The Spring cleaner is an item from Treasure Hunter that can break drops from NPC down. It initially comes with 100 charges and can be recharged further with springs, holding up to 500 charges. When held in the inventory, it can either break down certain drops into the components that make it, or convert them into bonus experience.
Regarglesss of the item broken down, only 1 spring will be used if the spring cleaner is completely or partially successful. If the spring cleaner fails, no springs will be used. Springs are used per item, not per drop; e.g. getting multiple rune bars broken down will use 1 spring for each bar.

Failing to break down an item prompts either of the following:
The spring cleaner gears crunch and it breaks part of an item.
The spring cleaner failed to break down an item to useable resources, no springs were used.
It is possible for the cleaner to only be partially successful, in which case, it will send only the main materials to your bank. For example, if it partially fails to dismantle a rune dagger, 1 runite ore will be sent to the bank, but the 8 coal will be destroyed.
