Steel key red is a reward from the Shades of Mort'ton minigame. To obtain it, the player must kill either a phrin shade or a riyl shade and then burn its remains on a pyre. The key may be used to enter the Shade Catacombs and open the correctly coloured chest. It will open a steel-framed chest with a red lock, and a reward can be obtained from it. This type of key can only be used to open up to steel doors within the tombs.
