finally, a max hit is not the sole contributor of a weapon's effectiveness against an enemy - a lot of the high hits are wasted, and greater accuracy can result in faster kills.

Could someone confirm that the Blisterwood polearm is in fact more effective in combat given these facts? - 219.90.142.248 12:28, September 1, 2011 (UTC)

With a Vyrewatch task I was averaging a 450 each hit, ususally hitting in the 600s. With the flail I hit maybe a 200 each time. I've burned about 300 corpses now. Forum moderator crownFerrelShadowSlayer 06:59, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

I've been hitting consistent 400+ with the polearm without any prayer or boosts, up in the 700s with half-worn-off extremes (so about super level) and turmoil. With fresh extremes and turmoil, I max under 410 with the flail. (I've burned the 500 corpses, too.) Given the massive extra damage, significantly faster attack speed and small accuracy difference, its fair to say that the polearm far, far outclasses the flail.
The only things the flail has over the polearm is the special attack (not that you'd want to use it), and the ability to cast bloom (which is rendered null by the Ouroboros pouch). Weird gloop @Gaz#7521 12:57, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
After now having done the quest and using the polearm for myself, I very much agree. I also discovered that cremated vyre corpses give the same invisible bonuses to the new weapons, just as they did to the flail, meaning that only the original flail stats are comparable. As a result, it's a clear win for the polearm :) 219.90.142.248 15:54, September 4, 2011 (UTC)

+50% Damage chance.[]

After killing 500+ vyrelords I have noticed that there seems to be a chance of hitting around 50% more damage than usual. This works in a similar way as keris I believe. I don't want to add it to the article without others agreeing that this happens first though.

I have orange hits at around 380 and a normal max of about 450. However occasionally I can hit 700+ so this is why I believe it works like this.109.149.173.9 21:11, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

I agree, I have noticed this. It works on all vyrewatch and vampyre juvinates/juveniles as well. Slayer log Coelacanth0794 Talk Contribs 21:13, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

can this hit over 1k?

Using a maxed flail, 98 att/str with partially worn off extremes, iron titan, turm, and slayer helm (on task) saw a 948 against a vyrelord. Has anyone seen higher?

Two hand weapon?[]

Hidden Buff?[]

So I logged in today, and noticed that my Blisterwood Polearm shows a damage rating of 1564, over double what it was before. I should also note that I've cremated the full amount of vyre corpses, so Jagex may have made the boost vsible. Someone who hasn't cremated the full amount want to check that? Thanks! 75.80.98.75 00:46, March 5, 2013 (UTC) EDIT: This appears to be due to combat rebalancing.

Haven't done any cremations and mine's also 1564. Will edit it in, thanks for the info! Lemon Cake (talk) 01:13, March 5, 2013 (UTC)
