Steel equipment are equipment stronger than iron equipment. As with all things steel, they have a light, silvery-grey colour.

Steel weapons give low attack bonuses. Players require an Attack level of 5 to wield them. They are more expensive and powerful than iron and less powerful than mithril. They require a higher attack level to wield. Some of the weapons are used in the quest In Search of the Myreque.

Steel armour is the third-lowest quality armour on the standard metal armour spectrum (bronze to dragon). Steel armour requires 5 Defence to wear. A full set of Steel Armour would include full helmet, platebody, platelegs, and kiteshield would sell for around 5,000 to 7,000 coins. The upgraded version of Ava's accumulator collects small steel items and places them into your inventory. This armour is widely regarded as the best armour available for melee pures, as it can be worn with only 5 defence, which does not raise the combat level significantly.
