Steel key purple is a key and reward from the Shades of Mort'ton minigame. To obtain it, the player must kill a riyl shade and then burn its remains on a pyre. This key cannot be obtained as a reward from a phrin shade . The key may be used to enter the Shade Catacombs and then open the correctly coloured chest. It will open a steel-framed chest with a purple lock. This type of key can only be used to open doors up to steel within the tombs.
