Spirit weed seeds may be used to grow grimy spirit weed by players with a farming level of 36. The seed must be planted in a herb patch to grow.

After about 80 minutes it should be ready to harvest giving about 5 grimy herbs (if supercompost was used before the plant or with Fertile soil spell) or more.

Spirit weed seeds may be obtained only from monster drops. Jagex has stated that Master farmers cannot be pickpocketed for these seeds.

It hasn't been confirmed that Spirit weed seeds will sometimes grow other random herbs and not only Spirit weed herbs. They peaked at 40,000 coins when they were first released with the Summoning skill update on 15 January 2008, but dropped sharply to 200-300 coins due to low demand and also due to the fact that the herbs generated are not guaranteed to be Spirit Weed herbs.
