Barbarian Assualt Released[]

Just adding some notes here, I'll write this up properly tomorrow (or someone else can do it).

When facing the queen, you should try and kill all of your type of allotted monster before attempting the queen
Wearing full guthans is helpful vs queen because you can heal off the spawns whatever character class you are, and the healers have 1 less problem to worry about
Have 2 healers when facing the queen (or 1 level 5 healer)
defender drop 2-3 pieces of random bait on the initial run from the machine north so he can pick up logs/hammer and confuse the initial runners.
against queen, it is helpful if players gather near the healing pool.
anybody can fire the cannon, anybody can blow the horn - do this if you have little else to do (you've killed your allotted monsters)
Section on initial bugs
- Loss of inventory after using horn
- Cannon problems when being attacked by rangers, spawns makes it unfireable a lot of the time
- Team joining seems buggy too.

seeds cant be noted[]

in the gamble points guide at the bottom of the page, it says on reward as known rewards is ranarr seeds(70, noted) this is impossible as seeds are not note-able--Alex 17:55, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

D chain[]

Low level stradegey on wave 10[]

Low level players on wave 10 (Armor under full rune) should be healer, and stay by the fountain and heal there when needed (which is often.) He/she can also heal other players, if they come to the healing fountain. The goal of this is simpally to keep the low level alive so the high levels can defeat the queen. Instead of directing people to runescape wikia, you may tell them to check knowledge base for [[http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=2915 Barbarian Assault]] article. It says The eggs that the collector gets from dead Penance creatures can be fed into the egg launchers allowing any player to fire them at the Penance.. If they argue that firing eggs gives penalties - make them check advanced breakdown of honour points after the wave. Or even make them read the "Extra Information" section from the tutorial from Captain Cain. If they continue arguing, just tell them that if they have not bothered reading tutorial it is their problem, not yours. Golduin 15:32, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

There are common misconceptions that only collector can shoot, otherwise there are penalties. This obviously is not true, cause there is no such penalty in advanced breakdown of honour points, in results after wave. Golduin 05:13, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I disagree that it is obvious. It is very logical to assume that using the cannon will make the Defender "gain less points" (AKA "lose points") since the breakdown of points give points for the number of runners killed in the round. The problem here is that some defenders will think that it must be they, the defender, who kills these runners for the points to be awarded. Which of course we know, in reality, is not true; as long as the defenders don't get past (which can only happen if they all die), the defenders (along with everyone else on the team) will score the maximum possible points for that section.--60.240.242.167 10:47, 19 December 2008 (UTC)

It usually starts with the phrase "OMG!" You already know what they are going to say after this. I know it's tough but you just have to ignore them. Finish the game quick with the cannon and then quit the noob team. "Egg cannon looses points" is almost a religion in runescape, such is the blind faith people have in this fallacy.

Using cannon does not lose points check "Home > Player Submissions > Postbag from the Hedge > Postbag 39" on Runescape website.

Even better, whilst in the game, tell players to "Hit enter, twice and type cannon". In quickchat, a message appears saying "The cannon does not make you lose points." which can be said out loud. Nobody EVER doubts quickchat, and they stop complaining.

I think we need to break up the article. Too much info, too large an article. But still missing certain things (e.g. What do u get when u level-up? How much points needed? etc.) YouTube videos, gambling rewards, and equipment & gameplay strategies can be moved to other pages. What do u guys/gals think? Do the low, medium, and high gambles have worse and better chances of a Dragon Chainbody?[]

I love Runewiki. But your information on the subjest states each of the gambles (low, medium, and high), each have the "Very Rare" chance of receiving a Dragon Chain. Does this mean if I were to spend all my points on nothing but a series of High Gambles, it DOES NOT increase the chance over Low Gambles of getting a d-chain? So then they are all equal chances of getting it, even though they each cost different amounts of points? If so, I should spend all my points from here on out on Low Gambles instead of going for High Gambles because its the same chance of getting the d-chain right? And I could save more points and gamble more times, correct?

The Very Rare indication is a category. Two items, or two chances of getting a certain item, may be of different rarity yet in the same rarity category.

Glitches[]

i have been playing BA quite frequently for around 2-3 years now. BA is full of glitches but some of the information about them on the page is a little incomplete/wrong. i will update it. i will also add information regarding 2 other bugs (one historical but fairly important for the highscores which involves points) which are currently not listed.

i will leave anything i am in any way unsure of or seems all good. i think the door making you invisible is to do with fixed mode and transparency, but i only ever play in high detail (or software mode on my laptop), so i havent witnessed it (at least in a very long time) and will therefore leave it. maybe someone could check it out. Ranged Weapons[]

Throwing knives, darts, javelins, Zaryte bows, crystal bows, and ANYTHING that cannot use metallic arrows are ineffective in Barbarian Assault. Please make this point clear and stop spreading misinformation.

Trivia Misinformation[]

In the trivia section it talks about a bug "There is a bug after the rework that prevents players from turning on hard mode with the message "You cannot turn hard mode on or off while in this room as your hard mode wave is not equal to your normal wave. Your current hard mode wave is 0 and your normal wave is 1." despite that players cannot reset the wave below 1. This should be fixed after finishing the required queen kill." I'm certain however, that this is not in fact a bug, but that once the queen is killed you unlock hardmode wave 1. It would not make sense as it says that "you cannot turn on hardmode because your hardmode and normal waves are not the same" because then if you were on wave 1 of normal you could turn on hardmode before achieving the required queen kill.

Also, I am able to add information for many portions of the new barbarian assault as I have played each new role and achieved the king kill multiple times. However, since the rework, this revamp would require a complete makeover of the page, and I am not completely sure how to go about it. BARBARIAN ASSAULT HARD MODE[]

Is the tutorial really a requirement?[]

Just did BA for the first time, and I'm fairly certain I've never done the tutorial, but it still allowed me to play. In the introduction section, it says you need to complete it to play. However, since I'm only fairly certain I've never done the tutorial, I'm not going to make the change. Anyone else able to confirm/deny this? It's entirely possible I forgot I did it months or years ago.
