Didn't Aubury (before the the skill capes) look like a regular man, with brown hair? I seem to remember he got an unannounced graphical makeover when the capes came out, but I haven't seen anything about it anywhere. Kudos 2 U 05:06, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Skillcape[]
I'm a free player. I was wondering, if he sells the skillcape, why can't you choose that option on the options of speech menu? Thanks.Sasuke Kiddy 21:02, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
I fear, my friend, the capes are now only available for members with Level 99 in any skill, along with 99,000 coins. A recent forum asking Jagex Moderations about this has confirmed that they do not ever intend to release the capes for free players. Ralnon (talk) 19:55, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
There are two other reasons for this - for one, although you can ask about the skillcapes of many NPCs, you usually need 99 for them to mention selling one to you - when I talk to Pikkupstix for example, he instantly remarks how he's never seen such raw summoning energy. But the other, is that when buying the runecrafting cape, Aubury still does not mention it in dialogue and instead can only be traded with for it. Faiylen 18:30, January 19, 2010 (UTC)

It's there to show his connection to the Rune Mysteries quest - note how the icon is identical to the one on the in-game Rune Mysteries quest guide. I suppose it's intended to help beginning questers find NPCs that are associated with some of the earlier quests. Looking around the F2P areas of RuneScape you should come across NPCs with similar symbols - the Lumbridge chef, for example, has one next to his name! Faiylen 18:25, January 19, 2010 (UTC)
