The steel spear is a two handed melee weapon that requires 20 Attack to wield and is the third weakest type of spear. It is member's only and can only be used in combat. It can be bought from other players or received as a monster drop. Players who have started learning Barbarian smithing, have completed the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio quest and have level 35 Smithing may produce a spear at a Barbarian anvil from one steel bar and one willow log, receiving 75 Smithing experience.
During Tai Bwo Wannai Trio, the steel spear may be used with poison karambwan paste to create the steel spear (kp). After the quest, the poisoned spear can be bought from Tamayu's Spear Stall and cleaned with a cleaning cloth to get a steel spear.
