Statius's platebody detail

Statius's platebody is part of Statius's Equipment, and is obtained by killing Revenants in the Forinthry Dungeon or the Chaos Elemental.

The normal version requires 78 Defence to wear, and lasts for 1 hour of combat. After the time is up, the platebody will vanish. However, that means that you can wear it and sell it again as long as you don't fight anything, just like Barrows Equipment.

A corrupt version also exists, which requires only 20 Defence and lasts only for 15 minutes of wearing (degrades even while not in combat).

A good method of gaining something back from the item before it vanishes is to have your character die in the wilderness when skulled. You will lose the item but gain approximately 1.5m coins in return if you return to where you died. This method is more lucrative than alching the item before it vanishes. This can be achieved by poisoning then allowing your character to die, or getting a trusted friend to kill you.

Contrary to popular belief, this item does not degrade while using non-combat magic.
