Steel mace detail

The Steel mace is a mace stronger than the iron mace, yet weaker than the Black/White Mace. It requires 20 Attack to wield. It can be made at level 32 Smithing using one steel bar, giving the player 37.5 smithing experience. Players can purchase this mace from Flynn's Mace Market in Falador.

As a mace, it gives prayer bonuses as well as combat bonuses, unlike other combat weapons. This, combined with its speed, makes it a very feasible weapon choice for low levels.

In the beginning years of RuneScape 2, Monks of Zamorak used to wield a steel mace and drop it at a 100% ratio. This item is wielded by the jail guards that guard Khnum in Draynor Village after Stolen Hearts, as well as by the Chaos druid warriors in Yanille Agility dungeon. Neither of these monsters drop it, though.

It is also used in a level one clue scroll.
