Talk:Attack
From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape
It is worth noting that high attack is good for monsters at a similar or higher level, while high strength is good for training realtively low-level monsters. The high attack helps you hit the stronger monsters, and the high strength helps you do more damage and thus train faster on weaker enemies. On low-level enemies, your weapon will give you enough attack to hit your enemy, so high damage will help out more. The opposite is true on stronger enemies.

Are there any other things that give attack bonuses? --Richard1990 23:24, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Include Comparison?
This quote is curently in the page: "Attack is often over looked by people focusing on strength."
Although quite true, should we include statistics to indicate whether (and under what conditions) a strength XP is worth more than an attack XP? Coolcoder9t 01:17, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- I would say yes, although I don't have the means to show such statistics. --Rulinggod 18:34, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Hi-score Minimum
Do we really need a hi-score minimum on this and every other skill page? The minimum keeps on changing so it's almost impossible to get the exact minimum every time. --TheWeirdOne876 03:11, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. I don't understand the point of it. Maha Nadihan 03:14, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
- It is currently not correct, The minimum to get onto the attack hiscores is 60. Dommeh 02:17, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Darn!
[edit] Done
This page should be done, but it feels like it's missing something. If you see something missing, please, put it in! --Richard1990 17:18, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dummies
About this...
Tip: Wine can be used to lower a player's attack level so you don't have to stop training on dummies at level 8.
I have tried it, and it's FALSE!!! So please, do not put it back in.--Richard 03:18, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Just so you know, this could be used in RSC. Vimescarrot 07:59, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- Then it should go in a section on Attack in RSC. --Zoetrope BRK 08:12, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
- It has its own article: Wine trick. -- Couchpotato99 14:51, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Used to work on RS2, but hasn't for years... Da_Dragon555 19:14, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Attack lvl
My attack lvl (34) is stuck with 76 points to lvl 35, does anybody know how to get it up?
I am wearing;
- Grim reaper hood
- Cape (black)
- Adamant Sword
- Black platelegs
Help please? --Jay ✉/✐ 17:40, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Go to the combat menu, and make sure you have your weapon on a mode that gives attack experiance. You should be able to tell when you hover over the mode what skills it gives experiance to.

[edit] high levels?
i came to this article in search of an answer to the question of why train on higher leveled monsters if lower levels give the same amount of xp. are you sure the xp is correct? if it is then why not train on guards or outlaws instead of lessers? thanksMilldog 93 22:27, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
I think it's all about the monster's aggressiveness. Axearmour1 08:19, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] experience points
ive been killing outlaws because of their low defence, i keep hitting 12s on them and only getting low amounts of xp(like 3)the xp must be wrong or outdated can someone please help me with this? Milldog 93 22:44, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- In fact, you're right. Combat experience appears to depend on the level of the monster you're fighting now. I've been looking into it a little bit. I think a lot of monsters haven't been updated to give different amounts of experience yet and still give 4. Most give around 4 experience per damage still, but if you watch your experience points you can notice it switching back and forth between odd and even numbers proving you aren't getting exactly 4 experience per damage. --Wowbagger421 21:06, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Can someone get a confirmation on this? I get 4 exp whenever I fight anything, so what are you talking about?76.212.14.9 00:54, 15 June 2008 (UTC)
It doesn't depend on the level of monsters because I fight level 28 flesh crawlers and I'm level 62 but I get 4xp per hit
[edit] Maximum Bonus Table
I would like to note that the Rune Defender is incorporated with this, though the three primary Weapons listed for the Maximum are Two-Handed...Therefore not enabling the use of a Defender... Hmmm? What should be done? I am not well-versed in Wiki-Syntax, so if someone who knows fully well what they are doing correct this? Da_Dragon555 04:56, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Max bonus should also have a 'only non-degradeable armour' option
I don't have alot of money, so i don't want to waste it repairing armor. CAn someone find out what the max bonuses are with using non-degradeable armor? 192.108.16.217 18:29, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
We need a non PVP armour top bonus table, because the armour is almost certainly not going to be used in anywhere but PVP. And most people do not pk so it isn't very useful to most people.
[edit] Halberd Training Spots
Where is a good place to practice attack using a Halberd? Thanks in Advance. - Chasingu
